Suspecting

Dark Prince

It was a nice day for a walk through the park alone, but Injun knew that he never was truly alone. Even now, while it would have been nice to spend that Saturday afternoon in the park, his guardian angel was tagging along. There were also the scattered sighting of both angels and demons every several minutes. By now, it was hard for Injun to remember life before he could see all these things, even the memories of those long ago times were tainted with "I know they were there." It was an amazing yet unsettling thought that even his memories were now filled with these supernatural beings, reluctant as he was to admit it.

"In any case," the Kidemonas continued his chatter, "you should be careful of that last demon that got away. What was his name?"

After a poke to his arm, Injun snapped out of his thoughts and looked at the angel in confusion.

"Are you listening, Pooh Bear?" Jin sighed like a father who was dealing with a child who had a short attention span.

"Not really," Injun admitted shyly. "What did you say?"

"I was saying you should be careful of that demon from the Band."

"Do you mean Five?" Injun shuddered at the demon's threat, still deciding whether or not to believe it. "He means to come after me, doesn't he?"

"That he does," Jin sat down with Injun on a bench where no one else seemed to want to be.

Although Husky and Ashley had wanted to spend the day with their friend, Injun felt like he needed to be alone. And he wouldn't admit it, but when he woke up that morning, there was something calling him to the park, saying he should go alone. He wasn't sure if Jin counted as someone, but he went with him anyway. Ever since then, there was a foreboding feeling deep in his gut, but Injun couldn't pinpoint what it was. A part of him wanted to confide in Jin, but a bigger part was becoming wary of the world he was now a part of, even of the angels. After all, he was supposed to save the world according to the prophecy, or so the angels thought so. Personally, Injun acknowledged himself as the Dark Prince, but whether or not he was the one prophesied about was up for debate. After all, who was to say that he was the only one that was born the way he was. Then again, Jin had specifically said tha there's no one on earth like him, and he would know.

As Injun was rubbing his temples to relieve the headache he was developing, the sound of familiar voices caught his attention from the other side of the trees and bushes he was facing. His stomach twisted as he recognized them.

"Jin," Injun's eyes grew dark and determined. "You have your Aoratos Ring, right?"

"As always," Jin held up his hand with the ring on it.

"Good."

That was the last thing the two companions said before Injun shushed the angel and snuck over to the bushes as quietly as he could. Although Jin wouldn't make a sound even if he rushed over, he lowered his wings and crawled forward as well. Injun parted just enough leaves to see through the bush he was hiding behind and looked for the voices he heard. There were people on that side, mostly sitting with picnic baskets, but he finally caught sight of a pair of supernatural beings in a nearby tree. Injun's heart caught in his throat as he recognized them.

Mika and Five.

The two were conversing heatedly, as if they were in a fight. And by Injun's judgement, it looked sort of like...a boss angry with a henchman for a botched job. He couldn't make out their words because of the distance, but they were definitely having an argument, and a long one at that. Even Jin became unsettlingly silent as he watched the scene in front of him, unable to believe what his superior could be up to mingling with a demon. Though they had agreed not to point any fingers, Injun remembered the first time he met Mika and was creeped out by the angel's near stony face and his advice to remove Jin's Aoratos Ring. The boy's gut instincts flared more than before, and this was only the second time he had seen Mika.

In absolute silence, Jin and Injun watched the unexpected argument grow a bit more violent with the two actually assaulting each other, Five always looking like a goon who didn't want to see his boss. Finally, with an angry huff, Mika faced away from the demon and muttered what was probably a threat, before he gave off a blast of light as he transported himself presumably to the angels' headquarters. The more Injun thought about it, however, the more it felt like Mika was pulling some strings backstage of this whole ordeal, and it didn't take him more than two seconds to tell Jin of his thoughts. What really chilled his bones was that Jin didn't have any counter arguments.

In fact, he almost seemed to agree.

The Monday after that, Injun hadn't seen either Mika or Five roaming about, but they were all he could think about. But now, with another trip to the post office from Jin, he just about had it with his guardian angel's refusal to reveal what he was sending. This was about the third or fourth round of packages he had sent out.

"Now I'm not going to send any more," Injun put his hands on his hips, "until you tell me what is in these things."

"Pooh Bear," Jin smiled, "you know to trust me."

"After what we've seen with Mika, I think I need more than that. I'm sorry, Jin, but I feel like it's getting a little dangerous. And who knows, you might be dangerous as well." Injun smiled at this and punched the angel's shoulder, which was returned with a smiled.

"You're right, Pooh Bear," Jin shook his head. "I've been asking you to send out supplies to other people who are in touch with their Kidemonas."

"Wait, I thought you said I was unique in the world."

"Yes, you are. Only you can speak so freely like this with your guardian angel, but there are full mortals who speak with theirs in different ways. Some have dreams or visions, others have strong inclinations, and some hear a very light voice. It all depends on the person. But I'm asking you to send things that the other Kidemonas have asked me that their mortals need."

Hearing this, Injun suddenly felt bad that he had suspected Jin so wrongly. There was a point in the last week or so that maybe he was sending things to help out the demons or something.

"Okay," Injun sighed. "I understand. Thank you for being truthful, Jin."

Jin came forward to hug the boy he had come to love so much, saying that it was completely justified. After this, Injun would try his best to trust the angel fully. They were working together, weren't they? And cooperation required trust.

This web of angels and demons was getting more and more confusing as time went by.

Chapter 25: Wow, i am surprised. I thought the Light Prince will be Jay. And I don't blame Jin. It reminds me of an anime I watched 'Amnesia' .and Jin is the boy who caused the threatening for the girl... So jin did for Pooh Bear. He wantd to help but he was making fuss and mess around..so he was mostly like a double agent and oduble-faced...
That role to Light Prince, suit for Karam perfectly though. Karam is such an Angel, really . World Bless for Having somebody like him!!
But my question is: Did you finish it because of what happens to The Boss now or Did you plan to finish it in this way?

omg.. Mika as a kidemonas angel *-*
Poor Pooh Bear he has to go through that all...
Oh! since the truth was revealed inJoon's mom seems to be ..normal? I am nto sure if that word is the correct to describe her current self probably not. But oh well, she finally brought herself to speak normally and InJoon knew from her who he really is, and well I wonder: not that i liked what i watched while being forced but the devils are torturing peoople ,without letting them survive, also if they hurt them physically. How comes i nstory you wrote Injoon's mother suffered to thepoint she beared InJoon in herself and was able to give him birth afetr all ,and also how she exist? That is soemthing, well mayeb not really unexpected to ask but i am just curious, since as I said, on the documentary movies was clearly showed what happens so yeah... you get it? I am curious so that is why I asked.
And good luck with writing next chapters ~
