Hollow Chapter: 14 Potential
Finally! Christmas break! Nothing could possibly ruin this day! The snow was falling outside and the air was cold and tickled with the winter feeling.
“Moka you should come with me to get a “Moka latte.” Lish says though the phone.
“Very funny, but you know as well as I do that I hate coffee.”
“Then you can get hot chocolate, just come with me!”
“Fine let me get my coat and I’ll meet you at the usual place.”
“Ok.”
So I grabbed my coat and headed out into the white powder fluff outside. I expected her to be standing there with Uruha, but she was alone. Shocking!
“Hey Moka!” she says.
“hey.” And we head inside. I got my hot chocolate and Lish got her fancy Coffee. We headed back outside.
“Man, it’s really cold out here.”
“No kidding…”
We were going to walk back to my house is what I assumed.
“Moka?”
“hmm?”
“What do you “really” think of Takanori?” Why the hell was she pulling this out of the blue all of a sudden? And she never calls him Takanori. No one does.
“Why?”
“Just answer the question. Do you really hate him?”
“Well no… he just irritates me sometimes I guess… he seems nice, but spoiled at the same time. I mean we didn’t start off very well, but now it seems like were ok… I just don’t get why he wants me instead of any other girl.”
“Moka… you love Takanori don’t you?”
“W-WHAT?!”
“Just admit it, it’s so obvious.”
“But I don’t!”
“Whatever!?!” she says walking away.
“Lish!” I say following her.
“Do you just not like bad boys or something? There so much better then shy nice boys any day.”
“Drop it will you.”
“Have you every even dated someone before?”
“Once…”
“hmm?”
“Well, you see at my old school I dated a boy. I thought he was just so perfect and that we would be together forever. That was until I saw him with another girl…”
“So? You can’t let one in the past up the rest of your life.”
“Hmm?”
“So, if this guy didn’t break your heart would you go out with Ruki?”
“One has nothing to do with the other.”
“Can’t you tell that he’s totally head over heels for you?”
“Yeah, but he probably want’s only one thing…”
“Moka, grow up, if that’s what he wanted do you honestly think that he’d be putting up with you when there are other more willing girls everywhere?”
“So.”
“Quit pouting!”
“I’m not!”
“Why don’t you try to get to know the guy a little?”
“Lish…”
“Come on Moka! He’s different! He loves you!”
“Sure…”
“Fine, fine…”
We walked in silence for awhile. Then Lish said.
“I just remembered something I have to do. See you later Moka!”
“See ya?” I said. What was with her all of a sudden trying to get me to go out with Ruki?”
RUKI POV
I leaned agents the cold wall smoking the late bit of my cigarette before throwing it on the ground. I see a figure come out of the snow.
“Lish?”
“Yeah it’s me.”
“So, why’d you call me out here?”
“Because, I think I’ve figure something out.”
“What?”
“I officially declare that Moka Kanaboshi is the Princess type.”
“You’re going to have to elaborate a little for me.”
“Ok I have a plan. Your not doing anything for Christmas are you?”
“Not really.”
“Then this will work perfectly.”
“What?”
“Come with me!”
“O-ok?”
MOKA POV
“Moka!” yells the phone.
“Lish it’s 3:00 in the morning. What could you possible want??”
“Are you doing anything today?”
“No, Why?”
“Meet me at our usual spot I have something to give you.”
“when?”
“About 5.”
“In the morning?”
“No! You get your beauty sleep and meet me later.”
“Whatever you say Lish.”
“Oh yeah, dress up a little ok?”
“Fine.”
“Ok goodnight!”
“Night.”
The next morning I spent almost the whole time thinking about what Lish said. Before I knew it, it was time for me to head out.
“Be back later Shinji.”
“ok.”
and I head out to our usual spot. I get there and don’t see anyone around.
“Lish!” I say.
“Over here.” I hear. I look and see her Uruha and Ruki walking this way.
Ruki had his hair slicked back like he was… going on a date…
“Lish!”
“Yes?”
“A word?”
“Ok.”
“Why do Ruki look like he does and you and Uruha?”
“Because Ruki and Uruha are taking us out tonight for an early Christmas Present. Oh by the way your gonna have fun or else.”
“Or else what?”
“I’ll make your life hell.”
“Sure.”
“Moka listen he’s a really nice guy. Just give him a chance for god’s sake!”
“Fine.”
