The next morning, Jessica woke up to the bright sunlight that was shinning through her bedroom window.
Jessica was lazing on her bed, not wanting to wake up.
It was time for her to check out her school after arriving Singapore today, to get her timetable&every necessary material ready for school.

Upon arriving in her school, it was a pretty big campus for Jessica.
In Korea, studying in high school is like just normal any other secondary schools in Singapore with.
Campus for high school in Korea werent as big as polytechnic in Singapore.

Jessica's POV

Woah..
Ngee Ann Polytechnic is big..
And huge..
Maybe transfering here aint a bad idea at all..

Walking around the campus, it made Jessica felt that the campus was really big,
with lots of upslope that she has to climb which made her started to gasp for big breaths of air.

"Woah"
"Its so tiring to climb here&there"
"Like climbing the mountains everyday"
"Wonder how did the students here cope with their 3 years of school here.." grumbled Jessica

"Hey?"
"Are you a Korean too?" asked a petite girl with pretty pale complexion
"I heard you mumbling Korean to yourself"

Jessica just threw her a puzzled look, staring at her for seconds before responding.

"Err yeah?" replied Jessica with a doubtful look

"Kim Taeyeon imida!" introduced Taeyeon dorkily

"Oh, er Jessica Jung imida"

"Are you new here?"

Jessica just nodded coldly

"Well, same here!"
"But i've been here a few times for some administrative matters"
"You look lost here, do you need any help?" asked Taeyeon kindly

"I've been searching for the administration office"
"Cant seem to find it&have been climbing here&there for some time now"
"If you would, please direct me there" said Jessica coldly but politely

Jessica knew that for Koreans, manners are one important thing taught in the family.

"Sure, i'll be glad to!" said Taeyeon happily as she dragged Jessica over to the administration office.

A Korean here!
If she were in my course, how great would it be..

"Hey, Sica"
"Dont mind me calling you that right?" grinned Taeyeon widely

"Yeah up to you" replied Jessica without looking into Taeyeon's eyes

"By the way, which course are you admitted in?" asked Taeyeon suddenly

"International business"

"WOAH! WHAT A COINCIDENCE!" exclaimed Taeyeon brightly
"Im also in the course"
"Why are you in business?"
"Must be related to your family business right?" said Taeyeon as she examined Jessica from top to toe
"Im the daughter of this famous Korean clothing brand, The Dork"

"I see"
"Not really?"
"I just came from a normal family" lied Jessica

"Oh, nevermind"
"Here's the administration office" smiled Taeyeon brightly again to Jessica before leaving her

Not from a family that owns their own business..?
How can it be..
From one look, she looked rich..
Her clothes are all branded..

Plus, people hearing which family i came from should be really happy to be a friend of mine..
Why is she so cold to me?

While walking out of the administration office, after paying her school fees&getting all the orientation news,
Jessica went out to the straight bus stop to get a cab back home.
On the cab, Jessica was flipping through her enrolment package.

Freshmen orientation..
Applying for school identification card&something called the student pass..?
Hell, everything's so troublesome here..
Shall just attend freshmen orientation tomorrow..
If its fun i'll continue..
If its not, i'll just skip it i guess..

Now i need to get a passport size photo..
Where should i get it?
Maybe i should ask Taeyeon about it?
Wait, i dont even have her number.
Forget it, i'll just look it up in the internet myself later.

On the other side, Yuri was getting sick of school without Jessica by her side.
Now Yuri's finally missing Jessica's presence.
But dont know why, she cant get in touch with Jessica ever since she left Korea without leaving any words behind.
While YoonA's getting more&more irritated by Yuri's actions.

"Yuri~" whined YoonA cutely trying to get Yuri's attention
"Can you accompany me to the amusement park?"
"I've had it rented down today" said YoonA tugging onto the arms of Yuri

"Do you think Sica's coping well in Singapore?"
"Im worried for her" said Yuri bluntly

"SICA SICA SICA!"
"Forever its about SICA!"
"KWON YURI! IM YOUR GIRLFRIEND!"
"NOT THAT JUNG JESSICA!" shouted YoonA angrily as Yuri

Yuri was initially shocked at YoonA's sudden outburst but managed to regain her calm composure after that.
Yuri then walked over to YoonA&placed her arms over the furious YoonA.

