It’s a beautiful day for her.

 

It is beyond special.

 

She could feel the tiny rays of the sun kiss her cheeks that she couldn’t help but smile.

 

*Ice cream, cake here I come!* She smiled in her dreams. She dreamt of eating those sweet treats all by herself.

*No Bommie here. Kekekeke. Better finish it before she comes.*

 

It will be a good day and no one can ruin it except…

*What is that sound?* She thought in her dreams. *Hmp. Just eat Dara. Eat.*

 

 The sound never stop.  It kept on playing.

“Princess, your phone is ringing.”

 

“Hmmmm…” She answered half-heartedly.

 

“Princess, it’s too noisy.”

 

“Hmmm…” She cooed. She felt his embrace from behind.

 

“This woman really…” Seunghyun couldn’t help but answer her phone.

 

“…” He answered the phone but didn’t speak.

 

“Rabbit!!!!! Happy Birthday!!!! Wakie Wakie! It’s your birthday!!!” Bom greeted on the other line.

 

“Unnie! Happy birthday!!” The maknae also greeted.

 

“Unnie!!!!!! What’s your plan?!” CL snatched the phone and asked the other line.

 

“Yah?! Dara?! Don’t tell me you’re still sleeping???” Bom questioned.

 

“Yeah… She’s still asleep.” Seunghyun answered sleepily.

 

“S-seunghyun-sshi?” Bom asked.

 

“Yeah...”

 

“W-why are y-you answering Dara’s phone?” Bom said.

 

“The birthday girl’s still sleeping. Wait.” He said then looked at the sleeping girl beside him.

 

“Princess, your friends are greeting you.”

 

“Hmmmm…” Again, she didn’t answer.

 

“Tsk. Princess~” Seunghyun said then nuzzled her neck. He was hugging her from behind. He tightened his hold then caressed her cheeks. “Princess, wake up. “

 

“Tabi… I’m still sleepy.” She said while changing position. She was now facing him. On instinct, she wrapped her arms in his waist. He hugged her back.

He caressed her hair and went to attend her phone. “Bom, the princess’  still sleepy. Just call later.”

“O-okay” Bom replied shakily.

The couple went back to sleep with their comfortable position.

 

On the other hand, the girls’ mouth went agape.

 

“Are you seeing what I’m seeing in my mind?” Bom asked the two.

 

“I think so unnie…” Minzy answered in a daze.

 

“They’re now sleeping together in one bed? “ Bom analyzed.

 

“It seems like it unnie…” CL also answered while staring at Bom’s phone.

This day couldn’t get any better. She woke up with a light feeling. Papa YG gave her vacation due to her upcoming wedding which is tomorrow and of course for her birthday treat. She knows she should be wary. She’s getting married! It was the time she has been avoiding all her life. She detested it to the core.

 But now, the idea is not appalling anymore. She couldn’t care less. She doesn’t know why but something’s change. She didn’t care if she’ll get married tomorrow. For her, she’s happy.

She looked at her ring and she couldn’t help but smile. *It’s the best present ever*

“Breakfast is ready!” Seunghyun called her.

When she heard his call, she immediately went to the kitchen.

“Wow! It’s plenty.”

“Yes it is.”

“Did you cook all these?” She inquired as she looked at the food in the table.

 

“Who else? Now, dig in.” Seunghyun said animatedly.

She complied enthusiastically. She moaned. “Hmmmmm… Best breakfast ever!! Thanks Tabi!!”

 

He smiled as he looked at her. She really enjoys food so much. He wonders where those foods are going. She’s thin but she eats a lot.

 

“Tabi~ You’re really a great cook. I’ll get fat if you’ll cook like this every day.”

 

“Then so be it. I’ll cook every day if it’s the only thing that can get you to gain weight.”

 

She pouted. “I won’t get fat. I have fast metabolism.”

 

“Good for you. Now eat. Stop talking.”

 

She pouted but complied.

The couple decided to go grocery shopping for tonight’s celebration. It will also serve as bridal shower for Dara.

She was choosing which dress to wear when her phone suddenly rang.

 

*Old man calling*

 

‘Old man? Why is he calling?’

 

She answered her phone. “H-hello?”

 

“Sandara Park. Do you still remember your halapoji?”

 

“Grandpa, what do you want?”

 

A boisterous laugh could be heard from the other line. “So you gained some backbone now huh? Tsk. Tsk.”

