{Jisoo's P.O.V}

I rip the key to Alex’s house out of my pocket and shove it into the lock. Why the hell did I run from that guy? I’m not afraid of him anymore…I’m not. I’m not afraid of anyone anymore…so why did I run? I blow the hair out of my face and push the door open. “SURPRISE!!!!” Taemin shouts, shooting confetti in my face. “REALLY TAEMIN?!” I snap unintentionally. Alex, Taemin and some random kid I don’t even know just stare at me in shock, the smiles disappearing from their faces. Taemin actually looks hurt and that wasn’t my intention. “I’m sorry…I’m just—today’s not a good day for me okay?” I explain, spitting bits of confetti out of my mouth. “We just wanted to surprise you.” The unknown kid says, he looks surprisingly hurt as well. “Yeah! Why are you so upset all of a sudden?” Taemin adds. I smile. “I know. Next time okay? I’ll act really surprised next time.” I ruffle his hair before heading upstairs and retreating to my safe and peaceful room. I sit at the computer desk and just stare at the screen, stretching my arms behind my head and closing my eyes. I didn’t want to think about anything. I just wanted to relax in this quiet…comfortable………………..warm………………………. “RRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGG!!” I roll my eyes, knowing that I could never be at peace for more than 5 seconds anymore. I think about not picking it up but I felt as if it would only get louder if I didn’t sooooo…. “Hello?” “Hey Jisoo, you’re familiar with Kang Minji right?” a voice asks. I frown. “Uh, who’s this?” I ask. The person sighs. “Really? Have we not spoken in that long?” she asks. I’d recognize that attitude anywhere. “Oh…no greeting? Just right into conversation, huh?” I ask. “Yeah, hello, so I overheard---no, there’s a rumor that Minji and Chief are planning something.” Rachel responds. For some reason she was whispering. “That’s new?” I ask her. “Jisoo, this is not a joke!” she snaps. “Okay, okay! What’s with the attitude?” I ask her. “And how do you know what Chief and Minji are planning?” “I don’t know what they’re planning! I just don’t want you guys to get caught in the midst of it!” Rachel whispers. “Why are you yelling at me and whispering at the same time?!” I snap. “Why do you pay so much attention to the parts that aren’t important?” Rachel asks. I sigh. This girl…. “Okay, so are you warning me right now?” I ask her. “You haven’t popped up in almost a month and you finally call, but it’s to warn me?” At first Rachel says nothing. “Okay Jisoo. If it makes you feel better…though I have no time…how’s life going for you?” she asks sarcastically. “Do you really want to know, or are you being funny?” I ask, even though I know the answer. “I’m just being funny. SO…. you moved in with Alex right?” she asks. “How’d you know?” I ask. “I have my ways.” She responds. “Ya, are you stalking me?” I ask, looking out of my window. Rachel laughs. “Alex says that you’ve been ignoring his calls.” I tell her. “Well….yeah.” she replies. “Did you guys fight?” I ask. “Not exactly…could you not tell him that I called you?” she asks. I frown. “Why are you being so secretive? I’m your brother…remember?” I tell her. “LITTLE brother, you don’t have to know all of the details.” she concludes. “But you and Alex tell each other everything.” I add. She sighs, I could tell I was aggravating her but I had way too many questions to stop now. “Is it because Joon doesn’t like you talking to him? Is Joon seriously still mad at Alex?” I continue. “Who knows? Who cares?” she says. “You’re mean.” I conclude, not knowing what else to say. “Baby.” Rachel laughs. Suddenly, I hear footsteps coming up the stairs, and my door flies open. “That’s Rachel isn’t it?” Alex asks calmly. “I—I, uh...” I stammer. “Hang up the phone!” Rachel whispers. “Don’t worry, I don’t want to talk to you either!” Alex says loud enough for her to hear. “Good!” Rachel shouts back. “Fine!” Alex shouts back, snatching the phone from my hands and hanging it up.”  I just stare at him in shock. “Should I be worried?” I ask. He shakes his head. “We’re not on good terms right now.” He explains. I nod. “So you guys did fight.” I conclude. “Not exactly…so what’s with you today?” he asks leaning on the desk. “I’m fine.” I lie. “Yeah? Your outburst downstairs says otherwise.” Alex says. “Does it?” I respond. Alex just looks at me for a while, as if trying to read me. “That kid from high school…the one who almost killed you…are you still afraid of him?” he asks. I’m at lost for words. “H—how…what makes you think that?” I scoff. Alex just stares again. “I saw him today….have you been….” “WHY WOULD I BE IN CONTACT WITH SOMEONE WHO PUSHED ME OFF OF A SCHOOL BUILDING?!!!!” I shout. “NO, I’M NOT SCARED OF HIM!!! DO I WANT TO KILL HIM? OF COURSE! BUT IN ORDER TO KEEP FROM DOING SOMETHING STUPID, I RAN! I DIDN’T RUN BECAUSE I WAS SCARED!!!!!” Alex just looks at me and I stare back, breathing heavily.  “Well, that answers my question. Are you coming down for dinner?” he asks. I look at him in confusion. “Did you not hear a word I said?” I ask him. “How could I not? You practically let everyone on our block know. Besides, I could tell you’ve been thinking about that for some time. A man needs his space…I understand. Oh, remind me never to ask you a personal question in the same house…or country, as the kids. Okay?” Alex concludes exiting. I didn’t know whether I should be confused or angry but I was sure relieved that I had gotten that off of my chest. I just hope that I really don’t see that guy again. Now that I figured out what the problem really was and how I really felt, I might eventually try to follow through with it. With that kind of hatred inside, I could hurt somebody.
