Chapter 5: Her Hobby

After buying coffee, Ahri immediately went to her shared apartment with her brother. The apartment was big enough for the both of them. I contained four rooms, to which two rooms were only used for both Ahri and Chanyeol. Ahri went in and walked straight through the kitchen to dispose of the coffee she had drank, then disappeared to her room. Nevertheless, it was neither too small nor too large. It was just the right size for the both of them to live in.

On the other hand, her room was neat and clean. Her walls were painted light brown, almost like gold, there was a study-desk, a queen-sized bed, 1 window, a glass door for the balcony and another door at the corner of the room for her walk-in closet. Some pictures that Ahri took was pinned at the corner of the room. Yes, she sure liked taking pictures. Somehow, after that ìncident, taking pictures from different places became her hobby.

Photography is an art of observation for Ahri. It has little to do with the things that she see and everything to do with the way she saw them. It took an instant out of time, altering life by holding still.

From natural-looking pictures of nature, to silly pictures from stolen shots of random people, and to families that had dined or hung-out in public placed were posted in the wall. All of the pictures that involved people were all clearly stolen pictures as none of them were looking at the camera – clearly. Most of the pictures though involved sad ones, like crying children as they played to children or adults with disabilities, to girls crying at tables as if their boyfriends had broken up with her previously. The pictures clearly described Ahri’s feelings as she took them. Whenever Ahri went, she was watching indeed. Even on vacations, when she was in bus stations or even in airports, she looks around, snaps pictures, and finds out how people live their lives.

Photography is simple. A person just reacts to what she sees, and takes many, many pictures. Then again, a camera is a save button for a mind’s eyes.

After placing her bag at the study table, opening it and neatly placing her books and notebooks she will be studying about later on, she went to her walk-in closet to change her clothes. She wore a navy blue shirt matched with a black high-low skirt. She then tied her long brown hair in a messy bun. One may say that the clothes she wore were simple but it did matched well with her skin tone making her more stunning. 

She had dressed herself rather professionally since then – even before the incident. She always believed that a person should rather look presentable at all times. In comparison to the ty girls that seemed to be lurking around her university, she dresses with glamour, which had seemed to be the reason as to why a lot of boys had taken a liking towards her. One couldn’t blame those boys either. The professionalism etched on her at how she dressed didn’t make her look more mature nor older. In fact, it made her look adorable at some point.
