The next morning Dara woke up well rested and moved to her side wanting to see Seunghyun, but the space next to her was empty. She sat up as she called out his name. There was no response, and neither was there any sound coming from the bathroom. Dara was confused and slightly scared that maybe Seunghyun left after yesterday’s drama but something caught her eye. It was a small yellow post it on the mirror. She walked up to it and could see it was in Seunghyun’s handwriting.

Don’t worry I didn’t leave. I had some business to deal with and I’ll be back in an hour. I love you, so stop thinking what you’re thinking.

He ended the short message with a crooked smiley face, his signature. As she read the last words again Seunghyun entered the room. He looked happy to see her, as did she.

“Hey you’re awake” he said as he came closer to kiss her forehead.

“Mhm, where’d you go?” Dara looked up at him as she wrapped her arms around his waist bringing them even closer.

“I got a call from work and there were some complications. I went down to the café downstairs so I didn’t wake you. Why? Did you miss me?”

“Not really, I just missed my pillow.” Dara basically used his body as her bed.

“You know, sometimes I think you’re only with me for my body.” Seunghyun feigned a hurt frown as he held her at arm’s length. She turned her back to him as she walked towards the bathroom.

“Of course. I thought you knew that by now.” Dara stopped at the door and looked over her shoulder to wink at Seunghyun. Seunghyun ran towards the bathroom door and Dara let out a loud squeal as she scrambled to close the door before he could come inside.

“That’s just rude!” He was at the door now with his hands on the knob, she locked the door.

“I’ll be out in 30 minutes, can you order some breakfast?”

“Tsk, you use me for my body and selfless personality.” Seunghyun could hear her laugh through the door. He was glad she was feeling better after yesterday.

After they ate their breakfast Seunghyun asked Dara what she wanted to do.

“Can we go biking?”

“Biking?”

“Yeah. I’ve always wanted to go when I would have events here but my manager wouldn’t let me because he said it would be ‘safe.’ It’ll be really fun we can bike and see the sights as well.” Dara was clearly excited about this.

“Alright, you’re the birthday girl. We can do whatever you want.” Dara was beaming, she couldn’t stop smiling.

“Yay! Okay I know where we can get bikes and what the best trails are.”

“Wow, how?”

“…I really wanted to go biking before.” Seunghyun couldn’t help but laugh after seeing the look on her face. 

“Do you even know how to ride a bike?” Dara looked offended.

“Excuse you, I am a very active person. Of course, I know how to ride a bike.”

“Alright just asking, no need to get defensive.” Dara gave him a scowl but quickly followed it with a smile.

“Let’s go!”

In an hour they were on their bikes and ready to go. They biked for hours around the city. They were in awe by Singapore’s beauty both the country, and the people living in it. Both Dara and Seunghyun called out the other for checking out people as they rode. Soon they were both rating the people that they came across. They realized they had similar taste even though Seunghyun kept claiming he was better than the all the men. The rating and the riding went on for hours, until they realized it was time to listen to their growling stomachs. For lunch, Dara took him to a small restaurant she found the last few times she visited Singapore. The place was a local sandwich shop with a Korean infusion.

“Whoa, how did you find this place?” Seunghyun asked as they sat down at a table by the window.

“One time when I was in Singapore, I was really annoyed with having to stay in my room the whole time, so when my manager was sleeping I snuck out.”

“You’re such a badass.”

“Don’t mock me! I was proud of myself for sneaking out, I never caused any trouble before this.”

“Where did you go?”

“I just kept walking and soon it was dark so I got kinda creeped out. But then I saw this place and it was covered in lights. I don’t know but the roads were so dark and quiet and then there was this place that was so bright and full of life. I just got drawn to it, and when I came inside, it wasn’t even that packed. So I got a table and ordered. The waiter was really nice he asked me if I was on vacation and I just lied and said I was. I pretended like I was a normal person.”

“Did you think the waiter was cute?” Dara’s shoulders dropped in disappointment from Seunghyun’s response.

“That’s all you got from my story? You .” She threw her napkin at his face but Seunghyun could only chuckle.

“I’m kidding. So what happened after you went back to the hotel? Were you in trouble?”

‘Yeah… Everyone was panicking because I wasn’t picking up my phone. But I didn’t care, I was happy. Plus they couldn’t really punish me.”

“Why not?”

“I would just refuse to perform.” Dara had on a very cheeky smile, obviously very satisfied with herself.

“Wow you were a diva.” She laughed out loud at this.

“I mean I would perform, but they didn’t know that. I used it from time to time to get what I wanted.” He could only shake his head in mock disapproval.

“Whatever, let’s eat.” The two took their time talking and eating when they finally were on their way again.

They rode towards the water where they left their bikes near the benches. Seunghyun took Dara’s hand and they began to stroll along the river. The sun was setting and there was a slight breeze that would’ve made Dara cold if it wasn’t for Seunghyun’s body heat.

