Chapter 38
Game Plan

"Only one visitor," The police officer said.
"I'll go," I told the rest.
Following the police, I waited for Jae Suk to come out.
It was just yesterday that everything happened, and halabeoji ripped away his magic for good, and... died. I choked back the guilt and anguish I felt. If it wasn't for me, if I had just killed Jae Suk... halabeoji wouldn't have died. It was all my fault.
Now, Jae Suk wasn't a witch or vampire anymore, but a human. He was weaker now, but who knew that to save a life... I had to sacrifice another. Tears filled my eyes.
"Why are you visiting me? Are you here to mock me?" Jae Suk's sarcastic voice woke me from my thoughts, and I looked up at him.
"Ani. I'm here to tell you that it's not too late, no matter what. You've suffered and gone through alot, and you've just made a bad choice. But it's not too late to change a new path, start anew. You can try to atone for what you've done."
Jae Suk balled his fists. "What have I done?! You people deserve to suffer."
"That's what you'll have to think through while you're here. And maybe, if you finally realise what you've done, you might be given a chance," I gave him a sad smile.
Jae Suk grit his teeth, but I continued anyway.
"I couldn't kill you... because I knew there was still good in you. That you should be given a chance." I told him, before getting up.
"I believe that you can still be saved. If you weren't so clouded by grief and pain, you wouldn't have started this. You know that's what your daughter wouldn't want. She wouldn't want you to be like this because of her. And.. I don't regret my choice one bit. Even if I knew halabeoji was going to die... I still wouldn't be able to kill you, Kim Jae Suk."
It was late in the afternoon, and the strong sunlight was beating down on us. We packed our things ( which wasn't much as we didn't unpack), about to leave for the airport.
When I talked with Jae Suk, the rest went to fill their empty stomaches.
"Seung Gi, how's your wound?" Min-ah asked, gesturing to the bite on my neck. "It doesn't hurt," I replied, flexing my shoulders.
She took a look, gasping. It had healed, just like it would a normal wound. "It's healing!" She cheered.
I quickly felt it, and surprisingly it felt normal. Maybe.. maybe it was just a rumour that a vampire bite could kill werewolves? Afterall, I've never experienced or seen a vampire bite a werewolf before.
Tears filled Min-ah's eyes. "Oh, Seung Gi, oh Seung Gi!" She grinned, her eyes twinkling. She carried me up and twirled me around.
"Hey, hey!!" I laughed. But she didn't let go, she didn't want to. Everything was too good to be true, but it was happening.
Suddenly, Suzy and her two friends appeared.
"Hai," Suzy smiled shyly. "I'm so glad you all are safe! And now that Jae Suk is no longer a hybrid witch vampire, we are not sired to him anymore," She said, her smile widening. "Are you guys going back to Seoul?"
Min-ah finally placed me down, but the b
