Summing Up...
'Baby Don't Cry' from EXO, (both K and M version means almost the same),
the song is based on the story 'The Little Mermaid'.
So, the version that is based is that, Little Mermaid turns and become Bubble Foam in the end which is mentioned in this part [4/4].
But the song is narrating from probably the Prince's Point of View whereby he told the Little Mermaid that she wouldn't become foam in the end and he would be the one who is enduring the pain instead of her.
And also, the Prince is telling the Mermaid to LOVE him [part 1/4],
but the Prince knows that he would only be bringing hurt to the girl whom he loves and so he hopes that everything didn't really happened. [part 2/4 and 3/4]
And so, I think that the Prince knew the story and the ending of the Little Mermaid and he is actually expressing what he wants to say to the girl whom she loves that, he loves her and would be protecting her from the hurt.
The 1st and 2nd sentence is as though the Prince is 'saying' it to the Mermaid.
Telling her to not hestitate and just hold onto his heart.
So, holding to his heart has got an abstracted/hidden meaning of 'not being afraid to love him'.
The 3rd and 4th would be comparing 'Love' with a ray of 'Light'.
The 4th sentence mentions about the Moonlight being glaring, so you could imagine the Prince looking up to the Moon and he's actually thinking about the Mermaid at the same time.
As for the 5th sentence, it's easily understood.
The 'emotional' part would come from the 6th sentence onwards.
6th sentence, 'If this is a sentence in a comedy', the 'sentence' probably mean the 'ENDING' of Little Mermaid - Becoming Foam.
7th Sentence, corresponding to 'Comedy', the Prince 'laughs it off', this has a hidden meaning that the Prince doesn't think the 'ENDING' would happen.
And the reason is told in the 8th sentence,
'I will exchange your love wih a scar', this probably means that, the Prince wouldn't mind being hurt in place of the Little Mermaid just to be able to be in love with her.
Rather straightforward, 10th sentence mentioning 'when the night sky lits up once again', the sun comes out,
12th sentence would mean that, 'the ENDING never happened like it is supposed to be which is that the Mermaid would become foam.'
and this is supported with the 13th sentence.
[Part 4/4]
So, 13th sentence supports the 12th sentence.
The 14th sentence is a 'question', the Prince probably is 'asking' the Mermaid that 'Don't she knows that the ending wouldn't be so hurtful' and the reason is because,
the Last sentence, The Prince would Protect her with his LOVE.