"Awww.."
"Come on sweetie"
"Dont be like this, Sica's my best friend i've known since young"
"You shouldnt be jealous over her"
"You have me all to yourself alraedy" cooed Yuri
"She just simply lost contact with me, im worried thats all"
"I promised not to mention about her okay?"
"Dont be angry at me Yoon~"

YoonA turned to Yuri with a slightly appeased look

"Promise?"

"Of course" smiled Yuri
"Well, i remembered someone wanting to go to the amusement park"
"So what are we waiting for?" grinned Yuri as she led YoonA in her sports car.

Ever since she got together with YoonA, Yuri started driving her sports car to school because she wanted to have some time with YoonA,
fetching her to&fro from school, bringing her to anywhere to want.

However, the actual fact is,
deep down inside Yuri's heart, she was actually really worried about Jessica's well-being in another foreign country.
Yuri was worried if Jessica would get bullied because of her cold personality, or being casted aside like an outcast.
Everything about Jessica worries Yuri.
As long as Yuri's not by Jessica's side, Yuri's worried for her.
Well, the thing is, whenever Jessica's in trouble, she wouldnt bother to retaliate or do anything but just let things get to her.
Her mindset was that, the bullies will eventually get tired about bullying&leave her alone.
Normally, when Yuri found out that she was bullied, she would stand up for Jessica.
If not, Jessica would have to skip school for a few days because her asthma attack due to the bullies who did horrible things on her.

I missed you..

While Yuri was accompanying YoonA onto all the rides, trying to give YoonA her fullest attention,
her mind always flows to somewhere else, thinking about Jessica.
Yuri doesnt really want that to happen actually.
But still, it did&it left Yuri really helpless&lost on what to do.
She doesnt want to disappoint or make YoonA angry, but on the other hand couldnt really control her feelings&heart well.

At a famous ice-cream parlour which only entertains to the rich as they serves only the finest ice-cream,
YoonA dragged Yuri into the ice-cream parlour cutely.

"Why are we here?" asked Yuri puzzled

"Well, cant we have ice-creams?" pouted YoonA
"I love ice-creams, they have the finest ice-creams here"

Flashback;

"Yuri, i love icream!"
"Lets go have some!" exclaimed Jessica excitedly as she tugged Yuri to a roadside ice-cream stall.
"Halraeborji, can i have two cones of strawberry ice-cream?" asked Jessica politely

While the grandfather was scooping the ice-cream for them, Yuri pulled her to a side.

"Yah Sica"
"You sure about this?"
"Eating roadside ice-creams?"
"What if its unhygenic?"
"What if its gonna cause you an asthma attack?" asked Yuri worriedly

"What are you talking about Yul!"
"Roadside item doesnt mean they are unclean okay!"
"Plus, look at how old the halraeborji is"
"If buying an ice-cream is what we can do to help him why shouldnt we do it?" smirked Jessica as she went over to the vendor&passed him a 10,000won bill.

"Keep the change" smiled Jessica sweetly as she walked back to Yuri with a satisfied smile
"Here, Yul"
"A strawberry for you" winked Jessica as she walked over to a nearby bench&sat down, her pink ice-cream with a satisfied look.

"Whats with all these?"
"Shouldnt you be dining like your parents?"
"In some high-class restaurant?" asked Yuri while looking at the ice-cream with a disgusted look

"Yul, stop staring at it like it has some contagious disease on it!" snapped Jessica impatiently
"I'll finish it up for you if you think its that disgusting!" said Jessica as she grabbed the ice-cream over.

"Dont!" exclaimed Yuri as she snatched the ice-cream back
"Its not good for your health to eat that much ice-cream!"

"Well, you dont want it yourself"
"Such high mighty people like you dont want low-class snacks like this"
"Thats why i took it back" mocked Jessica sacarstically

After a while of awkward silence, Jessica spoke.

"Yuri, did you know..?"
"Expensive, classy places that appeared as if their food were the highest class of all"
"Actually arent as delicious as you thought.."
"Yup there are lots of places people of our same social statuses blabbered around"
"How great&nice all the food were"
"However, i felt that food from the roadside stalls were nicer.."
"Not everyone gets to enjoy food like us, so its kinda boring going around with all the same old people who loved to flaunt their riches"
"I'll rather enjoy a normal life like any others" explained Jessica with a deep sigh
"I just want to help the poor, buying the food they made or cooked with love is helping them"
"Why not?"

