"Good morning!" Yuri greeted when Jessica went to the balcony

"Yuri? What are you doing here?"

"I told you i'll annoy you. And since i feel like you didn't, i already came. Let's have breakfast?"

"But i did"

"Really?" Yuri doubted so Jessica rolled up her sleeves

"See? I did it last night and today too"

"Very well then. But, Are you just going to be there until practice? I feel like my neck is going to break"

"I'll be going down. Wait a minute"

"Jessica! Come and join us for breakfast" Mr. Im called out

"Wait up, I'll fetch my friend who is outside"

"Granny, this is Yuri. One of the students" Jessica introduced Yuri 

"Hello, Are you well now?"

"Ah! The one who ate hotdog and spilled ketchup?"

"Spilled ketchup?"

"The one at her clothes. Sit down and eat quietly as possible" Yoona answered so Jessica led Yuri to seat 

'She's usually like that. Sorry. Let's eat and leave, hmm?'

'Are you going to give me free advance lessons?'

'Fine'

"But what's with that bandage?" Granny asked staring at Jessica's rolled-up sleeves with the bandage on her arm

"Ahh. This. Nothing much" Jessica gulped wondering if her excuse is sufficient enough

"But i wonder why do you have to come here when you'll definitely see her later?" Yoona asked as cold-as the usual

"Yoona!" Mr. Im hushed her

"Ah that? I wanted to make sure that she eats her breakfast, get to class safely and, to accompany her when nobody could"

"What do you mean by that?" 

"Walking to class isn't safe granny. I'm gonna accompany her"

"Granny, we'll go ahead. Please continue your breakfast and don't forget your medicines" Jessica added standing up to leave the dining area. Yuri could only bow before she gets completely dragged away by Jessica

'Let's go. You're dead to me'

'Why? I was being honest'

"Granny, Dad, I'll go out for a bit" Yoona stood up too finishing her breakfast

"Oh? Where are you going?"

"Out for a walk"

"Look at her, it's the first time she stepped out of this house on her own will. Why did you raise your daughter like that?"

"She hated winter because of me, i guess? She was sick at one point but since my wife and i fought, i didn't take care of her so she must've felt that i don't care about her"

"Only that?"

"No."

"Then?"

"She believes that someone always leaves her during winter. That reason alone, played that biggest role"

 

 

"Miss kwon, we have things to talk about, you think?

"Really? About what?"

"What were you saying there? Do you want to die?" Jessica glared

"Wow. I helped you yet i'm in trouble?"

"Which part did you help me?"

"She --"

"Let's go, we need to talk. I need to say something to you" Yoona held Jessica's wrist cutting Yuri off

"I know that you have an attitude inside the house because you don't want to be there in the first place. But i didn't know that it applies outside too. That's just plain rude"

"Can we talk?"

"Aren't you doing it already? Yuri asked

"Privately. Just the two of us"

"As you can see, i'm with her and we're heading to class. Let's talk later"

"It can't wait till later"

"Yuri, go ahead. I'll follow in a few minutes. Make sure you change up already" Jessica relented, giving Yoona the chance to talk to her privately.

"Don't be too late. You owe me advance lessons"

 

 

 

"What is it?" Jessica asked looking at her wrist watch "I'm only giving you 5minutes"

"Wh - What you said at the hospital ... Don't do it. Don't"

"Why?"

"I know i treated you badly but still ... don't"

"It's not like i'll stay there forever. I'll leave too. Even if you don't want me to" Jessica answered 

"Can't i be the one?"

"The one for?"

"Who could accompany you. Can't i be the one?"

"No."

"With the same reason you're leaving, can't it be me too? Can't you stay because of me?" Yoona asked softly. It was a first, from Jessica's perspective.

"I can't. Does that answer it? Can i go now?"

"Why can't i seem to change your mind?"

"You can't. And you wouldn't be able to."

"Why?"

"Just remember that in every beginning there's endings in it. How much you dislike a thing, is being liked by someone too much. That meeting me is a beautiful and yet tragic moment in your life"

"Don't leave."

"Stubborn. I'll go now. This is useless" Jessica answered standing up to leave 

"Do i have to annoy you for you to do what i want to?"

"Isn't that what Yuri did?"

"Try to annoy me, i'll ignore you"

"Yes. So don't even try. It would be a waste"
