The Unwilling Bride
" Hand. " He said.
"W-what?"
"Your hand. "
"My what?"
" Your hand. "
" Yah! I'm not like that!! Take it back! Kaja!!!" She shouted while punching his arm.
"Hey Boo! Stop hurting me! Wae? I'm just stating a fact! You do like a poodle in your hairstyle back then!" Donghae clutched his stomach as he laughed wholeheartedly.
" Hmp. " She shrugged.
" Aigoo Baby boo! You're still cute until now.!" He pinched her cheeks.
"Awww! Now you're hurting me physically! You're abusing me. "
He sighed. He really missed her antics. He wished he could stay for another day. But he had a mission to accomplish and that is locating her long lost brother.
" Boo, what will you say once you saw him? "
Her smile faltered. That is the same question she's been asking once she knew he found her brother. What will she say to him? Could she blame him for running away? No. She can't do that. No matter what she loves him. Even though he choose to go on his own path, she loves him. He is her strength throughout those years where she felt defeat. She know they will still cross path someday.
" I still don't know. All I want is to hold him. I missed him so much. So much that it hurts. " She confessed.
" Boo, I know what you're feeling. It's been what? Six years since he disappeared. No one knows where he went. How he survived. " He held her close to his chest. He needs comfort the most right now. She's very vulnerable.
" But you know Hae, I still don't know if I'm ready to face him. All the guilt I felt comes cripping in. If I just have the strength to stand up for the two of us, h-he wouldn't have run away. W-we would still be w-with each other until now. If I didn't let the Chois control us, then m-maybe... maybe we'll be free and content on having a simple life. I don't know. I h-have so much to regret. " She cried as she said those words.
"Shhh... You know it's not your fault. It's never your fault. The circumstances brought you to where you are right now. Maybe there's a reason for all of this. One day, you will realize why and you'll look back without regrets. So all you have to do is cheer up! Okay?! Cheer up! You'll gonna see your baby brother soon! Okay? " He cupped her face and wipe her tears.
"Aigoo! What will I do without you! Thank you Hae. I owe you a lot! " She smiled then continue to wipe her tears. She put on a brave face.
"That's my girl! Now, spare all the drama coz' our foods have arrived!"
She looked at his gaze and saw the food they ordered. She squealed.
"FFFOOOOODDDD!!!" She cheered.
'Some things never change. She still loves to eat.'
Meanwhile, there was a certain person observing their interaction through the window of the restaurant. He questioned himself why was he here. He shouldn't be here but his feet brought him here. He clenched his fist as he saw how close they were. He didn't like their closeness. He really wanted to storm inside right after he put his hands on her but he stopped himself when he saw she's crying. He saw her tears. Why was she crying? He kept on asking himself. When she finally smiled, he guessed that's his cue to enter the scene. He retained his composure and confidently walked inside the restaurant. All eyes on him. You can see the envious stares of the male species and dreamy looks from the female.
He stopped in front of them. He saw how oblivious she is in the surrounding. She lovingly ate her food despite the obvious stare of him.
" Yes? " Donghae questioned the male as he saw him stood infront of their table.
She heared Donghae asked a certain person and looked at who he was talking to. Her eyes went wide when she saw who was standing in their table, looking handsome as always. " W-what a-are y-you doing here?! "
"You know him?" Donghae asked.
"Y-yeah. " She whispered.
" Why? Can't I eat here? I suddenly got hungry and saw this restaurant. Never thought you would be here." He casually answered.
"W-well would you like to join us then? " Donghae politely offered to ease the awkwardness.
"My pleasure." He said then went to sit beside her.
Awkwardness can be felt in the air. Thanks to Seunghyun, she can't seem to enjoy her food. Why was he here? Is he following her? How did he know she is here? Unless... No, she specifically told Papa YG not to tell him. No. He wouldn't dare. But she couldn't do anything now. He was here now. She have to deal with this situation calmly. She shouldn't be affected. This is the day for her and her brother and not even Seunghyun could ruin it.
" So? Not offering me anything, princess? " He asked.
" Wae? Do i look like a waitress? Order your own food. " She rolled her eyes then went back eating.
" But I'm hungry. You should feed your fiancee. Don't be so rude. "
"What? You're her what?!" Donghae exclaimed.
" Fiancee. I thought you're close enough to her. Didn't she mention her ever famous fiancee? I'm deeply hurt princess. Didn't you mention me to him? "
He said then dragged his seat closer to her. He put his one arm around her waist then pulled her closer.
" Y-yah! W-what do you think you're doing? " She squirmed.
"Don't princess. I'm controlling my temper right now. You left without my permission. You didn't even dare to messsage where the hell you'll be going. I don't want them to witness some drama so behave. " He threateningly whispered in her ears.
