“Hey, what happened? What do you mean take Taehee on a date another time?” Mingyu said in between his breath. You shrugged and entered a café, quickly surrounded by the scent of coffee beans. You both ordered a drink and a cookie to share, as you sipped your coffee you mumbled to yourself, “That bipolar jerk, he’s-” Mingyu shot you a look, “Chan?” you nibbled on your cookie and looked out the door, “I hate him. He thinks I want sympathy? He really thinks that?” you yell, causing everyone in the store to look at you. “I’m sure he doesn’t. He’s young and he has these weird mood swings and-” he joked but you only sent him a glare. “Okay, I’m serious. He doesn’t, if anything he likes you.” Mingyu patted your arm. You scoffed and furrowed your eyebrows, “And why on earth do you think that?” you stared at the taller male who was taping his chin. “He cares about you, but he’s so oblivious just like you.” He poked your forehead after every single word. You slapped his hand away and sneered, “If anything, I hate him to death.”“Then why are you always trying to get his attention?” Mingyu choked on his own words. Your frown disappeared and you started to fidget with your fingers, “I-I don’t know…” you mumbled. It was true, why did you want that boy’s attention so much?

~~~~~~~~~~~~ On the other hand….

Chan ruffled his hair in frustration and groaned. “Why on earth did I say that?” He banged his head on the wall after every word. “Chan, don’t do that!” he heard one of his hyungs yell. He turned around and slid down against the wall, ‘Why am I acting this way? I didn’t really mean what I said… right? Why does my heart ache whenever she’s with Mingyu, so basically my heart’s always aching?’ He thought inside his head, trying to sort out all the confusion. “Chan.” a familiar voice called, he lifted his head to find Taehee walking to him nervously. “C-Can I talk to you?” she stutter over her own words, Chan nodded and followed her out into the hall. They stood in front of each other for a few seconds before Taehee began to move around uncomfortably. “C-Chan, we’ve been friends for a while now and… and I know you have heard this a lot before but…” she paused and looked up into Chan’s eyes before continuing, “But I want you to know I really like you, more than a friend and… I hope you’ll give me a shot. I hope you’ll consider going out with me.” She mumbled the last part, but Chan still managed to hear her. His eyes widened in shock and thought, ‘Taehee’s a nice girl. I also have to get my mind off of things -Ayun. Maybe it won’t be so bad to go out with Taehee.’ Chan smiled at the girl below him and answered, a little hesitantly, “I’ll go out with you.”

You’ve arrived back at the practice room and it seems as though everyone has gathered. You walked in with Mingyu trailing behind, finally noticing that Chan and Taehee were in the middle of the whole circle. You stood behind Jihoon and peaked over his shoulders whispering, “What’s going on?” you suddenly jumped back when Jihoon let out a terrifying screech, “AYUN! YOU SCARED ME!” you chuckled nervously now that everyone attention was on you. Jihoon shook his head and dragged you to stand in front of him, resting his arms on top of your shoulders. You stared at how Chan and Taehee’s hands were intertwined, that made you feel a little uneasy. “So… we both have something to tell you all.” Chan began uneasily, giving Taehee a signal to continue, and so she did, “Me and Chan… We’re going out!” she blurted out excitedly. The room stayed quiet and everyone’s eyes fell on you. You simply ignored their stares and clapped, “Congratulations!” you blurted out while ignoring the suddenly jab in the heart. Soon people joined in, but you still felt Mingyu’s eyes linger on you before staring at Chan.  

