The sound of crashing waves filled the silence between us. Min-ah had agreed to go to any crowded place with me, even though she hated crowded places.

The beach wasn't that crowded, but it was the most peaceful and relaxing place to be at. It was the best of both places. Afterall, what was the point of being together if we didn't enjoy it?

"Race you to the sea," I said, getting up. We rushed to the waters, and started splashing each other.

But the happiness didn't last long. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my neck, and my whole body felt weak. I dropped into the water, Min-ah swimming frantically towards me.

She carried me the surface, but then her eyes turned a fury red. She placed her hands to my neck, and I couldn't breathe.

I woke, surprised to see Min-ah by my side. Wait. Hadn't she suffocated me? Hadn't I died? What just happened?

Min-ah turned. "Oh, you're awake," She smiled.

"What... happened?" I massaged my neck.

"You.. you were trying to choke yourself. I managed to stop you. What happened??" Her eyebrows were knitted in worry together, forming a unibrow.

"I.." I started. Then I remembered Hyo Joo saying something about hallucinating.

You'll feel cold and weak, and start to hallucinate. It's practically worse than death.

I shivered at the thought. I almost just killed myself. But an idea formed in my mind.

"Do you think if you bite me.. I'll die faster?"

"What? I-I don't know. But I'm not gonna do it. I can't. And what if... it slows your death?"

I thought about that. It might be possible.

Night came faster than ever, and we quickly packed up. Time seemed to fly faster now that time was running out.

"Seung Gi, let's get married," Min-ah said suddenly as we drove back.

I blinked at her proposal. "But.. why? I'll be gone soon."

"Don't say it so easily. If there's anyone I'd marry, it'd be you, and only you. And I can cherish our memories together," She snapped.

"Okay." I should be happy. She was doing like I wanted, remembering me like I wished she would.

But... what I didn't realise was that it must be really painful for her to remember me. I was being selfish all along, telling her not to forget me. I didn't think about the pain she had to go through remembering me. Because the memories would only bring her pain.

When Min-ah fell asleep, I quickly slipped away to a jewelery shop. It was about to close, and I managed to enter in time.

A particular silver ring caught my eye, and I quickly bought it, the owner unable to object as it was one of the most expensive in the shop.