She stopped struggling and behaved. "Uhm, Hae. This is Choi Seunghyun, my f-fiance. Seunghyun, this is Lee Donghae, my friend from highschool. "
She introduced the two.
Donghae could feel the tension once she introduced the two. When she mentioned his name, he knew right away that he is the son of the dominating Chois. He was the root of it all. He noticed his glare and returned it with equal intensity. Their intense stare was broken when she coughed a little.
" Well, let's just eat. Here. I don't know what you want. You're hungry right? Don't be choosy.
" She handed Seunghyun her other meal. She ordered for more than one person to be honest. She could finish it all but since he's here, she could hand him one.
" Don't worry I'm not picky. Besides, it's one of my favorite meal here. " He said then ate her meal.
Donghae couldn't help but feel bothered. This was supposed to be their day. Yet, here he was, looking like a third party. He controlled his temper.
'Think about Dara. Don't let your temper ruin everything.' He composed himself then eat.
Once they were outside the restaurant, tension went back again.
" So Dara, let's go? My car was parked over there. " He suddenly broke the tensed atmosphere.
"A-ah, y-yeah. U-uhm, Seunghyun. " She fidgeted. " I-i'll have to go. " She decided to leave. She didn't even make three steps when he held her arm.
" Where do you think you're going, princess? " He questioned as he glared at her.
" U-uhm, I asked Papa YG's permission to go to Busan with Donghae. He said yes. So, I'm leaving. " She answered nervously.
"And you didn't even ask if I'll agree? "
"Uhhh.. "
"Dara? " Donghae called as he saw her being held by Seunghyun.
" She's going with me. You can go to your car. We'll just follow you. " He answered for her.
"W-what?! " They both said in unison.
"I'm coming with you. And it's not even a question of yes or no. If you badly wanted to go to Busan, then you're coming with me. Now choose princess, You'll go and I'll come with you or we'll stay here. "
She looked at him if he was serious.
As if reading her mind, he answered. " I am serious. "
She didn't know it will escalate this quickly. One minute, they're eating lunch, now he's asking no, commanding her to go with him. Urrrgggghhhhh! He really know how to mess with her. She badly wanted to go and she has no other choice but to surrender. "Fine! "
She faced Donghae. "Hae, I'll go with him. You drive then we'll follow. "
" But..." He wanted to object. This was supposed to be their day! That Seunghyun ruined everything. He looked at her. Her decision was final and he couldn't do anything about it. "Okay, I understand. "
" Thanks Hae. " She was about to go to him to at least hug him but Seunghyun grabbed her hand and dragged her away from him.
While walking, she couldn't help but look at their hands. She tried to get her hand away from him, but he wouldn't let her.
"Yah! Let my hand go. "
He didn't say anything, Instead he intertwined their fingers. She was shocked to say the least. " Y-yah. "
"One more word and I'll kiss you. I'm mad right now. Don't talk to me. "
She surrendered and followed him instead. She feared for his threat. She knew that it was not an empty threat. He could do it. She was a living witness. She knew when to shut up. She suddenly remembered their kiss. She still could feel it and it still haunts her until now.
He went to his car and so was she. He let her hand go and entered the driver's seat. She heaved a sigh. She looked at her hand that was held by him earlier. She could feel his fingers into her.
He started the engine.
" Hand. " He said.
"W-what?"
"Your hand. "
"My what?"
" Your hand. "
"What will you do with my hand? "
He looked at her saying 'give it or else'. She relunctantly gave her right hand.
" The other one."
She gave her left.
He grabbed her hand then to her utter shock, he once again intertwined their fingers.
" Yah! Are you crazy? How could you drive with one hand? Do you want us to get into accident? "
"Quiet. " He started to drive. He easily located Donghae's car and followed it.
" But you can't drive with one hand! You shouldn't! It isn't safe! Why are you even doing it? " She ranted.
" I.Said.Quiet. "
"No! You're puting us in danger. I can't let that happen. Not in my permission. You know it's not sa-- "
She didn't get to finish her sentence. He stopped the car then tugged her hand and pulled her closer to him.
" I told you to stay quiet. Now, accept my punishment. " He said then kissed her. It was the same as the one he gave her days ago. But even better. With their one hand still intertwined, he use his other hand to reach for her nape to deepen the kiss. And like the first time, she kissed back.
When they ran out of breath, he broke the kiss. Their faces were only inches apart.
" Now stay quiet. I'm not in the mood right now. When I say I can drive with one hand, I can. I won't let us get hurt. " He ran his finger in her lips then stole another kiss.
Once finished, he released her then went back driving. Good thing there's traffic light ahead. He could still see Donghae's car. He followed him again, leaving her to deal with the situation.
'He kissed me. Again. And I let him again! What the hell's happening to me.'
