Chapter 34
Game Plan
I grabbed a penknife lying next to the bed, and made my way towards Hyo Joo.
"No.." I heard Min-ah gasp. Hyo Joo fought her tears. "I'm sorry," She whispered once more.
Slowly, I lifted the penknife high up, ready to slash it down into Hyo Joo's face.
"No, please don't, Seung Gi!" Min-ah gasped. "You're not yourself, please!"
I barely heard her voice as Jong-suk shouted, "Don't hurt her! Hurt me instead, please!"
Hatred filled my mind, and I lifted my arm higher, feeling the energy burst to life in my hands. I'll stab her, and slice off, I decided.
"Do it," Jae Suk whispered beside me. "Get your revenge, make her suffer!" He urged.
"Don't, Seung Gi!" Min-ah sobbed. "Don't .. don't do it," She sounded defeated. "If you do it... you'll become just like her. A monster. That's what you told me. Revenge doesn't solve problems. If everyone in this world solve problems by revenge.. what will this world become of? Do you really want to see Hyo Joo suffer? Will you feel happier, will things change if you kill her? Will it be worth for one more person to suffer?"
My eyes widened at her words. Emotions swirled around in my head. She was right. Min-ah was right. I wouldn't be any different if killed Hyo Joo. Nothing could change now, and my parents wouldn't come back to life. But I can save one life. Slowly, my fingers loosened its grip on the knife, and it clanked loudly as it hit the ground.
"You're right. If I did that.. I would just be the same as her. If I had killed her... I wouldn't be the victim, I would become the murderer," I shook my head. "I can't believe.." I stuttered, shocked at what I'd almost done. I almost killed a life. I almost pushed the sharp knife into the flesh, and through the beating heart. I couldn't believe fury had gotten the better of me.
Jae Suk frowned. "
