Creepy
Dark PrinceInjun kept his promise to Ashley to keep her situation a secret, even from Husky. A deeper connection formed between the two, which was of course taken as love interest by Husky. Aside from that, the next few days were a bit uneventful for Injun, though he did constantly have Ashley on his mind. There was a large part of him that wanted to have Ashley stay at his house permanently, but he knew their parents wouldn't allow it. Hers were abusive, and his were never peaceful. So there was nothing he could do, other than sit and watch Ashley's forced smile, and pretend his was real too.
After school, Jin had Injun meet him in the warehouse for a talk. It was thankfully nothing as earth shattering as the Dark Prince revelation, but Jin had an air of seriousness just the same.
"I'm sorry for dragging you out here, Pooh Bear," Jin crossed his arms, the frown on his face only deepening. "But I received some unsettling news, and I'm afraid that only you can help us with this one."
"What is it, Jin?" Injun sat down on one of the hard benches, ready for anything.
"One of the Kidemonas just came to me before school ended. He said that he's been patroling a bit at night, and he came across a group of people gathering last night." Jin stopped to give a long sigh.
"And?"
"He suspects they're gathering to delve into Ouija Boards."
A shiver ran through Injun's spine as he digested those last two words. Although such things had never interested him, he now knew what was behind such acts. Demons were sure to be running wild throughout the gathering.
"Are you asking me to exorcise the place?" Injun shuddered. "Would there be quite a few demons?"
"Yes," Jin nodded. "And yes. I'll go make some preperations, you go home and have a good dinner. Prepare yourself for a good battle, Pooh Bear. I'll get you when we're ready. The session should be starting again tonight."
Before Injun could respond, Jin flew off into one direction and disappeared. There was a strange sense of dread in the pit of the boy's stomach at the thought of a Ouija Board convention. It had to be a group of bored kids who had no idea what kind of danger they were putting themselves into. Also, Injun had never fought against a group of demons, and was worried about their combined strength and abilities.
With such thoughts running through his mind, Injun walked home slowly, to somehow help clear his mind. He hardly registered the bustle of the streets. When he reached home, however, he was surprised to see his parents calmly...sitting. The sight was so rare to Injun that he stopped by the entrance of the kitchen, mouth hanging all the way open, just staring at the two. Even the couple were aware that their silence was strange, but they both smiled at their son as he walked off into his room.
In the few hours before dinner, Injun sat on his desk and diligently did his homework, from biology, to chemistry, to math, to Hanja. No one bothered him for an hour or so, but the familiar flash of unearthly light signalled him of an angelic presence. He turned around with a chuckle, saying how he wasn't expecting Jin until after dinner, but stopped when he saw who it was. This angel wasn't the sweet prince-like guardian, but an unreal, even dream-like, being with crystal blue eyes that seared through his soul.
"Hello, Dark Prince," the blue-eyed angel bowed. "My name is Mika."
"Hello," Injun hestitantly smiled, still entranced by the angel's appearance. "How can I help you?"
"I came to talk to you, if you don't mind."
"Sure. But I have one question for you. Are you a Kidemonas?"
"No," Mika shook his head. "I am from the crystal palace that Jin took you to one night. I am outside of time."
"Then--"
"I cannot reveal to you the future, I am sorry. But the war you are in--"
"What war?" Injun frowned. "All I've done is banish some demons under Jin's instruction. I haven't faced any armies or fought any battles."
"Though you feel you're doing the smallest part, you are in the holy war. We angels, even those outside of time, cannot fight and banish the demons that plague this world. But you...Dark Prince, you fight for us and do not even know how much you are helping us."
In all the time that Injun had been into this angel and demon business, he finally felt like he wasn't just a simple banisher. This angel's words had him feel like he was actually important, something even Jin never made him feel.
"But there is something else I need to tell you," Mika's blue eyes looked straight through Injun, making him feel uneasy. "It concerns your guardian angel, Jin."
"What about him?" Injun suddenly felt like he was going to throw up. "Is it serious?"
"All I've been ordered to tell you is that when the time comes, think of his Aoratos Ring."
"The ring that hides him from both angels and demons?"
"Yes."
The way Mika was speaking made Injun feel so uneasy, as if there was something wrong here. Why would one of Jin's superiours want him...unhidden? Injun knew that the Kidemonas needed to stay concealed if he were to stay with him. The Dark Prince was much too important of a person to be so easily found. Unless...could Mika be the Light Prince he would have to destroy to save the world? Then again, he didn't even know if Mika was a prince, or what his position in the angelic army was. It was too big of an accusation to make at this point.
"Thank you," Injun nodded. "Is that all?"
"Yes, Dark Prince," Mika managed to give a polite smile.
"Please don't call me that," Injun sighed. "That may be what I am, but I'm not Dark."
It was surprising to see the superior angel throw his head back and laugh, but Injun couldn't help but smile. The angel looked back and consented, promising never to refer to the Dark Prince by his official title. Injun merely wanted to be Lee Injun. When the angel went back, presumably to the angels' base, Injun went back to focusing on his homework. Although he had decided not to make any foolish assumptions, he couldn't deny that Mika sort of creeped him out. Injun tried to shake off the feeling, but he just couldn't, even as he was called to dinner.
Just as promised, Jin came to Injun sometime after dinner to lead him out. The Dark Prince was as ready as he could be.
