This is a double update. The first update is this chapter: A Special Morning

The thirteen of you had a fulfilling breakfast. It was full of laughter and delight and you managed to find out when their birthdays were. The bacon was the most popular dish amongst them and you were right. Indeed, they had taken extras. You were lucky you thought of their appetite and made more than usual. Now, everyone was just doing their own thing in their rooms. And you were just taking down the dates of their birthdays on your calendar.

Xiu Min - March 26

Lu Han - April 20

Kris - November 6

Su Ho - May 22

Lay - October 7

Baek Hyun - May 6

Chen - September 21

Chan Yeol - November 27

D.O. - January 12

Tao - May 2

Kai - January 14

Se Hun - April 12

It’s a bummer that I missed Jong In’s and Kyung Soo oppa’s birthday. Darn…I guess, we have next year then. Whose birthday is next?

You looked through the list again and found that Xiu Min’s was the next one on the list.

Nobody has a birthday in February? Wow…

You put the list away with Xiu Min’s birthday in your mind.

I think I know what to do. It’s still a long way to go though.

You huffed and sat on your bed, wondering what to do now. You were bored to simply put it. You considered working on the project with Lu Han but brushed it away.

Nah…he needs rest and the project due date is still far.

You plopped onto the bed and stared at the white ceiling obscured slightly by the sheer white cloth from the bed. The wind from outside blew into your room as you had left the window open.

I don’t feel like bothering any of the wolves. Besides, I think they have their own things to do and I’m a guest…well, almost a guest in this house. I shouldn’t keep on pestering them just because I’m bored.

You puffed your cheeks up and blew the air collected in your cheeks out.

Hm…I’ve seen the inside of the house. In fact, I’ve been guided around courtesy of their eommas. But…I’ve never really seen the outside of the house. I know they have a huge garden and a forest they own but that was it.

You abruptly sat up and rose from your bed.

I know what to do. I’m going to explore the forest.

You grinned in excitement and rushed into you walk in closet. Thanks to the maids who were kind enough to help you sort out your wardrobe, everything was organized and neat like the way you wanted it.

I think this will do for a small walk.

You grabbed a pale pink floral dress that had short sleeves and a layered skirt that reached just above the knee. [1] You weren’t a huge diehard fan of dresses but yu just liked that they were nice and pretty to wear especially this one because it seemed light and perfect for a walk in the forest.

Hm, eomma must have bought this dress for me and I didn’t see it until now.

You twirled around in it, giggling when the light fabric brushed against your skin. You wanted to leave but you felt like you needed something more. So, you trudged to your dresser and rummaged around in it until you found the hair accessory you needed.

Now, it’s perfect. I don’t know why I feel very…flowery today.

The accessory you chose was a gift from one of your close cousins. The hair crown was made of special thin yet durable wood that was carved and twisted in a way that it didn’t have splinters but still clung onto the hair. On the hair crown were pale pink flowers with white buds growing out of it. Your cousin said that she got it from one of her expeditions to the Fairy Kingdom so there was magic infused in it. Something about glowing in the sunlight but you didn’t really remember. [2]

Giggling in delight, you twirled out of the closet and grabbed your white sneakers [3]. You slipped them on easily and you pranced out of the door. You were cautious though as you didn’t want anyone of them to catch you. You skipped down the stairs and landed softly on the marble floor. You paused for a moment before heading in the direction of the garden.

The door to the garden was a French door that was placed in the middle of the two winding stairs in the lobby that led to the second floor. Beyond that French door was a small patio or a small room. It was painted in a pristine white and there were hanging plants near the French windows that overlooked the garden. There were also patio furniture inside and a few garden magazines were strewn around the table. Another French door led to the garden.

You passed through the clean patio and exited out to the garden. You stood on a small stone tiled platform that had steps leading down to the garden. But from your position and height, you overlooked the whole garden. Your eyes shined in awe as you took in the beautiful garden.

Wow…

You could spot a hedge maze on the far right of the garden and a greenhouse just opposite of it. On the left, there were plants of all kinds like trees, flowers, bushes and all sort of other exotic or common plants. Scattered around the whole garden, there were fountains with sculptures of various figures or objects on them. Once you descended the steps, it continued on to a pebble stoned path that winded around the garden.

There’s a sign.

You pranced towards the tall white washed wooden sign that had wooden planks pointing in different directions.

The garden must be so huge that they had to place signs, telling people where to go.

<-- Forest

You found the path you were looking for and headed on the East path that would direct you to the forest. Along the way, you gazed at the plants that lined the path you took. There were smaller white signs with the names of the plants near their assigned plant. You saw bees and butterflies flying around the garden in search of their food. You even spotted a spider and a caterpillar making its cocoon.

It’s the end of the path.

You looked away from the lovely plants and stared ahead into the forest. The pebble stoned path slowly faded away and soon, you were stepping on fresh soil. There were barely any exotic plants or colorful flowers that surrounded you but tall trees of different families and types towered over you as you continued strolling through the forest.

