Chapter Five
Even when the Sun RisesI was more relaxed with Rain now that I’d waited on him for about five days. So when Monday came I was expecting him to get me to look at some socks or another unusual task.
I went to the table he and his translator were dining at. Mr Park said a brief good morning and I waited for Rain’s response. He nodded to me before staring at the floor. Hmm ok.
“Morning,” I said to them both taking out paper and pen, “so what will you be having today?”
“Just the cooked breakfast please,” Mr Park said. I nodded and wrote this down.
“What about you JiHoon?” I asked. He raised his head to me.
“The same thing,” I didn’t think he was rude but I guess he might be tired or something was on his mind that was bugging him. Still he didn’t need to take it out on me.
“Coming right up,” I told them both going to the kitchen.

Rain wasn’t just like that for the morning. I didn’t get to do anything strange but thank you and pleases were scarce this time. I wondered if I might have done something which upset him; but what?
“Maybe he was just testing the waters so he could determine if he could be his real self in front of me,” I thought aloud as I talked with Bunny who was bar tending with Tony. Tony is a rather interesting guy. From his handsome looks you would think that he was a skirt chaser. But he was more into blood and violent video games and movies than women.
“Couldn’t you tell that from the start?” He asked me while pouring a pint of lager for a gentleman sitting near me.
“Well, I don’t know how he fooled me…” I leaned into one of my hands, “I guess I’m more gullible than I thought.”
“Don’t say that Slots,” Bunny protested, “you are not gullible. I guess for once we were both fooled.”
“Me too,” Tony said holding up a hand, “he asked for a wine the other night and even though I got him the wrong kind he was happy to pay for it though.”
“Oh well,” I said staring at my half full glass, watching the bubbles rise, “it’s good I found out before I let myself think it was too good to be true.” I felt the transmitter vibrate so I took it out.
“Looks like duty calls,” Tony noted, “have fun.”
“I’ll try to,” I said to him as I tied my apron around my hips.

When I arrived I found that Rain was sitting alone reading. I thought he was reading something in his own language until I saw the word ‘acting’ on the front cover. He lifted his head from the book to look at me.
“So, what can I get you?” I asked as nicely as I could without sounding reluctant.
“Just some water thanks,” at least he was gracious this time.
“Ok no pro--.” I saw one of the waiters’ lead three men to a table. They were all in suits and had brief cases. They were men I had never seen before except for the one with the dark blonde hair and slight double chin. Chills went up my spine. I recognized him though I hadn’t seen him recently. He turned to glance in my direction. My palms started to get sweaty and I had to wipe them on my apron. The man then continued to follow his accomplices to a table and take a seat.
My head spun back to Rain who was looking at me with curiosity. He probably wondered when I was going to get his drink.
“Ah sorry, I’ll be back,” I left continuing to wipe my hands as I went.
So he has come back after all.
