Is Your Heart Not Shaken?

Is Your Heart Not Shaken?

I looked over across the table watching as Sabrine laughed at a story about me and Hyosang. Long gone were our burgers but the milkshake remained, so as to avoid awkwardness we decided to tell stories to each other.

“So he really got you into a Chinese dress?” I nodded as she giggles some more.

“I need to see pictures.” I immediately shook me my head in objection.

“Well if you won’t show me I’m sure Hyosang will.”

“I just won’t let him near you.”  We continued our stories until we reached the end of the milkshake, I noticed the one  cherry was now at the bottom of the cup, so I pushed it to Sabrine. I watched as she used a spoon to fish out the cherry, and hold it by the stem.

“You eat the cherry and I’ll get the stem.”  I looked up from my phone in confusion. She motion for me to open my mouth, after blushing I complied. I wrapped my lips around the cherry, while she pulled on the stem, placing it in her own mouth. And much to my amazement when she pulled it out it had been formed into a knot. I watched frozen as she on her index and then her ring finger, getting rid of some of the whip cream that was on them.

“In the states we say if you can tie a cherry stem with your tongue then you’re a good kisser.” I looked up from my phone ear a little hot, but I nodded anyway. She began texting again so I waited for the message to come.

“Do you want to walk around a bit? Or do you have to go home right away?” I quickly typed my reply.

“No let’s go.”  After we settled the bill we were out in the heat again. And once again Sabrine grabbed my hand. It wasn’t like I had never held a girls hand but something about Sabrine making the first move made my heart flutter. Hands now intertwined we made our way through the busy street. After a few minutes of walking Sabrine pulled me to a stand that sold wild looking glasses.

“You would look good in these.” As soon as I looked up a pair of glasses were placed on me. I looked in the mirror, and there on my face were huge over sized heart shaped glasses. I turned to Sabrine and noticed she too had put on the same glasses in a different color. She smiled brightly at me and I couldn’t help but return the smile.

“Let's take a picture?” It wasn’t much of a question seeing as she pulled me closer, as she pulled out her phone. I smiled as she finished her countdown, snapping the picture and then scanning it.

“We look good don’t you think?” I looked at the picture and nodded with a silly smile on my face. We looked so good that I decided to buy the glasses. So we walked around together hand in hand while checking out different stores. I noticed lots of things about Sabrine while we spent time together. I noticed she like skinship, and sweets, and too laugh. Being around her made me enjoy those things a hundred times more. And before I knew it, the sky was dark and it was time to make our way home. When we got in the cab arms full with things we brought along the way, I couldn’t help but be sad about the loss of warmth I got from Sabrine’s hand.  Half way through our ride home there was suddenly a weight on my shoulder, Sabrine had fallen asleep. If I had the chance I would keep her here forever. Hyosang was wrong, yes I had been drawn to her beauty but her smile, her laughter that’s the reason I’ll stay. I liked Sabrine so much already, but I just hoped she liked me at least half as much. If the way she acted around me was anything to go buy I think we could be a couple really soon.

As the car slowed to a stop in front of our apartment I shook Sabrine gently. She stretched a bit before following me out of the cab. She placed all of the bags in my hands so she could pay. But even when the car drove away I decided to carry her bags. As we walked into the elevator she yawned and leaned against my side, I stiffened at first but soon relaxed so she’d be comfortable. I couldn’t help but blush whenever we touched. As the elevator dinged I walked her to the door, turning around so she could punch in the security code, once unlocked I set her bags in her walk way. I turned around to the tired beauty whose eyes where half lidded to say goodnight. But before I could grab my phone I was pulled into a warm hug, and a kiss was placed on my cheek I stood there frozen as she gave me a tired smile and closed the door.

“Goodnight Seokjin I had a lot of fun, see you Monday. ^-^” I smiled finally moving from my spot, holding my phone to chest. As I made my way to my door I couldn’t get the smile off my face. She kissed me, Sabrine kissed me. I made it to my house opening the door, almost forgetting to greet my parents.

“How was the lesson today?” I looked to my father giggling slightly.

“It was wonderful, I’m going to bed now goodnight.” Without waiting for his reply I made my way to my room.  As I lay in my bed I had only one thought going around in my head.

Today was the best day of my life.