As it was the afternoon, the sun was still high in the sky but the thick leaves of the trees covered it slightly, leaving only little light to pour through the small gaps in the luscious forest. You never spotted any animals but you were sure they would pop up soon. You weren’t even that deep into the forest and you still could see the garden behind you.

You climbed up a hill and froze as you found a deer drinking by the waterfall that fell into a small pond you found. You didn’t make a sound or a move but it seemed as if the deer had heard you. Its head shot up from the pond and it stared into your eyes. You held your breath as it slowly trotted towards you. It had to be a male since it had pointy antlers that grew from its head.

Oh my…

He was so close to you now. A little more and he was face to face with you. You stared into his eyes and he stared back at you. It was silent between the two of you and only the sound of nature and the rush of the waterfall behind filled the space. For a moment, you thought he was going to push you down the hill but he merely came closer and nudged your hand.

What?

You grew confused for a moment as he kept nudging your hand. You finally realized that he wanted you to pet him.

Oh, it wants me to pet him.

You carefully lifted your hand and his head followed you. You placed it on his head and patted his soft fur gently. You were afraid that he was going to get scared and run away but you were wrong as he snuggled more into your touch. You slowly loosened up and smiled softly at the sight of his adorable bambi eyes gazing at you.

Hm, those eyes remind me of someone…

He breathed into your hand all of a sudden and he paused for a moment, staring back at you like it was determining something.

Ah, I know. He looks like Lu Han.

You giggled inwardly at the thought but quickly broke out of it as he trotted backwards and turned around, leaving you behind. You were disappointed that he had to leave but he suddenly faced you slightly and motioned with his head to follow him.

Follow him?

You titled your head in confusion but followed behind him anyway. He trotted into the small pond and you took off your white sneakers, placing it on a rock before following him into the water. He seemed to walk nearer towards the waterfall and his hoof slammed down on the floor of the pond. You were startled for a moment before you realized that he must have stepped on some sort of button or something because the waterfall stopped and a hidden cave was revealed.

Woah…that was behind the waterfall?

Of course you couldn’t see it. The waterfall was too thick that it covered the cave. He entered the cave and you followed behind without a word though still stunned. The cave was surprisingly dry yet cool. When you entered, the waterfall flowed once more behind you effectively blocking your way out. You spun around surprised but slowly turned around and followed the deer into the cave.

Where is he going?

He continued leading you straight into the cave. At first, it started to grow darker the farther you went but at one point, the cave was suddenly illuminated by ocean blue light. You stared at the blue crystals that grew out of the cave in amazement. They sparkled and glowed, giving the cave light. You found that they were a light source for the path farther along the way. The deer continued however, unperturbed by the beauty of the blue crystals.

However, scribbles on the walls of the cave now illuminated blue caught your eye. At first they were mindless scribbles in some language you couldn’t decipher but then they changed. You eyes grew wide at the sudden switch to the Ancient Vampiric writing. You paused and the deer seemed to trot back to your side.

War will destroy the Earth. The return of a dark and sinister evil will obliterate humans and the mythical. The mythical races will fall apart and rage war against one another. The massacre of the human race will begin from the start of the War between the Mythical. From then on, mankind will fall and mythical will be mythical. Earth will be placed in poverty and suffering. The Seven Sins will ascend when the Angels can no longer guard the Gate to Heaven and the Demons can no longer guard the Gate to Hell. It will be a World War and it will start with the…what does it say next?

You traced the line that you read but it ended abruptly. The letters were chipped out and you couldn’t read the rest. You furrowed your eyebrows and pressed your lips together.

What are they talking about? World destruction? Why? How? When?

Your mind was filled with a thousand questions. You retraced your steps and you were back at where the unintelligible writings were. They were familiar but you couldn’t recognize it at all let alone read it. You walked forward, tracing the wall of the cave with your finger. You passed the Ancient Vampiric writing and came upon a different language.

I know this one.

The symbols were similar to the first unintelligible writings but more elegantly carved and more descriptive. You couldn’t read but you recognized which race it belonged to.

Ancient Werecat writing…

You grew more perplexed by the moment as it suddenly switched to a different Ancient writing.

Ancient Angel writing…Ancient Demon writing…Ancient Elven writing…Ancient Mermaid writing…Ancient Goblin writing…Ancient Faerie writing…Ancient Nine-Tailed Fox writing…and lastly…what is this?

You furrowed your eyebrows at the last one. It wasn’t in any language. In fact, it was unintelligible and unrecognizable but they were the most prominent among the others. There was something you recognized though and that was the drawing that the writing centered around. There were twelve symbols in a circle that weren’t familiar to you and in the middle was another symbol that was familiar to you.

Where have I seen these symbols before?

You carefully traced the symbol of a triangle with a swirl in the middle. A sudden tingling feeling shot up your spine and the symbol glowed brightly in a bright white. You retracted your hand and stared at the symbol with wide eyes.

Woah…

Kai’s P.O.V

I suddenly felt a tingle up my spine and a warm feeling enveloped me. It wasn’t the imprint and I definitely knew I wasn’t Chan Ye
