“HYUNNIE!’’ The lady exclaimed while hugging the tall man.

“Oh Eunhye-ah…”

“I missed you so much!” She said while still hugging him.

When she finally let him go, she held his hand and made her way inside. She noticed a pair of small pink slippers for the house and smiled thinking that Seunghyun got them for her. When inside, she turned back to face him.

“I haven’t been here in forever. Hye Yoon unnie told me she moved out; I guess I can sleep over more often now.” Eunhye said this while moving closer to Seunghyun, grabbing a hold of his waist. Her voice was much more seductive than usual.

“Oh yeah I guess. Haha.” Seunghyun was so confused, he didn’t know she’d be home this fast.

“What happened? You’re not happy to see me?” Eunhye said with a pout on her lips.

“N-no, no I’m just confused. You were supposed to come back next week. You told me that yesterday when we spoke on the phone.” Seunghyun’s face showed his obvious surprise and Eunhye couldn’t help but laugh at how cute he was.

“I LIED! I wanted to surprise you, I’m guessing it worked.” Eunhye felt accomplished and was proud of herself. She finally let go of Seunghyun’s waist and looked around. Then she noticed the T.V. on, and it was playing a drama.

“You watch I Hear Your Voice? Didn’t you say you hate these dramas?”

“Oh, uh I was just flipping through the channels and then you came so yea it just stopped on that.”

“Oh. You should watch it though, I love Lawyer Cha.” Seunghyun couldn’t help but compare her likes to Dara’s likes, which apparently was Park Soo Ha.

“Seunghyunnnnn”

“Hm?” He turned his attention back to Eunhye.

“Didn’t you miss me?”

“Y-yeah I did. Why are you asking me that?” Seunghyun was now standing there playing with his fingers. When he wasn’t thinking of certain someone, he was acting like her.

Eunhye walked over to him and held his hands, intertwining their fingers. “Then why haven’t you kissed me yet? That’s always the first thing you do when you see me.” She had a point. Seunghyun always showed how much he missed her through the use of hugs and kisses.

“Oh, it’s because I thought you’d be tired…”

“Well I’m not.” She stood on her tippy toes and gave him a peck on the lips and smiled at him. He returned that smile and kissed her back. Her arms went around his neck and pulled him down to her level. He gave her a deeper kiss and his hands left hers to wrap around her back. She pulled him closer and kissed back passionately, and like that Seunghyun forgot his worries. They both walked inside his room and they soon forgot their conversation and were lost in each other’s touch. Eunhye sat herself on his lap and continued where they left off in the living room.

In the other room, Dara had arrived home with Chinese food in her hands. It was her treat to Seunghyun today to thank him for his help and to congratulate herself for getting a job. She was now working in a café called Café Bene in Gangnam where she would serve people drinks. Dara couldn’t be any more satisfied with her job. She had always dreamed of doing normal jobs her whole life and now she would finally get to do it. As she entered the house, she noticed her slippers weren’t there but didn’t think too much of it. She expected to see Seunghyun in the living room not really doing anything but found no one in there. Then she realized he was probably in his room. She set down the food and her purse and walked over to his door about to knock but noticed it was slightly open. She opened it without hesitation while saying “Seunghyun I got food for both of us, come and eat I have something to tell you…” The last word was a whisper because of the shock she was going through because of the sight in front of her. A woman, who she connected to be Eunhye, was sitting on Seunghyun’s lap kissing him. His hair was slightly messed up, the top buttons to her shirt were ed, and his hands were on her legs.

“Oh I’m so sorry I didn’t know he had a guest and sorry!” Before Dara could continue rambling on, she stopped herself and got out of the room. In the living room she started jumping around while freaking out over what she saw. Despite all this she couldn’t help but feel sad over the sight and be slightly jealous of the lady in his room. Dara also thought he got over whatever problem he was going through yesterday, to be doing what he was doing right now.

In the bedroom, Seunghyun immediately pushed off Eunhye, surprised at the fact that Dara was home so soon from her interviews until he saw what time it was; 2:35. Eunhye was just as surprised and angry as well, thinking Seunghyun was cheating on her.

“Who the hell is that Seunghyun? And why is she in your house? I’m gone for three weeks Seunghyun, three weeks and you’re already cheating on me?!” Eunhye was screaming now and Seunghyun realized why he had all those thoughts in the first place, Eunhye always jumped to conclusions without hearing the whole story.

“Yah Choi Seunghyun, answer me! Who the hell is she?”

“Alright Eunhye, stop screaming.” Seunghyun knew the situation looked bad, but he did nothing wrong so screaming wouldn’t help anybody. However, right when he was about to answer her, she left the room to find Dara still freaking out.

“Yah who the hell are you? And why the hell are you in my boyfriend’s house?” Eunhye made it known that she was angry and Seunghyun was hers, just hers. Dara was just staring at her, confused at what she was getting at.

“W-what?” Dara didn’t know why she was screaming, she thought Seunghyun already told Eunhye about her.

