The five boys had gone out from the library, but Jaejoong was still a bit hyper. Yunho couldn’t help but to hug his Jaejoongie tightly to calm the elf boy. Jaejoong was a bit surprised but he smiled and hugged Yunho back. The dragon certainly didn’t expect this; he thought Jaejoong would just blush and stay. He really didn’t expect a reply but he’s so happy with it.

“Changmin ah, can I read the next clue?” Junsu suddenly said, he was too excited to finish the last task so he wasn’t affected by YunJae-ness. The vampire boy sighed at the couple hug and nodded to the nymph boy. Yoochun slowly went to Junsu’s side. He wanted to get the best place to see Junsu’s cute reading face.

“The last tool is…you must make something from all the tools you have gathered,” Junsu read as he frowned confusedly, but it was still too cute on Yoochun’s eyes.

“What?” Yunho finally let go of his Jaejoongie. It took all of them a few seconds to get the clue. Changmin sighed, he didn’t expect this. What could possibly they make from a shovel, matches, bucket, and air freshener?

“We can make armor and weapon,” Jaejoong suddenly spoke,” Human uses it to protect themselves and superhero uses it to defeat bad people!”

“You’re so brilliant, Jaejoongie!” Yunho squalled as he continued,” We can mix the matches and air freshener to make flamethrower!”

“The bucket as helmet!” Yoochun suddenly joined.

“The shovel as sword!” Junsu said excitedly.

“…” Changmin didn’t say anything; he was too stunned to say anything. He quite loved the idea of making armor and weapon, it was freaking cool but he wasn’t sure it was the thing they should build. The rest noticed Changmin’s worries.

“Um, do you have better idea, Changmin ah?” Yunho asked, trying to be fair as a leader.

“Making armor and weapon are cool, I totally in for it but…I don’t think that what this tasks are for,” Changmin explained,” I mean. We’re collecting human’s tool and this school purpose is to make us blend in with humanity. I think we should make something that makes us look like human?”

“Then, what if we just use them like human do?” Junsu asked innocently.

“What do you mean?” Yoochun asked.

“We should make something from the tools, right? It doesn’t have to be a thing too,” Junsu explained, he was somehow having a hard time,” I mean, we can just make a play telling stories on how these tools have to be used by human.  So…So that the human that looks at us will see us as one of them…Not some scary…things…”

The rest finally got Junsu’s idea; they’re not expecting a simple but realistic idea from the nymph boy. It was exactly their deepest dilemma. They had to live together with human but they couldn’t let human knew their real self. Human would be scared and do bad things to them if they did. Well, most of the human. The five of them were feeling a little gloomy when suddenly one of them broke the silence.

“We can plant something,” Jaejoong spoke his idea as the nymph boy lightened up. He nodded excitedly.

“We use the shovel to take some soil---“ Yunho smiled.

“Then put it on the bucket---“ Changmin continued.

“Put some water~” Yoochun loved water so much, even the word made him smile.

“Then I’ll put some of my green root!” Junsu claimed. All of them were smiling but suddenly they realized they didn’t use two tools; the matches and the air freshener.

“We can fill the air freshener with water instead of perfume,” Jaejoong said,” We’ll use it to water the root.”

“Yey!” Junsu and Yoochun cheered. Somehow Junsu could imagine it was like Yoochun pouring water on him; the green root was part of the nymph boy and the water was part of the merman boy after all.

“What should we do with the matches?” Changmin asked the golden question as they suddenly stayed silent. Something was missing and they couldn’t remember what.

“Ohhh!!!’ suddenly the leader said excitedly,” The matches can make heat and light, right? So it can be the sun!!!”

“You’re brilliant, Yunnie!” Jaejoong cheered as the rest of them jumped excitedly. They planned more on who would do what and gathered the tools they needed. Soon enough, their plan was perfect. It didn’t take long before all them rushed to their classroom. The teacher was already there waiting for them.

“Congratulations! You’re the first group to arrive!” the teacher said,” But you have to make something to finish the task, so what will you make?”

“We’re going to pretend as human!” the five boys chorused. The teacher seemed surprised by the idea but gave a go for the boys.

Changmin used the shovel to take the soil they had prepared before. He put it to the bucket. Then, Yoochun poured some water to the bucket. Junsu put some of his green root on the bucket full of moist soil. Then Yunho lighted the matches and acted like it was the sun. Jaejoong gave the final touch as he sprayed some water using the air freshener.
 

The root suddenly tickled and grew slowly. It changed from a small root into a plant. The boys cheered as their plan worked. They were too busy to realize the teacher walked toward them. Suddenly, they felt light pat on each of their head.

“All of you really did a good job,” the teacher said,” This’s your reward.”

It was a small card with an ‘A’ mark on the first box. There’re a lot of empty boxes and they’re so happy they got the best score for their first task. The boys cheered happily.

“Here’s your bonus,” the teacher gave each of them a tall small thing and it shone red brightly if they pressed the button on the bottom.

“What is this?” Junsu asked.

“It’s called a light stick,” the teacher explained,” It’ll light your way, especially on dark night like this.”

“It’s so beautiful,” Jaejoong couldn’t help but to touch the light stick softly with his finger again and again. The rest did the same. Changmin tried to bite at the light stick because he wondered if the red color came from blood; he thought he could drink it.

“You can go to the canteen if you want to,” the teacher finally said,” You can have some free candies. But make sure to come back to the class when the bell rings, okay?”

“Okayyyy,”the five boys chorused as they walked to the canteen slowly, still busy playing with their new toy. They finally got in front of the canteen and realized the light was on now. They went in and were greeted by one familiar boy.

“You’re late, I almost finish all the candy by myself,” Kyuhyun spoke as he saw the red light sticks,” Woaaa, you got one? I have one too, but it shines blue!”

The five boys were amazed by the blue light stick Kyuhyun showed them. They wondered how many colors there were, but they’re didn’t need more. They’re happy with their own red light stick, because it reminded them of their group.

“I’ve decided to make red our group color!” suddenly the leader spoke up. The rest agreed immediately.

“Come on, I’m starving,” Changmin spoke.

“You’re always starving,” Kyuhyun said.

“Come on, Jaejoongie!” Yunho said excitedly as he pulled the elf boy into the candy mountain. They knew it was for the entire new student but since they’re arrived first, they could get more, right?

“I love candy!” Junsu cheered.

“I…I love it too,” Yoochun blushed because he still couldn’t handle excited Junsu. He didn’t think he would ever will but he didn’t mind. All of them finally finished their first task on their first day at school. It felt so great to finish first. They didn’t realize this could be the beginning of something they always longed. It was true that “friends are the family you choose” and they had no regret to choose each other.
