The sound of the door closing resonated in the room as the veterinarians left the room, leaving Jaejoong alone. Slowly taking off his scarf and cap, he slowly dropped them onto the chair by the side, along with his bag and the mask he took off earlier. He pursed his lips as he stared at the grey ball of fur on the table. Jaejoong pursed his lips and tears rolled down his cheeks uncontrollably. His heart ached and he felt strengthless. He had seen it coming, but is nevertheless painful as he grieved and soundlessly cried, suppressing forcefully to only small sniffs to indicate his emotions. 

The door quietly opened and closed, arms rounded his waist and he was pulled into a warm embrace. Jaejoong turned around and threw his arms around his lover’s neck, burrowing his face into the taller’s neck before his cries finally broke free. Yunho’s hand ran soothingly down his the back of his head and down his spine, the younger pressed kisses against Jaejoong’s temple as tears slowly rolled down his cheeks as well. 

Minutes passed by, and the cries slowly calmed. When the rolling tears halted and Jaejoong’s cries smoothed to occasional sniffs, the veterinarians patiently waiting outside knocked.

Yunho lifted Jaejoong’s face and kissed him, “You ready?”