“Eunhye, stop yelling at her.” Seunghyun was now in the living room as well and he noticed how speechless Dara was.

“Oh now you’re defending her? How long have you been together?”

Now it was Dara who spoke up, she finally understood what Seunghyun’s girlfriend was trying to say.

“Excuse me?”

“Don’t act dumb, how long have you two been going behind my back?” Seunghyun couldn’t take how rude Eunhye was being to Dara without even hearing the whole story.

“Alright enough Eunhye-ah! Will you actually hear the whole thing before you jump to conclusions?” Both women stared at Seunghyun quietly because of how serious his tone sounded. Dara had never heard him yell before, and it was something she didn’t want to see again.

“Dara and I are not dating behind your back; I am not cheating on you. She is in my house because she’s my new roommate. Hye Yoon noona moved out and gave her room to Dara.”

There was silence after Seunghyun cleared the air, but Eunhye still had a hard time believing what was told to her. She faced Seunghyun while crossing her arms. “You really expect me to believe that? Then why didn’t you tell me that you were living with another girl yesterday?”

This time Dara looked up at Seunghyun as well, she had thought he told his girlfriend about her. Dara did not like the way Eunhye accused her of having an affair, but she understood why Eunhye was having such a hard time grasping the whole situation.

“I don’t know I guess I forgot. You called so suddenly yesterday that I didn’t really know what to say. It’s not like we did anything wrong anyway for it to be on the top of list of the things I have to tell you.” Seunghyun was getting really tired of this conversation and really wished they could move on. Eunhye however, did not want to move on. She walked over to face Dara.

“You need to move out.” Eunhye told Dara with no hesitation in her voice and Dara stood there not believing the words coming out of the woman’s mouth.

“Why would I have to move out? Do you really not trust your boyfriend enough to leave him in the same house as me?” Dara was getting irritated that they were still talking about this topic.

“Watch your mouth; I’m older than you, so you better respect me. As for what you said, I trust my boyfriend very much; it’s you who I don’t trust.” Dara couldn’t help but roll her eyes.

“Don’t worry about me; I’m not the type to go after men who are taken, especially if they have girlfriends as annoying as you.” Seunghyun knew he shouldn’t be doing this, but he couldn’t help but smirk at Dara’s answer.

“You really don’t know who you’re talking to, do you? I can probably buy you and your whole family 100 times with a price you couldn’t even dream about.” Dara gave the woman a fake scared look and then clapped at her words.

“Oh do you want a cookie for that? I don’t care how much money you have, this apartment is now partially mine, for I paid for it. I’m not going to move out just because some girl can’t trust her boyfriend.” Eunhye was very close to slapping Dara, but she controlled herself knowing it wasn’t the right approach and so she turned to Seunghyun and told him to make her leave. She however, wasn’t expecting the answer that left his mouth.

“I’m not going to make her leave.” Dara gave Eunhye a ‘told-you-so’ smile.

“WHAT? Why the hell not?” Eunhye was fuming now because she can tell she would lose the argument soon, and Dara would win.

“Because, Dara’s right. She paid for the apartment so she gets to live here. Plus it wasn’t me who gave her the apartment, it was my noona and no way in hell am I going to go against her.” It was already an order from Hye Yoon to leave Dara alone and he was going to obey it.

“If we’re done here, may I go eat now? I’m starving.” Dara gave Eunhye a mocking smile and walked away to the kitchen where she left her food. From the kitchen Dara called out “there’s enough food for the three of us, I’m willing to share if you guys want some as well.” Seunghyun smiled at Dara’s behavior and was about to walk towards the food where he can almost taste the food because of the delicious aroma, when Eunhye held him back.

“Where do you think you’re going?”

“To the food,” Seunghyun was confused, where else would he be going.

“Are you serious? After the way she just spoke to me?” Eunhye’s pride was hurt by Dara’s words.

“She didn’t say anything wrong, plus you were just as rude to her, if not more.”

“Why are you siding with her?! I’m your girlfriend, not her.”

Seunghyun let out a sigh because all he wanted to do was eat. “I never said you weren’t Eunhye, and I’m not siding with anyone right now. I just think you blew this whole situation out of proportion. I’m sorry for not telling you about Dara sooner but she’s only been here for 3 days, just 3 days. Now will you calm down?”

“I am not going to calm down until she moves out.”

“She’s not moving out Eunhye. Period. Now get over it.” Eunhye was surprised at the tone Seunghyun was using with her. He sounded scary and angry, which he was.

“Why do you want her to stay so badly anyway?” Eunhye gave Seunghyun an accusing look and he was so close to just walking out on her but he didn’t.

“Because she just moved from Busan, she has no family here in the city, where else would she stay? I’m her only friend here so far. Can’t you just trust me? It’s getting really annoying having to repeat myself.” Eunhye was scared she might be losing Seunghyun, and therefore, decided to let the situation go for now.

“I do trust you! Fine, sorry she can stay whatever, I don’t care.”

“Thank you, now can we go eat now? I’m hungry.”

