Chapter 26
My CEO Boyfriend
"AND I WATCH AS THE COLD WINTER MELTS INTO SPRING... I'LL SMELL FLOWERS AND HEAR THE BIRDS SING AND I'LL BE REMEMBERING YOU..."
DONGHAE POV
As Ryeowook and I keep on hugging each other, we didn’t notice the presence of a tall, gorgeous man named Cho Kyuhyun. He looked so formal in his blue button down shirt, dark blue pants and black specs. His dagger look gave me the signal to let go of Ryeowook, his husband for three years.
“It’s been a long time, Kyuhyun-ah.” I beamed and reach out my hand.
Smiling, he reaches for my hand and shakes it, “Nice to see you again, hyung.” He said.
I asked them to sit and like a real appa, I took Mi Rae-ah and let her sit on my lap.
“So... how’s everything in LA? Are you guys back for good?” I asked.
Being the possessive yet over affectionate husband as he is, Kyuhyun entwined their hands before placing a kiss on top of it. If I’m diagnosed with Diabetes being near these two will make my life shorter than expected.
“It depends.” The taller Cho answered.
“Depends on what?”
“If you promise me that you will stop being mushy with my husband, then the possibility of staying here for good will be positive.” He laced his voice with humour, earning a playful slap from the petite man beside him.
“Kyu-ah! Your words please.”
It’s wonderful to be surrounded by good people and I can honestly say that Kyuhyun and Ryeowook are one of those. I’m truly blessed to have them in my life aside from mom and Jieun-ah. Not to mention this little girl on my lap.
Choi Mi Rae was an orphan before the couple adopted her three years ago. They were newlyweds back then and Ryeowook really wanted to have a girl in the family. After having series of talks, Kyuhyun finally agreed to adopt her. I once asked Ryeowook why he was so eager to have a daughter given that he just got married and should be enjoying the time with his husband. With lonely eyes he said that he misses his hyung so much.
He terribly missed his hyung named Lee Hyukjae.....
“Hyung? Hey... are you still with us?” the concerned voice of Ryeowook pulled me from myself loathing tendencies.
“Yeah... Where were we?” I try to sound as normal as possible but I failed miserably. Whenever I remembered the name Lee Hyukjae there’s always a heavy feeling inside my heart. A tightening force that is always bitter and painful.
“How about we talk about this over dinner? Sounds good?” Wookie suggested.
“Sounds good to me, yeobo. What do you think hyung?”
“Say yes, Hae appa. Please appa... please???” and there goes Cho Mi Rae’s effortless aegyo.
“Alright. Would you mind if we spend it at home? Mom is really excited to meet her granddaughter.”
Kyuwook couple look a little surprised when I said that but without any hesitation, both of them gave their approval. They stayed for few more minutes before they decided to leave.
After giving me a peck on the cheek, Mi Rae-ah asked me to put her down and she went straight to Kyuhyun who’s now few steps away from the door. I look at Ryeowook who’s trailing behind his husband and daughter with admiration and a hint of sadness. My steps halted when he stops and turn his head to me.
He reaches a hand to brush off my bangs with an understanding look on his chocolate brown orbs.
“It’s been years, hyung. Haven’t you remember something about your past? About Eunhyuk hyung?”
“I’m sorry Wookie-ah but I really can’t remember him... Every now and then I try look at the photo album you gave me hoping that my mind will recognize him and the feeling you said I had for him but I really can’t.”
With a hopeful smile on his flawless face, he gave me a tap on the shoulder and say, “Now that I’m back, we will resume where we left out. It’ll be hard but I’ll be with you every step of the way. I missed you, Donghae hyung.”
“I missed you more, Wookie dongsaeng. See you later.” We shared one last hug before I guide them out of the office.

After sending Cho family, I immediately went back to my office, tidy my table and went out again. Before pressing the “down” button of the elevator, I turn to my temporary secretary to leave a message.
“Yoojin-ssi, do cancel my afternoon appointments and reschedule it for next week. If there’s an important call that needs immediate action, don’t hesitate to forward the call to Leeteuk-ssi. Leave the monthly reports on my desk and I’ll check it tomorrow morning.”
“Will that be all, sajangnim?”
“I think that’s all, Yoojin-ssi.”
“Thank you and have a good day, sajangnim.” She bowed and resume on her work.
I walk my way towards the elevator and pressed “B”. As the metal doors closed, I let myself be drifted back to the vaguely memory of what happened five years ago.....
FLASHBACK.....
As I cracked open my eyes to be greeted by a sleeping Ryeowook by my side. I tried to speak but a damn tube was connected to my mouth and I feel so numb. I try to reorganize my thoughts by closing my eyes but in doing so, a terrible headache made me regret it. The pain was so intense that I had no choice but to let sleep take over.
I hear soft garbled voices.
“The police identified the burned
