Fate
The Foreigner/ StarstruckKai
“Kai. For. The. Last. Time. Freaking. Wake. Up.” D.O was kicking the foot of the bed in time with each word, trying to wake his roommate up. Kai wasn’t responding at all. Giving up, D.O called in Xiumin, the resident alarm clock, to accomplish the job.
“Joooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn-aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!” Xiumin wasn’t designated as the screamer for nothing. Kai finally stirred. “Yah. We have a schedule today. If you don’t wake up right now, Manager-hyung will kill us.”
Chanyeol finally came into the room. “Dude. Seriously? You slept earlier than I did. Wake up.”
When the screamer and the group’s voice/chatterbox start ganging up on you, there’s no other choice than to wake up. Still in a half-coma, Kai shuffled to the bathroom, brushing his teeth with his eyes closed. He was having a dream about a certain fangirl with the difficult name. He smiled a sleepy smile at the thought.
Washing his face, he thought to himself. Why am I so drawn to her? Plenty of pretty nunas and dongsaengs come to our schedules every day. Why am I thinking about her so much? He shook his head. Jongin. Get your act together. He slapped himself across the cheek a few times for good measure.
Still, even as he changed out of his pajamas, he thought of her—her long, wavy hair, her crinkly eye smile, her infectious laugh. Am I even going to see her again? What if she goes back to California without attending any of our scheduled events? What if she does, but I don’t see her? He laughed at the last thought, knowing deep down that he wouldn’t miss her even in a sea of faces.
“Jongin, I swear to all things holy, if you don’t come out—“
“Suho-hyung, I’m here. And swearing to holy things is bad,” Kai laughed, putting an arm around his leader’s shoulder as they headed out the door.
Clarissa
After a long stare-down with her closet, Clarissa finally decided on a dark-washed pair of straight-cut Levi’s, a dressy sleeveless top, and a black blazer, along with a pair of flats. Putting her hair up in a loose bun, she took one last look at the mirror before leaving her apartment. “Not bad,” she smiles to herself.
“Fighting, Reese! Here’s to letting go of the past and starting fresh.” Once she got out of the bus, she didn’t have very far to walk before reaching the SBS building, her fresh start.
After all the paperwork had been settled, her new boss oriented her to her job description.
“You know the reason we hired you, correct? You’re multilingual. And in this Hallyu market, we need all the help we can get in the language department. You’re going to be in charge of script writing for any English and Chinese necessities. Don’t worry about what to write, since there will be senior writers helping you out. And, since you’re a bit of a rare commodity, we may pass you around to different programs under SBS if that’s okay with you.”
“Of course. As long as it’s under the contract I signed, then I have no problem with it.” Clarissa beamed at him, excited to start.
“Then it’s settled. Your first assignment is with Inkigayo, which is going to be on the third floor, second door from the elevator.” (A/N: Yes, I am making the location up. T.T)