 

“Say what you want to say I’m busy.”

 

“I wanted to talk to you.”

 

“Talk.” She replied coldly.

 

“In person. There’s a lot I would like to say.”

 

“I’m marrying Choi Seunghyun tomorrow. What else is there to say? You’ve won.”

 

“No darling. The game is just about to start.” Again, he laughed.

 

She gritted her teeth. “I don’t want to play your dirty game old man. You’ve got what you wanted. Leave me alone.”

 

“Not yet my dear granddaughter. Not yet.”

 

Talking to him drains her energy. She has to end it immediately. “I’m hanging up.”

 

“Do that and you’ll never see your brother again.” He threatened.

 

“W-what?” She didn’t hear it right. He doesn’t know where her brother is, does he?

 

“I know where your brother is. So if you’re interested to see him, go to this restaurant. We’ll talk there.” He said then gave the address.

 

“How sure am I that it’s not one of your plots?”

 

“Then you lost your chance to see your brother. Bye my dear Dara. See you.” He said then hung up.

 

When the line went dead, she was still staring at her phone.

‘He knows where my brother all this time? What is that old man trying to play?’

She didn’t know what the hell he was thinking for him to have the reason to talk to her but she’s definitely coming. She wanted to see her brother desperately. Besides, it will be just a casual talk. She won’t get hurt, right?

She informed Seunghyun that she was just going to buy something and she won’t be long. Along the way, she was fidgeting. What are they gonna talk? That part was still a mystery for her. She didn’t know what else to talk about. She surrendered. She was now marrying Seunghyun.

 

Finally, she arrived at her destination. She easily spotted her grandfather for he emits a commanding aura.  He waved at her.

 

“My dear Dara! You came.” He exclaimed.

 

“Yes. Now talk.” She said immediately when she sat on the opposite chair facing him.

 

“Oh… You’re in a hurry?”

 

‘Of course! He’s hoarding her birthday celebration. Come to think of it, he even forgot to greet her! He didn’t know that it is her birthday. Such a good grandfather. To think that he’s the only one left of her family.’

“Yes.” She answered shortly.

“But I’m hungry, should we eat first? I’m getting old. I need some nutrients.” He said then placed their order.

He didn’t even ask what she likes. He ordered for her.

After eating, he decided to start the talk.

 

“You see, my dear, I asked you to marry the great Choi Seunghyun right? And you’re marrying him tomorrow.” He started.

 

“Yes.” She answered in a bored tone.

 

He nodded. “Now I want you to sign it.”

 

She frowned as she read the papers handed to her. “what is this?”

 

“Read, darling.”

 

She flipped the pages. “You want me to hand my inheritance to you?!!!!”

 

“Uh-huh”

 

“But my inheritance is our repayment to the Choi’s. Besides, I couldn’t get the money without being married.”

 

“No Dara. You can. Actually,  I just invented the fact that you have to be married in order to gain your inheritance. The will just says you have to be of right age and that is now.”

“Then why make us all believe that lie for so many years?”

He laughed. “The Choi’s are so gullible. They believe me easily just because I am the father of their bestfriends. But little did they know, I’m just feeding off their wealth. I need their wealth because you can’t get your inheritance yet. But now, you’re in the right age. You think I forgot that today’s your birthday my little Dara? Of course not!  I marked this day as the rise to a wealthy life. So now, all you have to do is sign it.”

She couldn’t believe he was that evil. “You’re insane.”

 

“No my granddaughter, just clever.”

 

“What if I don’t sign it?”

 

“One. You’ll never see your brother again. Two. I’ll make sure I’ll ruin your career to the point that there’s nothing left of you. Now sign it.”

 

He was definitely insane. She couldn’t sign that paper. She knows what will be the outcome. She will no longer have to marry Seunghyun . She should be happy but she felt guilty. He has the right to that money. That was her repayment for everything! She couldn’t sign that.

 

She was still hesitating when her grandfather spoke. “Come on Dara. Why are you still hesitating? You won’t be married to that arrogant Choi. You should grab the opportunity. “

 

“Or perhaps…” He smiled mischievously.

 

“Perhaps what?” She glared at him.

 

“Perhaps you like him already. My my. My dear granddaughter is in love. Come to think of it?”

 

 

 

“What the hell are you talking about?” She shouted.

She doesn’t care if she’s being scandalous inside this restaurant. He was damn insane.

