Chapter 8 : I’ll Go

Chanyeol’s POV

‘The Leading Companies Joined Forces.  Choi’s Company, led by Choi Hamin had recently joined forces with Han Youngman’s business. The two not only had built an empire together but decided to match make their daughter and son who were both in their late teens. Choi’s daughter, Choi Haerin is 18 years old while Han’s son is 19 years old. Han’s son, Han Daehyun is a fine young man who was already rumored to be taken into University of Oxford fully sponsored by the government. He befriended with the top names around the globe, including Choi’s elder child, Choi Haejin. He produced some classical pieces in his teen days and also the runner-up for the ‘Young Golfer Tournaments’ after claiming the top spots since 2006. His frienemy, Haejin took over his title since 2010. He recently graduated from one of the top private schools in New Zealand, King’s College. Daehyun and Haerin had known each other since their parents were close. With the engagement of these two, the stocks of Choi and Han’s had been increasing. Choi said that he might tie the knot between these two after Haerin finished her high school by next year.’

The article had been budging me since I read it. Every single word hurts me. I still couldn’t believe that Haerin’s getting married in any moment. I stormed out of the hotel and went straight to the beach. I’m not being sulky but I really do starting to like her—a lot. The moment when I try giving myself some rays of hope, Han Daehyun came crushing my world.

I looked at myself. You’re an idol. You’re a celebrity. And Mr.Choi, a top businessperson won’t let his only daughter to marry someone who has no fixed jobs. Of course he would pick Han Daehyun. He’s profile is just amazing. Even if I’m a girl, I would totally be all over him. There’s no way that Haerin would choose me over him. He’s perfect.

“Chanyeol oppa,” I turned around and saw Haerin. She curved a smile at me and signaled me to sit down with her. She sat down first on the fine sand.

I sat. The thoughts won’t leave my head. I’m sitting with the girl I like and I cannot even hold my head up high. Moments passed and I finally looked at her. We didn’t talk at all but even only with her presence alone, I calmed down. She rested her head on my shoulder. I gasped and stiffened. ‘No, you can’t do this. You have someone else. Someone better than me.’

“I’m a rich man’s daughter.” She said. I remained calmed as I already went through this already.

“I fell in love with you at first sight.”

“Tsk.” I looked at her. Does she think I’m joking? Or is she just laughing at my feelings? “That’s impossible.”

“Why?”

“I went to your concerts. I went to your fansigns events, fanmeetings,” she smiled. I froze and couldn’t help but to smile as well. “We met each other many times already.”

“Then, I have huge feet,”

“I’m a spoiled brat.”

“I sound like an old man.”

“I like Luhan in EXO-M.”

“W-What?!”

“Your turn.”

“Luhan?! I enjoy being with SNSD sunbaes.”

“I like Lay too,”

“I like 2NE1 songs,”

“I’m in love with B.A.P’s Daehyun.”

“B.A.P?!”

“It’s oppa’s turn.”

“I wanna kiss you right now.”

She looked at me. I stared at her. I stared at her eyes, nose, and lips. I couldn’t help but to grew closer to her. Our lips were only 2 inches apart. I closed my eyes.

“I-I’m getting married,” she looked away.

“I know.”

“H-How—“

“I did a little stalking.”

“I don’t like him, though… It was arranged.”

“I still wanna kiss you now.”

“My father was admitted to the hospital lately.”

“W-What?”

“And I’m not his real daughter.”

“Hae—“

“I just found out the other day. That’s why I ran away. My real parents abandoned me. I’m not Choi Hae--”

I kissed her. And the moments stayed for a few seconds. She broke the kiss and immediately turned away. We were both blushing.

“I-I love you,” her words were sincere. I couldn’t help but to squeal inside.

I cupped her face. Her eyes were still looking away.

“Look at me,”

She slowly turned her gaze.

“And, I love you too,”

I pressed my lips against her again. It was soft and pleasantly beautiful. My hands slowly grabbed her waist and pulled her closer to me. She hesitated a bit but then kissed me back. I’m sure of it now; I love her. I really do.

Nobody’s POV

“OMO! OMO! OMO! OMO! He’s trying to kiss her!” Xiumin shouted as he peeked through the windows. The other members hurried and joined him.

“WHERE?! WHERE?!”

“Eyyy, she rejected him.”

“…..!”

“He KISSSSED her!!!!” The boys were panicking. They were high-fiving each other. Some were laughing hysterically and manager hyung clapped his hands happily. Suho pretended to tear up, saying that, he’s so happy that one son had grown up so much.

“I want to kiss too,” Sehun confessed. The hyungs looked at him in disbelief. He realized that his thoughts went out and still kept a poker face.

“Make that as 2 sons,” Kris told Suho.

Your POV

The kiss was magical. After a while, we broke off. It was nothing much but it meant a lot to me. I touched my lips. >//////< and I immediately blushed like crazy. My face was becoming so red. I stole a glance at Chanyeol. He also looked away. ‘Well, this is awkward.’

“That’s my first kiss.” I kept a serious face and stared at the beach. There were not much people there.

“You never do it with your future husband?”

“I never even hold hands with him.”

“We never did it too. I’m your boyfriend and I never hold your hands yet.”

“B-boy—“

“Yup,” he looked at me and grabbed my hands. “Boyfriend.”

“Then I am…”

“My girlfriend.”

