Guardians Of Lemorian (EXO fanfic) | EdittingYunho stared at the twelve students in front of him. As he expected (as what Gaeil actualy told him would happen), four days was enough for one of them to decide he'd take the test, and convince the others to do so as well. They all looked determined, but he still felt uneasy with Awakening twelve of them at once. It was only eight days until the solstice which was the only night they could perform the Awakening--the Guardianship Test.
By then, they would have a better understanding--at least he hoped--of what they were doing on earth, and be able to have all those memories that they have been deprived with, thanks to the two centuries they'd been imprisoned in the Twin Worlds and the memories the young Unawakened Eunhye placed on them. How she was able to do that in her twelfth winter, without any training, he didn't know, but it sure helped them get to where they were now. All twelve of them were still safe, together and untouched. The Fountain was still with them after all.
"Okay. There's no going back after this, so I'm giving you the last chance to change your mind right now."
"We're going to take it," Suho said. "We do everything together, and this won't be anything different."
"You do realize that came out wrong, right?" Eunhye said, standing as creepily as usual behind Yunho, who was seated on the Headmaster's chair and glaring at her. She held out her hand in surrender. "I'm just saying."
"Forgive her, she went through it alone, so..."
"Gaeil went throught it alone, too," Changmin contradicted.
"Your point, being...?" Eunhye asked Changmin. She didn't seem fazed that her older brother was a school teacher now.
Sehun bit his tongue to keep from laughing. The others were smiling, too, but Baekhyun let out a snort. Eunhye glared at him, so he sealed his mouth together.
"Anyway," Yunho said. "The moment you said yes, you actually already passed the first test. So, congratulations."
"I thought the first test was going to be intellectual?" Kai asked. He had read a lot of books, thinking he might need something from than. He even read the history of the school in case that came out on the tests, too.
"You already surpassed it when you decided to take on the challenge and be ready for more responsibilities. That's all we needed to determine if your intellectual skills will be sufficient enough. Now commitment is the next test, and that one will be individual. For two weeks, you'll be learning a different language and will be undergoing physical training."
"Will we be able to climb the walls and jump over roofs now?" Sehun asked.
"That is part of the Prefect training. Guardian skillsets are... well higher level."
"You mean to say aside from the Prefect training for the next two weeks, we'll also be undergoing Guardian training?" Kris asked, trying to think about the physical effort that would take. And learning a new language? He's confused with the four languages he can speak already.
"It's not Guardian training," Eunhye corrected him. "You're not Guardian yet. It's the second test. We'll be testing your determination, dedication and commitment. It's a walk in the park, really."
Changmin handed each one of them a roll of parchment. "So Language lesson number one. There's a word that's written in your parchment--don't open it yet. Open it when you're alone, and don't show it to anyone else. Each one has his own. Now, there's one word written in it, and you have to decide what it would mean, and how to read it. You have a fortnight* for that."
"Don't think about showing it to anyone, okay? We have a way