 

“You’re in love with him. Your eyes couldn’t hide it.” He smirked.

 

She couldn’t accept this is happening? Why now? Why can’t it be tomorrow? Just not today. Not today.

 

“Choose. Your brother or your lover?” He tauntingly asked.

 

“You’re insane! I never thought you’re this evil!”

 

“Oh money can change a person. Now sign it.” He handed her the paper.

 

She nervously scanned the papers. This can’t be happening.

“Come on Dara, time is running out. Who knows what may happen to your brother.” He said mysteriously.

“What do you mean by that?”

 

“Well, I said I know where to find him but I didn’t say he’s in a good condition.”

 

She gasped “What?”

 

“You know your brother Dara. He’s very stubborn. I didn’t know if my subordinates could handle him. I just said that they could do whatever they wanted.”

 

“Bwoh?!!! That is your grandson!”

 

“Money is more important than anything else.”

 

“Damn you!!!” She cursed.

 

“Getting me angry is not gonna help. Sign it now Dara. Come on. Sign it. Time is running out my dear. “

 

She glared at him before her gaze went into the paper. She doesn’t have a choice. But she has to be more clever.

 

“Fine I’ll sign it. But, I have to talk to him first! I couldn’t afford to get fooled.”

 

“Tsk. Getting clever ? Fine. “ He handed her the phone.  “Speed dial no. 1”

 

She called the number right away. “Y-yoboseyo?”

 

“N-noona?” The other line said.

 

“S-sanghyun…”

 

“N-noona...” She gasped. She couldn’t help but let her emotions overflow.  She’s talking to her brother. At last!

 

“S-sanghyun … Kwenchana? I miss you!” She cried.  She let her tears overflow.

 

“N-noona, I miss you too…”

 

“Ok that’s enough! “ He grabbed his phone.  “Now that you know I have your brother, sign it!”

 

She cried while getting the pen. She nervously signed the paper and handed it to him.

 

“Good! Now everything’s settled. Money’s coming my way!!” He smirked then left.

She couldn’t afford to go home. Not on this state. She was a mess. After the scene at the restaurant, she went to a nearby park and cried her heart out. How could he tell Seunghyun that she has nothing now?! She was useless to him. Marrying her will just become his liability.

When she thought of that, she cried again. Why is this happening now? Of all the days, he chose this special day. How could she enjoy this day if what’s she’s thinking right now is her grandfather’s evil face.

She shrieked when she heard her phone ring.  “Y-yoboseyo?”

“Princess? Where are you? Your friends are already here.” Seunghyun said on the other line.

“O-ohh.” She answered tiredly.

“Hey? You alright? Where are you? I’m picking you up.”

“No need, Tabi. I’m almost near. Just give me 20 minutes.”

“Then why do you sound like that? Are you crying? Is there something wrong?”

“u-uhhh, I’m just touched because of my friends’ birthday greetings. I’m overwhelmed. Sorry, I’m just touched. Keke” She tried to make It sound like she was overwhelmed over something.

“Always a crybaby. Now, hurry. I’m done cooking. We’ll start the party once you arrived.”

“Okay.” She was about to hung up when he stopped her. “Yes.”

A sigh could be heard from the other line. “Take care for me my princess. I miss you already. Bye”

‘W-what did he just say?’ When she realized what he said, she couldn’t help but to feel more confused.

Greetings from her friends welcome her once she stepped inside their house.

 

“What took you so long?” Seunghyun said once she was seated.

 

“I just meet up with a friend.”

 

“Is it a boy or a girl” He said as he observed her.

 

“A g-girl.” She avoided his gaze then went to change the topic. “Let’s eat I’m starving” She said then smiled.

 

They all started to eat. After eating, they decided to start the fun

 

 With a microphone in hand, Bom started the noraebang time.

 

“I’m so sorry but I love you da geojitmal ~

I’m so sorry. But I love you ( I love you more more)~ “

 Everyone started to dance when the Lies from Bigbang reached the chorus.

Her friends are having fun. Even Seunghyun seems to be in the mood. But her, she tried her best not to show her true feelings.

They tried to persuade Seunghyun into singing but he stood his ground. When they knew he wouldn’t sing, they were down to their next target.

 

“Now, it’s time for the birthday girl’s song.” CL chanted.

“Sing now Dara! It’s your turn” Bom cheered.

To show that she’s into the fun, she willingly agreed. She chose her song.

