I pour another glass of for the drunken ahjussi in front of me and unwillingly listen to his never-ending story of his divorce. “Aigoo….aigoooo…I miss my Sunghi…..” he cries, repeatedly banging on the seat beside him. I don’t say anything. I am not permitted to say anything. I feel bad for the guy though…he seemed to really love this Sunghi, but he was extremely drunk. “You know...you kind of look like her.” He says, eyes extremely low. I look down uncomfortably. I didn’t want to be compared to some old guy’s divorced wife. “Same eyes…” he begins, scooting closer to me. “Same nose…same lips..” he continues, running his hand down my face then running his fingers along my lips. I jerk my head away from his touch. He seemed to have expected that because he smiles. “Sunghi used to do that.” He says. I look at him in terror. Did Sunghi even love him? He runs his hands along my legs causing me to shriek but that didn’t stop him. Instead he moves closer.  “Ah-ahjussi!” I shout struggling to escape his grasp. The smell of alcohol was strong on his breath. “Don’t move.” He orders, inches from my face. I push him hard. “ MAYBE THIS IS WHY SUNGHI LEFT YOU!!! WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO MAKE A WOMAN DO SOMETHING SHE DOESN’T WANT?!!” I shout. The ahjussi looks at me as if I’m crazy. “YOU CRAZY BI—‘’ he begins before charging towards me. I kick him in the stomach before he could get any closer causing him to double over, vomiting.  I cover my mouth shocked at what I’ve done. “I-I’m sorry! You- You shouldn’t charge at someone like that!” I say before grabbing my bag and hurrying out of the bar. I can’t believe that this is my life now. I needed to escape and I needed to escape soon before someone actually gets hurt.

Haneul stumbles through the door and kicks off her shoes. I frown. “You okay?” I ask her. She glares at me. “Are you okay? Why are you so optimistic about living this way? There’s never a time that I’m okay anymore!” she snaps. I’m taken aback. “Well, what do you want to do? I can help you escape but I’m not leaving.” I tell her, brushing one of the younger girl’s hair. Haneul frowns at me. “Ya…are you seriously okay with living this way?” she asks in disbelief. I sigh. “Stop by tomorrow honey okay? We’ll talk more then.” I tell the younger girl. “Okay unnie.” She says before getting up and leaving. I turn my attention back to Haneul. “Haneul, it’s not that I’m okay with living here…I just…I don’t want to put anyone else in danger.” I explain. “How does that make any sense? If we both escape now, what can they do to us?” she asks. I shake my head. “You don’t understand…he’ll go after Jisoo and Alex. Alex has a son, he should be focusing on him and Joon…who knows what he’d do to Joon if he’d ever return.” I tell her. “Rachel I can’t stay, but I can’t leave you either….” Haneul says. “You can and you will. Once you’re out I’ll figure out something else. I’m not quite sure yet…” I’m interrupted by a glass cup flying across the room inches room my face. “What are you talking about doing?!” A chilling voice shouts. I turn around to see Minji staring at me menacingly.” H-how did you…?” I begin before she storms over and slaps me. I’m surprised that that’s all she did so I just stand there. “You really are stupid.” She growls. I don’t even look at her, I just stare at the ground. “Every room in this building is monitored, there is no privacy.” She continues. I see Haneul out of the corner of my eye and wave her off. I know she was fuming right about now. “Why do you care? Don’t you want us to get caught?” she shouts. Minji smiles and turns to her. “Of course I do, but there are things I need to do to survive here as well. If you’re going to tell secrets, be smart about it.” She says. I was so confused. Was Minji…helping us? “Why are you telling us this now? Won’t you be held accountable for giving advice?” Haneul asks. “ I’ve momentarily shut the monitors off. Do you seriously think I’m as stupid as you?” she scoffs, walking towards the door. “Oh, and I’m NOT helping you. I just want you out of my way.” She adds before exiting. When she’s gone Haneul and I just stare at each other. What exactly did Minji have up her sleeve?
