✏ GET TO KNOW YOU -- Kiseop (& Kevin) (U-Kiss)

Request: Kevin’s friend from the US, and though she doesn’t speak Korean, and Kiseop only speaks a couple words in English, she really wants to get to know him.

(A/N: This was requested on AFF. I’m not as familiar with U-KISS so I had to study for this (no kidding, I did). It’s kinda short too, but hopefully this is alright!)

“Kevin!” you called, waving your hand erratically in the air towards the other as you spotted him hiding in the corner of the airport. Spotting your bobbing figure in the middle of the crowd, the other waved back, mouthing something you couldn’t quite catch.

When your flight had just touched down down in Incheon, you had practically ran off the plan. Your limbs burned at the newly found freedom after being squished in your cabin seat for inhumanly long.

Though you weren’t a phobic of flying, after spending 20 hours on a flight you were glad to finally be able to move. Heck, you were glad just to breathe real air and not the overly air conditioned stuff they pumped through the cabin repeatedly.

You had switched between sleeping to watching crappy movies back to going back to sleep then finally drinking something strong to knock you out for go for the last few hours of your flight. When you had finally landed, one of the cabin crew had to shake you from your newly found slumber, almost giving you whiplash in the process. You were sure of it.

You probably looked like hell. You felt like hell. Inside and out. Though you didn’t care at the moment, you were just glad to see your old friend.

Pulling your luggage behind you, you practically bounced on over to the male, enveloping him in a hug as he lifted you into the air. You hadn’t seen him in a ridiculously long time, aided with the liquid courage you had taken onboard the plane which you were still powering through, you couldn’t help but act like an excited child.

The pair of you exchanged words of “I missed you” to “you look great”, though he really did look great. He was much thinner than you remembered, his hair being much lighter too. You on the other hand, well, you could blame the flight for that.

“Lets go” Kevin suggested after you finally had released him from your arms. You nodded your head a little too enthusiastically, pulling your bags behind you as trailed behind him out of the airport.

You said a silent goodbye as the pair of you left Incheon airport.

The pair of you had retreated back to Kevin’s car after you managed to weave your way through the crowds of people. Your luggage had slowed you down the most, being caught inbetween the hoards of peoples feet. You had almost tripped over it once or twice yourself, much to your frustration.

When you had returned to his vehicle, you almost screamed in surprise to find it wasn’t empty. Infact, a young male sat in the back seat, his eyes closed until he had heard you eep. You were ready to open a can of whoopass - even in your slightly drunken state - when Kevin had finally spoken.

“This is Kiseop, he wanted to wait in the car” he said as he took your luggage, loading it into the trunk of the car as you eyed the male. He returned your glance, giving a gentle bow of his head which you quickly returned. Kevin had moved to the drivers side now, slipping into the seat as you took the seat beside this ‘Kiseop’.

You were kicking yourself now that you probably did look like hell after getting off your flight. In your defence, you didn’t know Kevin was bring a friend to pick you up. If you had, you probably still would have looked like hell.

So much for first impressions.

You decided to at least try conversing with this guy.

“It’s nice to meet you” you spoke, bowing slightly with yours words. From the dramas you had watched to prepare yourself for your trip, you knew bowing was a big thing in Korea. That or maybe you had drank a little more than you remembered.

The male simply stared at you, blinking at you like you were some kind of alien. He muttered something in what you presumed to Korean to Kevin before the other male let out a lengthy chuckle.

“Kiseop doesn’t speak English” Kevin was the one to speak, you made a ‘oh’ with your mouth. That was why he had stared at like some kind of alien. He didn’t understand you.

That made things difficult.

Your Korean was very very basic, infact, below basic. You wished you had had the chance to take some lessons before your trip here, though your busy schedule hadn’t allowed you the time to do so. That limited you to talking with Kevin or anyone you could find that spoke decent English.

Though you couldn’t help but find yourself wanting to know this guy better. Even though you had just met him. You weren’t one to back down from a challenge though.

You sprang an idea, pulling your cellphone out from your pocket, pushing the power button to bring it to life. You had turned it off for your flight, the lack of signal on the aeroplane making it useless to you anyway.

The screen illuminated, your phone coming to life in your hand. Your fingers quickly dancing across the screen as you tapped out your words.

‘Nice to meet you’ you held the phone up to him, showing him the words on the screen. You had used a translator to translate your words into Korean. It was a annoying way to communicate with someone, though it was better than nothing.

Kiseop’s eyes rolled across the screen, before flashing you a very small smile, retrieving his own cellphone. He mimicked your earlier movements, tapping his fingers across the screen before holding his phone up much like you had.

‘Nice to see you’ you read off the screen, stifling a laugh at the mistake in translation. Translators were the most reliable way of communicating, though it worked for now. Until you could get a grasp on Korean that was.

The pair of you exchanged conversation in the form of translated messages on your phone the entire journey to their dorm. Kevin often joining the conversation, complaining you were ignoring your ‘best friend’ and threatening to share embarrassing stories from when you were younger.

You swatted at him like a cat at his words, barking back that you’d do the same.

You had explained to Kiseop, through your cellphone, that one time you had put a worm in Kevin’s ice cream and he had been so close to eating before he had realised. ‘He screamed like a little girl’ you had commented, through your cellphone, making the other let out a chuckle.

It would be a challenge communicating this way, sure, but sometimes the challenges were worth it.

Chapter 20: A person can only take so much.
I don't think I can do so much waiting, ofcourse I'll still wait for the one I love even if its hurt. Isn't that what love can do? It always making us do the impossible. Like I said...a person can only take so much. Sometimes we need a break. A break for us to realize things. Specially when my child is involve. You did your fair share of sacrificing, much more even.

I don't know really, if where this is coming from. XD