“Well this is romantic.” She looked up at him and smiled as she placed a kiss on his cheek.

“I try.” He had a smirk on his face as he let go of Dara’s hand to place his arm around her waist. They walked in silence for a while enjoying the moment, until Seunghyun began to speak again.

“Are you okay?” His voice was deeper and more serious. She looked up at him with confused eyes.

“After what happened yesterday? I didn’t bring it up earlier because I thought maybe it’d be too soon and you didn’t want to talk about it. But I want to know if you’re okay.” The confusion was gone but now she had a small smile on her face.

Dara leaned closer into Seunghyun’s embrace as she said “I’m going to be okay.”

“Are you sure?” They were still walking, slower but still going.

“Yes. I mean it was really heard seeing him and hearing what he said, but he’s always been an . I’m just glad I’ve closed that door in my life now. I feel so much lighter, honestly. And you don’t know how glad I was that you were there to defend me and stand by my side. I realized how lucky I was.” With the last words, Dara held onto Seunghyun even tighter to show him that she meant every word.

“You are kinda lucky to have me.” Dara smacked his chest causing Seunghyun to laugh out loud.

“I’m kidding. I was really proud of you know.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah, you stood up to him and came out even stronger. It made me love you even more.” Dara’s eyes were tearing up hearing his words and closed them in happiness as he kissed her hair. She looked up at him and didn’t even need to say the three words for Seunghyun to know what she meant.

“I love you too.” They both couldn’t help but smile. Then after a few moments Seunghyun stopped walking and held Dara at arm’s length.

“What?” Despite living with him, Dara still couldn’t handle Seunghyun’s strong gaze. He could make her feel so alive yet so vulnerable with one look.

“I want to give you something?” Dara didn’t say anything in response but only waited. He took out a small box from his pocket, a small blue velvet box.

“Seunghyun?” Her eyes widened in surprise. Was she going to be proposed to while she was wearing tights and had slight helmet hair?

“Sh. Let me talk.” He took her hands as he took a slight deep breath.

“I know what you’re thinking, don’t worry I’m not going to propose to you.”

“Oh.” Dara didn’t know how she felt about that, she was relieved but also slightly disappointed. Seunghyun smiled at her disappointment.

“This,” he opened up the box to show her two identical silver bands. “is a promise ring. I’m not asking you to marry me right now because I think it might be a little too fast for us. But, I am promising you that I will love you and stay by your side forever. You have made me so happy in such a short span of time that sometimes I feel like I’ve been a little selfish. I’ve only taken from you so now I promise you that I will spend the rest of my life trying to make you happy, to make you laugh, and smile. This promise is honestly still a little selfish because god knows when you smile or laugh, I’m the one that’s being rewarded."

Seunghyun paused to let out a heavy breath and calm his nerves. He wanted to run away in embarassment but he also found himself not being able to look away from Dara's eyes. She always had the ability to level him with one look. After a moment he continued. 

"I know I’ll mess up sometimes but I promise you I will never intentionally hurt you. I’m asking you for forgiveness beforehand because I’m an idiot that gets jealous and doesn’t have a lot of common sense. I always feel like I'm not good enough for you, or I'm not doing enough because you deserve the world and so much more. But then you give me that little smile of yours and I swear my heart drops every single time. I look forward to seeing that smile for the rest of our lives. You entered my life out of nowhere and I will always thank the world for bringing you to my door, literally. I love you Dara, so much that this little cheesy speech isn’t even half of what I feel for you. This is only the first step of us starting a life together. We have so many more left and it'll probably get hard at times but I promise I will always stand by you and I will always love you. So, will you be with me forever?”

Dara found it hard to come up with any words to express even one third of what she was feeling inside right at that moment. Her eyes were filling up with tears once again as she stared at the man she loved. There were no words to described her happiness. 

‘Dara? You’re making me nervous.” She let out a laugh as she hooked her arms around his neck in a tight hug as she whispered “Yes. I’ll be with you forever.” He s his arms around her waist and picked her up off her feet. Still in the air, she moved to look at him.

“Promise? Forever is a very a long time.” The smile on his face was dazzling.

“Pinky promise.” She moved her face closer to give him a kiss; her hands on his face could feel the smile on his face.

He placed Dara back on to her feet and took out the smaller ring to place it on her ring finger. She did the same with his ring. The ring on her hand felt heavy, but it was a good heavy that would serve to be a constant reminder of how amazing the man standing next to her, was.

*** I FINALLY UPDATED THIS!!!! It’s also the last chapter…. Don’t hate me! I just thought it would be a really good ending. But don’t worry, I plan on writing an epilogue or something of that sort. I hope you enjoyed this chapter and story as a whole. I loved it, especially this chapter, it might be my favorite.
