"Don't you know better enough?" Eerily, Hyun Suk's was calm, however there was a hardened tone to it that run specifically through Ava's guilty ears. She ran a listless hand through her dark hair, bowing her head apologetically. She lowered her gaze solemnly, muttering a gentle, "Choe song hamnida."
Hyun Suk scoffed, drawing a puzzled look from Ava. He shook his head lightly, muttering incoherent utterings to himself distastefully, a throttled scowl lining his chapped lips. He clicked his tongue, drawing his eyes back to Ava, who shifted her gaze downwards to her feet. "What were you thinking?" he inquired seriously. "You sleep with him, and you think you could get away with it? What, do you not care for your career anymore? Did you not see what I had to do with Byeol?"
"Abeoji, I said I was sorry, okay?" Ava sighed. "It was a stupid decision, I know, but everybody --"
"You're not just everybody, Ava. You're more than just an anybody. You're an idol; you have to be more conservant of your image and more careful of how you're portraying yourself. If this got out to anyone besides your peers, you would've been in a lot more trouble. People would've understood you to be easy.. what do you call it nowadays? A ?" Hyun Suk scoffed, shaking his head once more, as if to enunciate his pending disappointment. His grimace penetrated through Ava's gulity expression, reading into her vulnerable soul. He narrowed his eyes seriously, his dry lips. "You know these foolish actions come with a consequence."
"Ne, Abeonim."
"I'm going to have to pull you out of 'Style' promotions."
"He's what?"
Ava looked down, rubbing her neck sheepishly, avoiding Anna's glowering gaze. "I told you!" she hollered suddenly, forcing Ava to cringe back from the sudden outburst. "I told you to be more careful; it was a bad idea, oh god!"
"What's going on?" Kyo Jin bounced out of the kitchen, blinking innocently at the commotion eminating from the living room. "Uh-oh," she sang, catching sight of Ava's distressed features. "What happened?"
"Her stupid decisions made her get pulled out of our comeback," Anna retorted bitterly, snapping, and whipping around into her bedroom. Kisa, from behind watched the scene unfold in front of her. She whistled lowly. "So much for no strings attached, her. Not only were there no strings attached to you and Yongguk, but some strings were snapped between you and Abeoji, huh?"
Ava scowled, earning Kisa a smack on the arm from Vivien. "Shut up," the latter scolded. "It's okay, Ava-unnie," Vivien muttered. "At least you'll have another project, right? You're not... suspended are you?"
"Of course not," Kisa remarked.
"I didn't ask you," Vivien growled, turning her attention back to Ava shortly after.
"He's putting me onto the fashion show for Vogue."
Kisa's jaw dropped. "Why in the hell are you sad?!"
"Are you saying you'd rather go solo for a Vogue show than perform with us?" Kyo Jin blinked.
"Well, wouldn't anybody?!"
"Just you," Ava sneered. "Selfish ."
"Selfless ."
Ava and Kisa growled at each other. "You know, you should just it up and stop bawling like such a baby. I have friends who are going through so much than you are, yet you have the audacity to sit and weep here like you're some pathetic fangirl that just found out her bias has a girlfriend. Pathetic, you know that?" Kisa tittered.
"You have friends?" Kyo Jin snapped. "Ava is a subordinate. How could you be so disrespectful?"
"Arent' you subordinate of mine? How could you be so biased? You should even out your thoughts and priorities before you open your mouth. Compared to what I've seen back from where I've come from, and from what I've seen and experienced with my friends, being pulled out of a comeback to be placed into a highly renowned project is nothing to sulk over."
Kisa seethed through her gritted teeth, growling angrily. "You're all just pathetic little schoolgirls," she continued. "Crying over nothing; making something out of nothing. Constant drama with yall. Can't get enough of it, can you?"
"Get out," Vivien demanded stoicly. "That's enough. Come back when you're lucid. Ava, go to your room; Kyo Jin, stay out of it. I'll go talk to Anna to calm down. You all should know better. We debuted with each other for one sole purpose: to perform as one. We can't do that, with only five people, I know, but we have to pull through. We're not going to accomplish anything, however, with us fighting and bickering constantly. So just take time to yourselves. We have been blessed with a day off, so make use of it and stop flinging careless profanities at each other."
Kisa opened , but shut it promptly, shaking her head. "You're all stupid," she muttered, before ripping her jacket off the coathanger, She grumbled incessantly, picking up her shoes and throwing them on, being sure to slam the door on her way out.