She was singing the song while looking at him. He did just the same. They are looking at each other, completely oblivious to their surroundings.

She ended the song with a tear on her eyes. She smiled to hide her tears. But too late, he noticed it.

“Waaaa…. It’s so beautiful Dara-yah!”  Bom squealed.

“Is it for your special someone?” CL teased while looking at Dara and Seunghyun.

“Tsk. Enough about me. Now, Minkkie! Sing” She playfully handed her the microphone.

They continued singing through the night. When all were exhausted, the three girls immediately left.

They were now seated on the sofa.

Seunghyun decided to break the ice. “So, Donghae called earlier. He said you’re not answering his phone calls.”

 

“O-oh I didn’t notice he was calling.” She said.

 

“Are you sure you’re okay? You’re a little off today. “

 

“I’m okay.” She said then smiled.“Yah! Tabi!”

He placed her on his lap and hugged her.

“Something’s bothering you and I know it.” He said as he looked at her.

She surrendered then she let him see her true feelings. “Tabi, can I hold you for a minute?”

“Go on.”

She hugged him with all her might. She will miss him. She couldn’t marry him now. Before, the idea of not marrying him calls for a celebration. But now, she wanted to mourn. She wouldn’t see his handsome face anymore, she’ll miss hias cooking, his sudden hugs and kisses, everything. She started to cry as she thought of those things.

 

“Hey princess? Why are you crying?” He said as he kept caressing her hair.

“I think I’m just feeling the wedding jitters”  She answered as she tightened her hold as if afraid he’ll disappear any minute from now.

He sighed. He felt safe in her arms. He likes feeling her warm hug. “Princess, it’s okay. Look at me.” When she looked his way, he gave her a brief kiss then smiled at her.

Feeling that this will be the last time she will feel his kiss and see his smile, she cupped his face then kissed him wholeheartedly. She kissed him like there’s no tomorrow.

When the kiss ended, she embraced him still. “Let’s stay like this Tabi. I like hugging you.”

He chuckled. “As you wish. We’ll just sleep here. Is it okay?” He questioned.

“It’s more than okay.” She said then adjusted their position. They are now lying on the sofa with their arms wrapped around each other.

He kissed her forehead. “Aren’t we going to wash first?”

“No.”

“But I feel sticky. I’ll just wash first.”

She tightened her hold. “ No. You stay here.”

“What are you? A hugging machine?” He smiled as he looked at her arms holding him tight.

“Just stay here with me please Tabi.” She said in a lonely voice.

“Okay but don’t complain if you feel my sweat.” He relaxed.

She felt his warm breath on her neck. He was fast asleep but she couldn’t. Even though it was a tiring day, it feels like every time is a ticking bomb. She observed his face carefully.

“Tabi~” She said and felt her tears.

“Tabi… “She said his name again. She will miss calling him.

After today, she bet he wouldn’t want to see her. She decided that she will not come on their wedding. What’s the point? She will just feel guilty. After the wedding, he will ask about her inheritance for sure and she couldn’t afford to see his disappointing face. This is for his own good. Even though it hurts so much, she chose this. She chose her brother over him.

She cried again. She’s still confused with her feelings. She couldn’t understand him. She was showing care for her that it feels like it’s just for show. What if he really pursued on getting her to fall for him? But she couldn’t care less. He could plan that for all she cares. Even if he’s just putting up a show for her or it’s for real, she doesn’t care. She strongly said in the beginning that she will definitely not fall for him. Not him. But she guess fate really likes to play with people. Because now, as she was looking at his face, she was sure. She loves him. She loves this man beside her. She loves him with her all.

‘I love him…’ She said then cried.

“Tabi~ I love you… Do you hear that huh? I fell for you hard. And I’m not regretting it. I’m crazy right? I should regret it. You’re cold, selfish, arrogant! “ She cried.

“But still, you’re also sweet, gentle and kind. How can I not fall for that?  Are you pretending to care for me? Huh? But I don’t care. It’s your fault. You made me fall. Are you there to catch me?”

After a long silence, she decided to speak.”Choi Seunghyun, I love you. I love you this much. Even though I have to let you go, I will still love you. I’m sorry if I won’t attend on our wedding. You’ll get by. You’re strong.”She uttered as she kissed his lips. After that, she embraced him.

“I love you.” She whispered. Who knows when she will be saying that again? That’s why, she decided to repeatedly say it. She loves him.