"Why not we go&have ice-cream somewhere else Yoon?"
"I know that there's this roadside stall, this halraeborji sells pretty delicious ice-cream" smiled Yuri sweetly

"Roadside stall?!"
"EWWW! Its dirtyy Yul~"
"Germs, pests~" said YoonA with a disgusted look
"Why do you suggest those places?"
"It must be because you've hung out with that cheap Jessica for too long right?" asked YoonA with a doubting look

"Hey Yoon"
"Dont be so mean, Sica's not cheap!" said Yuri, trying to keep her annoyed voice from bursting out on YoonA's rudeness

Jessica never loved to flaunt her wealth around people.
She thought that its kinda rude to you know, flaunt her riches around people.
So not much people know about how rich or which family Jessica came from except for Yuri.

"Well, she is"
"She brings you to those cheap places"
"Those cheap places are so dirty, she cant even afford to bring you to nice places like this" said YoonA bluntly

"YoonA, Sica's my best friend"
"How can you insult her in this way?" snapped Yuri impatiently

"You're mad because i said a few bad things about her?"
"Fine, go ahead"
"You always place Jessica before me" said YoonA angrily as she crossed her arms

"YoonA.." sighed Yuri disappointedly
"Cant you at least understand me a little bit..?"
"I know, you dont like me to mention about Sica.."
"But its a fact that she entered my life earlier than you"
"I cant remove her from my daily conversation right immediately after you requested it.."
"At least, give me some time okay?" explained Yuri, trying to get YoonA to believe her.

"Fine"
"1 week"
"Thats all you get!" snapped YoonA angrily as she dined into her ice-cream, ignoring Yuri who was sitting quietly eating her ice-cream away.

Why cant YoonA understand me..?
Its like she's no longer the YoonA i used to know..
Feelings like those just come by naturally..

Now even words that will be coming out of my mouth,
I'll have to think twice about it before letting it out of my mouth..

Travelling back to Jessica's side, it was the first day of orientation for her.
Jessica woke up early in the morning to prepare for her orientation day since her orientation starts at 9am.
Travelling from her place to school takes usually around an hour so Jessica woke up at around 7am&started preparing for school.

"Geez"
"Cant believe im actually living in Singapore"
"Studying abroad alone" grumbled Jessica as she walked around the room getting her stuffs

She's still not used to the house that she had rented.
Tumbling around items, forgetting where the items&switches were placed.

"Gosh"
"Everything's so irritating here" complained Jessica as she kicked the paper bin in frustration

Within an hour, Jessica finally had everything ready for orientation.
Or what she supposed was needed.
Plugging her earphones into her ears, she headed for the bus stop.
45 minutes later, Jessica had finally arrived at school.
Lots of different crowds were seen at the bus stop, different people of different coloured tee.
Following the instructions of the paper that Jessica had gotten the day before when she visited the administration office,
she walked towards the school of business.
Climbing up the slope already made Jessica pant quite a bit, she cant imagine whats going to happen everyday.

Jessica's POV

Woah..
Its so tiring..
This is my course's building?
I'll have to climb like this everyday..?
I guess i'll need to bring my inhaler with me everyday..
But i didnt bring mine since everything was such a rush..

Wait..
Where's that doctor's information omma had texted me..?
I dont wanna faint on the pavement for the first day of school,
im gonna look like a clown.

While settling down with the other freshmen, waiting for the others to gather in.
Jessica just sat there, emotionless, staring into the blank space.
Mumurings, whisperings were actually heard all over the places.
But Jessica just couldnt be bothered with it.

"YAH!" exclaimed Taeyeon as she sat behind Jessica
"Freshmen huh?"

