Alex (Taegu)

Finito (maybe Reposts and Continuations on on tumblr!!)

{Alex's P.O.V}

"Appa!..." Taemin whines, pulling my arm. "Ani." I reply simply. "One kimbap roll please." I tell the ajusshi at the stand. "Appa!" Taemin continues, on the verge of tears. "Ya, stop this, okay? I said no." I tell him sternly. "But you have all the money in the world!" he cries. "I don't, and when a parent says no it means no." I conclude, taking the kimbap from the man. After that I pick up a craszy amount of extra supplies. Teamin says nothing but makes sure to make his attitude known. I had to tell him to stop kicking things several times before it finally reached his brain. I don't know what his mother allowed him to do when he was with her but his behavior is unacceptable with me. Taemin pouts all the way out the door but I ignore it and put my arm around his shoulder. " Ya...is it really that bad?" I ask him. He nods and I sigh. This kid. "Sure I have money but that money's for the house and bills...clothes, food... You can have some things you want but not all, Taemin." I explain. He huffs and crosses his arms. "Even the poor kids at school get things they want." he mumbles which causes me to stop in my tracks. "what?" I ask him. "Junhyun, Hyomin, and Gongho get new stuff all the time and they're poor." he clarifies. Wow. Little five and six year olds are competing over wealth? I unlock the car and he climbs in behind me. "Taemin-ah, money isn't all that great." I tell him. I don't want him to have the same life or anything similar to the one I had. I see him pout through the rearview mirror. "Mom would get it for me." he mumbles. I don't respond. I can't respond. He doesn't speak at all the entire ride home and I don't make him. When I pull into the driveway I see Rachel waiting on the porch. "Aunt!" Taemin exclaims, hopping out of the car. I grab the shopping bags from the passenger seat and get out. "What's up?" I ask, closing the car door and locking it. She looks up holding Taemin and shrugs. "Can't I visit a friend?" she asks. "You could call a friend first so you're not waiting outside." I answer walking past her to unlock the house door. "It's okay. I'm not in a rush." she replies. I push the door open and flick on the lights. "Taemin, you don't look happy. What's the matter?" she asks as I set the bags down onto the kitchen counter. "He shrugs. "I'm mad at him." he says, pointing to me. "what? Why?" she asks, turning to me as I'm unloading the bags. " He's mad because I won't get him some stupid game he wanted." I answer. "Not some game! Everyone has one!" he shouts at me. "Everyone except you, huh?" I say back. "Tae, if an adult, especially your father says no it means no. You can't get upset. Okay?" Rachel says putting him down and kneeling to his height. He nods, but still appears to be upset. She smiles, pulling him into a hug. "Good. Since you took it so well I'll get you the toy." she says. "It's a game." I correct. She sticks her tongue out at me. "Jinja?!" Taemin exclaims in excitement. She nods and he tackles her with a hug. "Alright, alright, but remember what I said next time, okay?" she adds, patting his back. He nods. "Thank you aunt!" he says before running upsatirs to his room. She stands and puts her hands on her hips. "That kid.." she sighs before heading over to me in the kitchen. "So what's up?" she asks leaning on the table in front of me. I continue to unload the bags. "I could ask you the same thing." I say, taking out a couple of Bom Duyus I didn't remember picking up. "That Taemin." I mumble, setting them down onto the table. Rachel smiles and takes a seat, completely ignoring my previous question. "Well?" I ask her, crossing my arms. "What?" she asks fiddling with a saltshaker. "Is it Joon?" I ask her. She rolls her eyes. "Seriously? Why does everything have to be about Joon? I missed my friends!" she says. "So it's about Joon." I conclude, taking the saltshaker from her.. "Did you guys fight?" I ask. She shrugs. "Maybe....maybe not. I don't know." she answers. I frown. "How don't you know? Aren't you still in contact with each other?" I ask. "Aren't you?" she asks back. I shrug. "Last time we talked he said he needed time. He's working pretty hard." I tell her. Rachel nods. "Understandable." she says but doesn't sound sincere. "Ya. What's really going on?" I ask seriously. "We'll soon find out." she replies blankly.

Chapter 22: This is really good. Even though it still has the mystery of why each character is connected it's easy to follow.
