This is it, he thought. This is the last day I’ll see him.

In the dark, narrow alley at the icy night, the tall, slim man was leaning his back on the cold wall, holding a picture of his best friend as he caressed it with his thumb. He wears a thick, blue jacket with a black cap slightly covers his eyes, black ragged pants and comfortable running shoes. All in all, you won’t be able to tell who he is.

Eunhyuk Lee with his real name HyukJae is best friends for so long with Lee Sungmin. They went through hell, celebrated at times like in heaven. He could remember the birthday he celebrated with his best friend. They feasted on different kinds of foods, drank some liquor, had some teasing and shared lots of laughter. When they passed the entrance exam at Paran before, they were so glad. He can still remember the way he smiled and hugged him as if it happened all just yesterday. He can still recall how Sungmin cried on his shoulders when they did their first kill. It stabbed his heart. He can felt anger rushing through his veins and wanted to back out immediately those days. But he still stood strong. He is Sungmin’s pillar to stand. Images flashed inside Eunhyuk’s mind, seeing Sungmin smile at him sweetly, doing aegyo to get what he wants, turning into so much of a manly man when get serious, and the words of caring he tells Hyukjae every time they are in a tough time.

But those are only memories. And he can add nothing more into them.

Eunhyuk grabbed his phone from his pocket to dial his best friend’s number, the man whom he locked purposely inside his apartment.

“Lee HyukJae! Don’t do this!” Sungmin immediately exclaimed through the line.

“Take care, alright? And leave the group. Leave Paran. Leave Korea.” He spoke and ignored the other’s words. “I’ll take care of everything.”

Right there, he ended the call. As simple as that.

Saranghae…

He let that word to be left unspoken. It’s better this way. Eunhyuk smiled to himself. Yes…

He will end this. He will take Sungmin out of this mess. After a few seconds from calling his best friend, he dialed another number.

Kyuhyun.

“Hey, Cho?” Eunhyuk said almost like a whisper.

“Eunhyuk hyung! Hey you want to come over? Wookie and I are going shopping tonight! We need your sense of fashion!” Kyuhyun spoke cheerfully.

Eunhyuk feel bad for him. But it will be useless anyway.

He will end it.

"I see... I'll try to catch up." He lied as the feeling of guilt eats him up alive.

"Heechul hyung and Siwon hyung's wedding will be next week and we really want to go shopping! I have invitations for you and Sungmin hyung too! If you can catch up with us tonight, I will give it to you. Pass it to Ming hyung, okay?"

"Yeah... Sure. But if I can't, give it at class to Sungmin, 'kay?" He smiled with sympathy. With bitterness.

"Umm... Okay." Kyuhyun replied to the other line.

"Oh yeah, what mall are you going?"

"SM mall. Catch up with us! See you hyung!"

"Alright..." He sighed after that and ended a call for the second time.

SM mall is only at the next intersection from here.

He went to a phone booth creating his third and final call for this night.

"This is Lieutenant Leeteuk. What—"

"I know who the killer is. The one you've been looking for." He paused for a while after just cutting the lieutenant's voice. "The one who killed lives five years ago. I know all about it."

"Who is this?" Eunhyuk heard an obvious tension from the lieutenant.

"At the alley near Donghyuk Street." He checked his watch.

6:45 pm

"7 pm sharp. I will be waiting."

Finally... This is the right thing to do.

He will surrender himself, tell the police of all he know, he'd done. About 'him', the selling of organs for huge amount of money, the syndicate he belongs in. Everything. And save Sungmin from any further harm. He won't kill Kyuhyun. He couldn't. And this is the right time to finally put this to an end.