“I am oppa’s girlfriend.” I smiled. “I’m Park Chanyeol’s girlfriend.”

We both chuckled and fell back in silence.

“I can’t believe I’m cheating on Daehyun. B.A.P’s Daehyun.”

“…..”

My phone suddenly rang. Sungra.

“I’m sorry,” the voice called on the other side.

“It’s alright.”

“I did a lot of thinking. And I’m really sorry.”

“I said it’s totally fine.”

“Promise me you won’t get mad at me.”

“I promise.”

“Okay, then. I’m hanging up. Thank you.”

“No, thank you.”

“Haerin…”

“Yes?”

“ItoldHaejinthatyou’reinHawaiiandhe’sgoingtheretobringyouback. I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to. He just threatened me and you know how intimidating he could be…I’m sorry…” With that, she ended the call.

“Your friend?”

I nodded. I’m still digesting Sungra’s words just now. Haejin oppa’s coming to bring me back!

“Give me your phone.”

“EH?” I snapped out of my thoughts. “This?”

He took it and did something to it. Wait—my wallpaper…

He smiled. “I’m not that handsome here.”

He pulled my shoulders and put our faces together. “Let’s change our wallpapers.”

“This is soo much better.” He grinned happily and kept touching stuff on my phone. He took out his phone and pressed something too. I just stared blankly at him as he did his things.

“Here.” I took my phone and looked at it. What did he do to it?

I looked at the wallpaper and it showed our picture we just took.

“Try pressing 1.” I did as he told.

*Speed dialing #1; My Yeollie*

“Tsk, so childish.” I chuckled and asked for his phone too.

*Speed dialing #1; My Hae-Hae*

“Hae-Hae?” he laughed. “Who told you to mess around with my name?!” I started chasing him but he’s too fast for me.

“Yeollie! You evil thing!”

We went back to the hotel, holding hands.

“Haerin-ah!” I turned around. I let go of myself from Chanyeol’s hand. He seemed taken aback.

“H-Haejin oppa,” my brother came closer. His hands were folded across his chest.

“Your oppa? I thought he’s in Korea,” Chanyeol whispered.

“I thought the same too.” I replied. My eyes were still glued to my so-called-twin brother.

He reached us. “Let’s get you home.”

“No.”

“You know how much trouble I had coming here? Let’s go home.”

“No. I won’t.”

“Haejin-ssi…” Chanyeol tried to talk with Haejin.

“I’m her big brother. I know what’s best for her.”

“And I’m her boyfriend. She loves me.”

Both boys stared closely at each other. They were battling with their minds.

“I never know that he’s as tall as me.”

“I thought Haerin was single.”

They were having this serious staring contest as I looked nervously at the scene in front of me.

“Stop it, you two.”

“You’re coming back to Korea.”

“She’s staying here. With me.”

“Wait—I know you. You’re the one she has on her wall back at home. Haerin, would you care to explain this?!”

“Let’s sit down first.”

“No. Spill it out.”

Without any choices, I had to tell Haejin everything. From the first day of the trip and until my relationship with Chanyeol which just occurred earlier.

“You’re an idol.” Haejin looked straight into Chanyeol’s eyes. “You cannot make her happy. I knew it.”

“And you need to give Haerin some space to think. To act on her own.”

“Sister, you need to go to your room now and think! Think whether you want to stay or not. If you’re leaving with me, pack your stuff right away. And if you don’t, you have to think on the aftermath of your reckless decision.”

“Just go for now, Haerin.” Chanyeol said. He flashed his widest smile and gesture me not to worry.

I stepped heavily into the elevator. Two men came up to me and stood behind me. ‘Must be my bodyguards.’

Nobody’s POV

Chanyeol and Haejin sat face to face on the hotel’s restaurant. Chanyeol sighed. ’It haven’t even been a few hours that we started our relationship and dilemma just rolled in right away.’

“Chanyeol hyung, right?” Chanyeol nodded. ‘He called me hyung. Is that a good sign?’

“Haerin talked about hyung a lot before. And I must admit that it was truly a miracle for you two to meet here. Don’t get me wrong. I like hyung a lot since my sister’s fancying hyung. But… things had been hard right now.”

“I know. Mr. Choi was recently involved in an accident.”

“She must’ve told hyung. Even the reporters knew nothing about it... Hyung, think carefully; is the love you received from her is truly enough? And do hyung ever think that she’s sincere enough to be with hyung?”

“I could feel it.”

“And even if she did, are hyung confident that she’s the one for you?”

“I’m sure of this.”

“What will happen to your career then? How will you spill this to your boss? What if Haerin’s got hurt by your fans? Don’t you ever think that she’ll be alone if you have some useless schedules?”

“I want to be with her.”

“Don’t be selfish. She’s not in her real state. The news she just received is too much for her. It must’ve been something she totally did out of curiosity. THIS will totally bring hyung’s career down the drain.”

“But—“

“She was barely 2 weeks old when my parents took her in. My supposedly real twin sister couldn’t survive. Haerin was abandoned by her parents. Since then, she’s our family. She’s my parents’ daughter and will always be my little twin sister. We were living very happily all this time and we’ll always be. It doesn’t matter if we’re not blood-related to each other. All that matter was love. And she felt loved whenever we’re around.”

“Haejin-ssi…”

“Hyung, you NEED TO LET HER GO!”

“I’ll go.”