You were walking down the hall when someone suddenly pulled you into an empty staff room. The lights flickered on and everyone stood there staring, you scanned the room but you couldn’t find Chan or Mingyu. You rolled your eyes and sat down, “Okay, what do you guys want?” you asked, a little irritated. “What on earth do you mean ‘What do you guys want?’ Were you deaf or something? CHAN IS DATING TAEHEE!” Junghan blurted out, your eyebrows raised ‘Wow, that was the first time he has ever yelled.’ “Don’t you feel something? Anything like… I don’t know, sadness? Frustration? Mad? Jealous?” Hansol questioned while knitting his eyebrows together in a cute manner. “No… Why?” you asked, suddenly feeling a little intimidated. Suddenly the peaceful room was filled with groans, English swears words and Chinese gibberish. You looked around confused and you eyes lingered on Soonyoung, silently mouthing the words ‘What on earth?’ he rolled his eyes and started to walk out of the room. Everyone followed suit but you just stared at the retreating figures. Wonwoo suddenly stopped in front of you and leaned forward, narrowing his eyes at you. You leaned your head back and raised you right eyebrows, “May I help you?” you asked. He tilted his head and stared at you before beginning in a hushed voice, “You liked Chan don’t you?” you placed your hands in front of you and pushed your chair back, “Whoa there, who said I did?” Wonwoo smirked and examined his nails, “Did you perhaps… feel as though someone jabbed a knife through your heart when Taehee announced they were dating?” You thought for a second, quickly dismissing your thoughts when Wonwoo leaned forward again, forehead touching forehead. “I won’t tell anyone.” He whispered, his breath touched you lips and sent shivers down your body, “…Yea.” You answered barely above a whisper. Wonwoo snickered and straightened up his posture, “Wasn’t that hard now was it?” he waved goodbye and closed the door behind him. ‘What on earth just happened?’

                You sat against the wall comfortably, your mind drifting off to another place, instead of reading the book in front of you. ‘And I thought he cared, and I thought he was different. Those kisses he gave me on my cheek were all jokes? When he said he cared about me was all a lie? All he cared about was himself. He’s just like everyone else, self centered and blind. He’s a complete idiot!’ you yelled inside your head. You looked up from your book and oh how much you wish you hadn’t, you spotted Taehee kissing Chan on the cheek before blushing madly. The jabbing in your heart began again and it felt as though it had jumped out of your body and flew away the moment Chan returned the kiss.

You were strolling down the hallway, trying to clear your mind before hearing Taehee’s voice around the corner, “Oppa.” She began. You turned the corner to find Taehee leaning against the wall while talking to Chan. Chan’s back was faced towards your direction so he didn’t see you coming, instead Taehee spotted you leaning against the wall too. You noticed her little smirk before she began to talk, “Channie Oppa, I know you’re friends with Ayun Unni. But I think I should tell you something about her.” Your eyes widened but you didn’t attempt to stop her, ‘Ayun, if you try to stop her she wins. She just wants a scene.’ You thought as she continued, “She didn’t actually run away from home, her father’s actually a criminal, and she was actually out in the streets drinking the other day. She-” She paused and glanced towards your direction. Chan shook his head, “Taehee, I don’t know where you heard this but I’m sure it isn’t true.” You smirked at his remark. “Oppa, she told me herself.” Chan tilted his head, “Why would she tell you?” Taehee’s eyes widened and it began to water, “S-She told me she had no one to reply on. She apologized the other day for punching me, and we became friends. She told me this because she didn’t want to keep the secret inside of her anymore. I’m telling you this because you’re close friends with her and I’m worried for you safety. I don’t want you to get hurt oppa.” She looked down and wiped away her fake tears. You scoffed silently, noticing her smirk when Chan couldn’t see her face. Suddenly Chan turned around and his eyes widened, “A-Ayun, why are you here?” he stuttered and panic was written all over his face. You took a deep breath and pretended to think, “Oh really, nothing much. I was actually listening to a very interesting story here. Taehee, please do continue the story about me and my past.” You faked a smile and both of them knew. Your smile vanish and you eyebrows raised, your voice suddenly dropping an octave, “No really Taehee, I want to know the end of this story.” Taehee continued her crappy acting, “Oppa, I’m scared. What I’m saying is true, you have to believe me!” she pleaded while tears began to fall, when she noticed Chan wasn’t giving her a response she began to tug on Chan’s sleeve. Chan released her grip on his arm and sighed, “Taehee, don’t worry about me. Thank you for warning me but I can handle myself, go clean up before going back in okay?” Taehee nodded innocently and shuffled towards the bathroom, quickly turning around and mouthing curse words behind his back. You turned your attention to the practice room door and headed towards the direction, suddenly Chan grabbed your wrist and made you stop beside him, “Ayun, stop it.” You stared a head before answering, “Stop what?” Chan let go of your wrist and made you face him, “Stop acting cool okay?” you scoffed and narrowed you eyes at him, “What makes you think I’m acting?” Chan scoffed and turned his head to the right then back at you, “I’m not as stupid as you think I am.” You took a deep breath before answering, “Oh, you’re much stupider than you think you are.” With that you entered the practice room, leaving Chan alone in the halls. And Mingyu finally stepped out of his hiding place.
