I was midways through my wonderful sleep in my hotel room when my phone began to ring violently interrupting the peacefulness. I looked at the time on the phone it was 7 am. Who would call at such an ungodly hour? I didn’t have to be up and ready until 1 pm!

“Hello?” I answered hoarsely still half asleep.

“Get up. We’re going somewhere.” I heard through the line. I looked at the caller id only to confirm who i thought it was, but I was only fooling myself to think that I could mistaken that voice.

“I can’t. I have a schedule later on today.” I counter attacked his plans. I was fully awake by now, and aware of what he was doing again. He was getting awfully good at it actually. I constantly found myself being apart from the people I used to be around 24/7 because of him. However, I also found less loneliness because of him. It was a strange feeling.  But that didn’t take away the fact that I hated how he was trying to control my whereabouts and company.

“You’ll be back by then. I’ll see you downstairs in 30 minutes. Don’t forget I’m not a patient person Minzy.” He warned me. I was ready to fight back, but the line went dead. I reluctantly got up and got dressed in time to meet the black Bentley waiting for me downstairs. I made sure no one was around to see me getting into the vehicle before we were off.

“Good morning beautiful.” he greeted.

“You know my members are getting suspicious as to why I’m never around anymore.” I told him. I was getting awfully good at lying to them which made me feel extremely guilty towards them. Today would be another day because I was suppose to meet them before our schedule in Dara unnies room for brunch, and I’d have to come up with another excuse.

“Should we have invited them?” he smirked teasingly knowing I would find absolutely no humor in his question. We talked after that night in Beijing, and I made my conditions clear to him if we were going to continue whatever this was between him and I. I still knew too little about this man for my liking. There was a lot of unanswered questions like:

Why did everyone say the media portrayed him as a villain when he wasn’t?

Why were they indebted to Wu Yi Fan as their lifesaver?

Why would he never talk about his past?

What made him enter this “business” in the first place?

“I’m kidding,” he laughed “Condition number 1 million never associate myself with your acquaintances.” he mocked me, but I couldn’t help but smile with him. This side of him had to be my favorite. His laugh and smile were intoxicating I couldn’t help but be consumed in his happiness. The way his eyes almost disappeared into crescent shapes, or the way his gums showed the more he laughed or smiled. When he was like this I forgot he was the persecuted Wu Yi Fan. However, I had to constantly remind myself that Yi Fan was a dangerous criminal, but that was hard to do. He would do the most normal things with me, so it was hard to believe that it was he who was the head of EXO. It was he who ordered murders, who shipped drugs around the globe. Yi Fan was a dangerous man I too had witnessed it, but something within me was unwilling to acknowledge the danger. Could it be that I found this whole situation thrilling? He offered an escape from my very repetitive life. I didn’t know what it was, and frankly I was scared to find out.

I simply rolled my eyes at him. “Where are we going?” I finally asked as he drove his black Bentley through the streets of Manila. “You’ll see.” he winked.

We pulled up next to a very hidden looking restaurant just outside of Manila. I couldn’t believe he would bring me to such a public place. “Let’s go.” he said stepping out of the car, and opening the passenger door to let me out. I refused to do such thing though. “What’s wrong?” he questioned.

“I thought we weren’t to be out in public places.” I looked at him worried as I remembered the one condition we both agreed upon. If pictures were to be taken or word of our sighting here would mean his capturing not only that, but I would surely be incarcerated as well as an accomplice of some sort. And all these thoughts of him being constricted my breathing.

“Hey, calm down.” he said eyeing my panicked state of mind. “This isn’t a public place. They only cater to… certain people.” He explained to me pulling me out of the car, and next to him. We walked into the place together as he had his arm secured around my waist.

“Yah! Superstar!” I was immediately greeted by the nickname the EXO guys gave me. I looked to the right and surely enough there was Chanyeol waving in our direction. He was accompanied by Luhan, Chen, Baekhyun, and Lay. They were all smiles as they waved at us sitting at a round table decorated with yummy food. Baekhyun and I we were on good terms now thankfully because with the amount of time I spent with them it would have been really awkward if he still hated me. I simply smiled and waved back.

“Where’s Kai?” Kris asked. Ah the infamous Kai. They all spoke wonders about this guy, but I had never personally seen him. I guess today would be that day. The closest I got to seeing all 12 of them together was that first night in Beijing, but other than that there was always only some not all together.

“Finishing up some business. He should be here any moment now” Chen answered point. I began to make my way to the guys, but I was pulled back by the waist until my body met Yi Fan’s.

“Where to my lovely superstar?” He questioned towering over me, and gripping me by the waist.

“Aren’t we going to eat with them?” I looked up at him questionably.