"Yeah" answered Jessica coldly

"You know, being such a cold person doesnt attract any guys"
"You're so pretty but your personality shuns people away, Sica" commented Taeyeon

"Well, im here to study not to get guys"

"I was just kidding!" giggled Taeyeon dorkily

"Now i've finally understood why your family brand is called - The dork" whispered Jessica under her breath

"Im so excited Sica!"
"About this freshmen orientation!"
"Its so new to me!"
"I've never had something like this is Korea" exclaimed Taeyeon excitedly as she looked around the crowd with anticipation

"Im not" mumbled Jessica

"Welcome all the freshmen to the business school in Ngee Ann!"
"We sincerely thank you all to pick Ngee Ann as your choice!" said the group leaders suddenly
"We'll start our orientation now!"
"Basically, our orientation is for you to make new friends before the school officially starts"
"And to bring you around our school for a tour to get you guys familiarize with the school incase you know"
"Lost ships here and there" chuckled the group leaders
"All of you are already spilt into different classes"
"So your own group leaders, which is called GL for short will be bringing you guys around"
"Have fun okay?!"
"Bonding games will be played later after we've toured around the school!"
"Let the fun begin!" shouted the GLs as they started walking to their own groups, getting them to stand up&out of the gathering hall.

While walking around the school, climbing up&down the school,
Taeyeon who was beside Jessica the whole time, blabbering nonsense here&there,
talking non-stop to Jessica who didnt replied at all realised that Jessica was panting badly.

"Are you okay, Sica?"
"Is it that tiring that you're panting so much?" asked Taeyeon innocently

"Yeah"

"Yeah?"
"Yeah for being okay?"
"Or yeah because u agreed its that tiring that made you pant so much?"

"Can you stop asking me questions when im already panting so much?" snapped Jessica impatiently

"Araesso araesso"
"Dont snap at me like this" pouted Taeyeon cutely as she turned away

Lagging behind everyone, Jessica heard the other classmates gossipping about Taeyeon&herself.

"Hey, dont you think the two girls are so pretty?"
"They are so gorgeous"

"Yeah, i think so too"
"But one is just too cold?"
"While the other one is just too cute!" commented one of the guy class mate

Thinking that Jessica couldnt understand much English because she came from Korea,
the boys started gossipping about the prettiest girls&it turned out that Taeyeon&Jessica were being compared.
However, Jessica could actually understand every single word that they said.
But just couldnt be bothered with them.
Jessica felt like there were just plain childish on comparing the physical looks of a girl.

"Hey Sica" called Taeyeon happily as she skipped to the back to accompany Jessica
"Do you wanna take a rest?"
"You're like really exhausted" commented Taeyeon worriedly as she brought Jessica down to the side&rest
"Do you wanna go back&rest?"

"Yeah"
"I think i should" replied Jessica as she stood up

"I'll accompany you back"
"Im worried you're gonna collapse somewhere on the streets" said Taeyeon as she followed Jessica out of the school&hailed a cab.

Around 20 minutes of travelling back, Jessica got back to her rented room.
Taeyeon was at first a little shocked at where Jessica was living, but then realized what she said earlier was true.
Jessica probably really came from a normal family, not rich or anything.

"Is this your house?" asked Taeyeon awkwardly

"Nope, its just a rented one" said Jessica as she plopped herself down onto her bed tapping on her phone.

*PHONE CALL*

"Yoboseyo"

"Anyeonghaeseyo"
"Jessica Jung imida"

"Oh, Jessica!"
"I know, your dad has spoken to me about you"
"I was expecting your call"

"Yeah"
"So i was thinking when are you free so that i can make an appointment with you?"
"Well, i came here in such a hurry that i didnt get to bring my inhaler over"

"In that case, do you wanna come over now or tomorrow?"
"Im sure i can squeeze time out for you"

"I think tomorrow is fine"
"Dont wanna disrupt your schedule"
"I'll see you tomorrow"

"Okay then"
"I'll see you then"

*END OF PHONE CALL*

"Inhaler?" asked Taeyeon dumbfounded
"You're asthmatic?"
"Thats why you were panting so hard just now?"

Jessica just gave Taeyeon a "duh" face instead of opening to reply her.

"Why not you live with me Sica?"
"I mean, like you know, roommates?"
"Im living alone" smiled Taeyeon

"No thank you"
"Dont wanna trouble anyone"
"Plus, i dont even know you well & you're inviting someone you just met to live with you?"
"You're too naive" commented Jessica

"Why not?"
"We're Koreans"
"Theres nothing much between us"
"No language barrier, no anything" protested Taeyeon as she started packing Jessica's belongings

"YAH!"
"What are you doing?!" exclaimed Jessica in shock.