“No you can go eat, I’m going home. I’m tired. Bye.” Seunghyun knew she was still mad about the situation but he made no attempt to hold her back.

“Alright then bye.” She walked past him and Dara who said “aw leaving already?” to her shoes and out the door.

Seunghyun came into the kitchen and found Dara sitting at the table eating her noodles.

“Is there any left for me? I kinda haven’t eaten since the morning.”

“But I told you there were leftovers in the fridge!” Dara immediately got up to give him a plat full of noodles.

“I know, I just um kinda lost track of time when Eunhye came…” When Eunhye’s name was brought up they went through an awkward silence until Seunghyun spoke up.

“I’m sorry for the way she spoke to you, she just has a habit of getting a little worked up. It was my fault i should’ve told her about you.”

“Yeah, you should have, but it’s fine I didn’t mind the way she spoke to me. Is she still mad?”

“Well she said she didn’t care, but yeah she’s still mad. Oh well she’ll get over it.” There was that awkward silence again. The whole house was quiet except for the occasional slurping of the noodles.

“So why the food today?” Seunghyun took a break from eating and decided to spark up a conversation.

“Oh it’s my way of thanking you for yesterday and… I got a job.” Dara said the last part with a smile on her face that Seunghyun swore made her glow.

“REALLY? Congratulations! Where are you working?”

“I got a job at a café called Café Bene in Gangnam. I’ve always wanted to work at a café ever since I was a child. I know it’s a weird dream but it always seemed so nice to me and the atmosphere of the café was really friendly.”

“Hey, any job that makes someone happy is a good job. But wait, Café Bene? In Gangnam?”

“Yeah, why?”

“My friend owns that café, I go there often.”

“Your friend is Kim Jaejoong?! He’s the one who gave me the job.”

“Yeah I’ve known him since elementary school, we grew up together.”

“Wow, is he a nice person?”

“Yeah, he’s really chilled out and talented. The dude’s got one of the best voices I have ever heard of. His parents are just as rich as mine but he didn’t want to go into his dad’s business, so he made his own, and it’s doing really well.”

“It seems like you respect him a lot.”

“I do. He made it far on his own terms, and I’m jealous of that.”

“Wow he has such a nice personality and a beautiful face.” Dara unintentionally blurted out the last part out loud and automatically covered with her hands. Seunghyun laughed at her reaction finding it cute, but inside he wished she had the same thoughts about him.

“Please don’t tell him I said that, it’ll be so awkward.” Seunghyun continued to laugh at how desperate she sounded.

“I’ll try not to.”

“What does that mean?!” Seunghyun couldn’t help but breaking into laughter once again. When he finally stopped laughing he assured her he wouldn’t tell him.

“When do you start work?”

“Tomorrow, from 9 AM- 8 PM.”

“Wow that’s like my schedule. Well, congratulations Dara. I expect free drinks by the way.”

“Your friend owns the place, why do I have to get you free drinks?”

“Well now my other friend works there. We are friends aren’t we?” Seunghyun looked at her with expectant eyes hoping she’d say yes.

“No, who said that?” Dara felt as if it was the perfect moment to .

“What?” Seunghyun thought she was being serious.

Dara looked at his sad expression and burst into laughter, surprising Seunghyun.

“HAHA. Your face! You want to be my friend that badly huh? I’m not surprised, I’m pretty charming.” Dara joked around.

“Please what charms?”

“Yah!” Dara kicked Seunghyun under the table and he screamed out in pain. Dara looked back at him with a smug look on her face, proud of her actions.

“Exactly.” Dara got up to wash her plate when she noticed Seunghyun behind her. Then the moments after that, everything happened really fast. Seunghyun grabbed the sink hose and aimed it at Dara’s face leaving her to be drenched, freezing, and screaming at Seunghyun to stop. When he finally stopped he saw just how drenched she was and felt bad thinking she was mad at him. When he was about to apologize, Dara grabbed the hose herself and aimed it at Seunghyun, getting him wet from head to toe. She was laughing with full delight and Seunghyun couldn’t help but smile at how lovely her laugh sounded. When she had her own share of fun, she stopped and said “now, we’re even.” They both looked around at the mess they made and laughed again but stopped soon after they realized they had to clean it up themselves. Seunghyun brought out a mop and some tissues and they both began to clean. While cleaning Seunghyun realized he didn’t have Dara’s number and made the decision to make sure he got it.

“Hey Dara…”

“Hm?” She looked up at him to see him staring at her.

“I just realized, I never got your number.”

“Oh. Oh wow, I guess that’s true. Go get your phone I’ll give it to you.”

After they both exchanged numbers, Seunghyun suggested something.

“You should name me oppa on your phone.” He was only half joking when he said this.

“WHAT? Why would I do that?”

“Well I’m older than you.”

“No you’re not.”

“Yes I am, I’m 26.”

“Oh… I’m 24.”

“Exactly.”

“I’m not gonna name you oppa on my phone.”

“Fine, then what are you gonna name me?”

Dara thought for a while and then smiled up at him when she thought of a good name.

“Tabi!”