“Nope. Today it’ll be just you and me.” he said looking into my eyes as the other guys made puking noises and smart remarks in the background. Luhan silenced them all short after. We both broke out into smiles as we turned to look at them.

He took me to a room across from where the guys were seated. It was completely empty except for a table in the center facing the beautiful scenery of Manila. He escorted me to my seat saying, “The view is much better at night, but you have a concert later…”

“It’s beautiful.” I interrupted him looking out.

“Welcome back young man. I haven’t seen you in years! Look at you you’re all grown up.” An older man in a chef outfit greeted Yi Fan in Korean. “Ah and who is this lovely lady?” the, I’m pretty sure, European chef asked. Yi Fan smiled at the man and answered him in a language I didn’t know grabbing ahold of my hand. I could of sworn I saw Yi Fan blush a bit. The older man smiled and laughed wildly before clasping his hands together. He then proceeded to look at me in a very fatherly way. “You’re a lucky girl, take good care of this crazy kid eh?” He smiled at me while I looked at the smiling Yi Fan. “Your meals will be out shortly.” he said before exiting the room.

“What did you tell him?” I eyed him suspiciously. He simply laughed a bit shaking his head. “The truth.” he responded evading the question completely. “And may I ask what the truth is?” I insisted. “To put it in simple terms you are my future.” He looked me directly in the eyes and held my hand tighter. I felt that strange feeling again in the pit of my stomach and my heart raced rapidly as I looked back into his eyes. I quickly looked away and took my hand back as the chef reentered the room with our food. “Enjoy young lovers.” he told us before he left us alone for the second time this morning.

“This looks delicious!” I exclaimed trying to break the awkwardness, but it really did. In front of us was a very western styled breakfast which included eggs, bread, sausage, and other very delicious delicacies. He simply smiled at me before he began to eat as well. We engaged in small talk after that, and he eventually began explaining EXO’s members role in the group.

Seeing him talk about the EXO guys was also one of my favorite things to witness. He would talk about them with such love and passion in his eyes. He told me once that these guys were his one and only true family. I tried asking about his real family once, but that conversation went south rather quickly as he stormed out of the place telling me to never bring up that subject again. And I never did. He also forbid me to ever ask specific details about the organization claiming it would be best if I knew less about the “business.”

“So like each of you guys have an area in the world you guys overlook?” I asked.

“Yeah, I guess you could look at it that way, but Suho and I make sure we oversee all activity very carefully.”

“I guess that’s why it’s hard to get all twelve of you guys together at once huh? So is there like a hierarchy system within the group?”

“Yeah I guess there is. The top would be Suho and I, and after us is are the oldest four members Xiumin, Luhan, Lay, and Baekhyun. Then under them are the youngest six. Now the world has a good idea of who we are, but we make sure the younger group is kept under the radar because if anything was to happen to us they are to take over the whole organization. The media and governments think they know who all 12 of us are, but they have no actual idea. We make sure the youngest three especially aren’t known to the world.”

I was about to ask him if he really  entrusted the whole thing to the youngest three, but a man in a bulletproof vest suddenly burst into the room panic written all over his face. “YI FAN!” Luhan yelled. Yi Fan was not to happy with our new company as he scowled at the man, “I thought I was clear that I wanted absolutely no interruptions today!”

“No this is important…” Luhan panicked before he finally noticed my presence in the room. He came closer to Yi Fan and began to speak in Mandarin. I watched as Yi Fan’s eyes grew twice in size, and his fist seemed to strangle the napkin in his grip. I couldn’t understand what they were speaking, but it didn’t take much to know that something was going awfully wrong at the moment. Yi Fan was beyond enraged as he stood up following Luhan out of the room completely forgetting my existence.

“Hey. What’s going on?” I questioned as I followed them out too. The table where the guys were seated at was now empty. Only Lay was still in the area waiting by the door for the other two men. He was holding… high artillery weapons! I looked back at Yi Fan who seemed like he was deliberating two very important life decisions at the moment.

“Yah, Lay I’m going to entrust her to you. You make sure she gets back safely! Then rush back to meet us there. Do you understand?!” he spoke to Lay with such desperation in his voice that it made my heart clench with so many emotions. Lay simply nodded firmly at his leader, and then proceeded to hand over the weapons to them. Yi Fan then looked at me giving me a small smile. “I’ll see you back in Korea.” he simply said kissing my forehead, and then flying out the doors with Luhan following close behind. I heard a car engine roar, and race away. As the engine grew fainter the panic within me grew bigger. I looked at Lay for some sort of answer, but he provided none. Moments like these were my least favorite. He’d leave with no explanation ever, and I was left worried if I’d ever see him again.

Kai oh Kai where for art thou Kim Jongin? Hmmm? To those wondering about Jongin he'll come into the story eventually just maybe not in the way you all expect hehe. Hope you guys enjoy it.