Vivien nodded to Ava and Kyo Jin, sending them respectively to their faithful places.
Hannie, however, at the corner of the room, finally picked herself up and uncrossed her tight arms. "Lots of drama, huh?' she retorted bluntly, slumping down onto the loveseat beside Vivien. "So much for being once. We're missing out on two people, now."
"Abeoji knows what he's doing," Vivien objected loyally.
Hannie clicked her tongue. "He knows what he's doing as our boss, not as our caretaker."
"Huh?"
"Abeoji broke his promise," Hannie murmured, flicking on the television. Absently, she hummed, "He said he'd take care of us and make sure we won't get hurt. But first it was me, then Haebyeol, and Ava. What else is next? Doesn't make you wonder?" Hannie inquired plainly. "Which one of us is next to be exposed to vulnerability?"
Vivien drew her head back, placing it blandly on the top of the headboard of the couch. "Probably Kisa."
"She's been edgy lately," Hannie agreed.
"All we can do is hope for the best."
"Isn't that a bit much?"
"Am I supposed to know?!" Kisa hollered, kicking away a pillow. Hyunseung stared at her blankly, shaking his head. "You're overthinking it," he told her wisely. Her best friend dropped a lazy arm around her, his lips tenderly meeting her forehead. "Just calm down," her told her softly, rubbing her slumped shoulders. "Calm down and breathe."
"How could they be so stupid?" Kisa whispered, jutting her bottom lip out into a frustrated pout. She gritted her teeth angrily, seething as she heard Hyunseung sigh defeatedly. "Why do I feel so ostracized?"
Hyunseung shrugged, laying on his bed, his feet laying gently beside Kisa's seated figure. "Why did I say about calming down?"
He sat up again, groaning as he heaved his heavy body up to sit Kisa atop his lap. He giggled boyishly, enveloping his arms around Kisa as he laid his chin on her shoulder. She moaned tiredly, leaning her head onto her companion's bony shoulder. "Dear god, someone save me; I'm going insane, Seunggie!" she whimpered playfully.
Hyunseung let out a throaty chuckle, his chest rumbling against Kisa's back. "I'll keep you sane, dongsaeng."
Hyunseung let Kisa out of his dorm with a brief wave, only closing the door after seeing her turn down the long corner. Suddenly, the door jerked, closing shut tight, almost taking his fingers. Hyunseung yelped loudly, squeaking as he came face to face with Junhyun's scowling visage. "Gosh, hyung," the younger retorted, rubbing his sore fingers. "You should at least -- hey, what's the matter?"
Junhyung's growl was evidently heard as it chortled from the back of his coarse throat. "What are you doing?" the elder sneered.
Hyunseung blinked innocently. "H-huh...?"
"Sitting with Kisa on your lap so nonchalantly?" Junhyung grimaced. "What are you doing with my girl?"
Hyunseung's eyes then, twinkled, glimmering with a devious mysteriousness. A mischievious smile played at his thin lips, irking Junhyung to a furthered level. "Dont forget who met her first," Hyunseung sang playfully.
"Don't forget who called dibs first."
"Yeah," Hyunseung agreed partially. "Me."
Junhyun simpered with disbelief, throwing his head back rudely. "Right," he muttered sarcastically. "'Cause a girl like Kisa would go for a stick figure like you?"
"I've known her all my life; she'd rather go for a stick figure than a douche, hyung."
"You watch it --"
"She doesn't like violence, either... hyung." Hyunseung smiled, tittering with a happy chirp in his voice, crisp with mocking mirth. "All is fair.. in love and war, remember?"
"You're a bastard," Ava whispered harshly over the phone.
"You consented," the voice boomed calmly from the other end. "Don't make me the bad guy, Ava. Just calm down."
"You.. convinced me!"
"And you let yourself be convinced. Why are you calling me anyways?" he inquired frankly. "I thought you said it was just one night."
"It's not as easy as it sounds; my career could potentially become ruined because of you. How are you fine but I'm not?!" Ava roared furiously, vioce muffled by her hand.
A sigh rang from the other end of the line before the dial tone click. But not shortly after his last words: "Weren't you the one that agreed it to be a no-strings attached relationship? Are you falling in love with me, or are you just a selfish hypocrite, Ava?"
She gaped at her phone, yanking it fiercely away from her ear with utmost anger. Bang Yongguk, you nappeun namja!
"How could you be so heartless?"
