Still Here

Hannie pulled off her Ray Bans swiftly, blinking curiously down at the short student before her. "An autograph...?"
"Ne.. like you sign something for me," the girl explained slowly, furrowing her thin eyebrows shortly together.
"You're not.. here to yell at me?" Hannie catechized suspiciously, leaning in closer. She eyd the girl meticulously, closing in on the girl; the distance between them was small enough for the girl to feel Hannie's warm breath trickle down her jaw. The student stammered uncontrollably, drawing Hannie back in laughter. The maknae smirked, taking the notebook that was handed to her, enclosing it tightly around her slender fingers before taking the marker that was offered. She blinked a few times before twisting her wrist, gliding the pen across the slick paper in an artistic fashion, scribbling her name sloppily onto the surface.

"That's the first ever autograph I've ever given during my career," Hannie boasted proudly, "so take good care of it, arachi?"
The girl nodded fervently, her small eyes ogling over the piece of work Hannie elaboarately designed. "Get home," Hannie nagged her. "Don't get sick, now. If you catch a cold, it'll be because you confronted me in this damned rain, and I'd feel bad.. what a drag, even when I'm running out of s to give to," she muttered, the last bits of her sentences falling into a hushed whisper.
"Ne!" And with that, the schoolgirl ran off, umbrella fighting against the beating winds coming in from the south. Once or twice, Hannie noticed that the girl stumbled over a crack or two, but having enough of looking after the girl, she turned around, and resumed her trek home. But something was different this time. What was it?

The burden on both her heart and shoulders was suddenly lifted; Hannie could hardly remember the nasty comments that she was sulking over just five minutes ago. And so, dismissing the thought of her being vulnerable for the past hour, she continued on her journey back to the dormitories, smiling playfully to herself, feeling the soft pelting of the rain thump onto her orange head.

"Aish," Hannie cursed, scratching her head. "I wonder how pissed Kisa-unnie is right now."

"You ignorant brat!"

Quite angry, Kisa was.

"You think you can just walk out in the rain, putting up the Mr. Cool Guy act on us?! Do you realize how worried sick we were over you!? You were out for about an hour, in the pouring rain; with that storm raging, I'm surprised you weren't whisked away by the wind. Girl, you better trudge your back into your room and keep it there!"

As much as Hannie wanted to roll her eyes, she felt the six other girls' sincerity waft into the thick atmosphere, overflowing Hannie's conscience with guilt. "Look, I'm sorry, okay?" she mumbled, pouting stubbornly. "I just needed fresh air."
"You ain't gon' get any fresh air here! Seoul's probably even more polluted than LA." Ava remarked. "Jesus, Hannie, don't make us fuss over you that much ever again!"
"Can I go wash up now?" Hannie drawled.
"Go," Anna pushed her into the bathroom, draping a large towel over her head. She glanced at her subordinated, cocking an expectant brow. "And don't yel at her anymore," Anna told them. "We can be pretty touchy, too, when it comes to hateful comments. We probably just handle it better because we're older; just because she's in this group with us, don't forget the fact that she's still young, araseo?"

Everybody nodded. But Kisa wouldn't have it. Something was quite off about Hannie; especially that scent from Kisa caught before she was shrugged off by the precious maknae. "I'll be back."

The others didn't follow her; they only caught her stalking off into the maknae's room, but paid no mind to it. The others assumed she was just going to prepare the bed for Hannie, but were they wrong. Kisa was snooping, and when she lifted her companion's thick duvet covers and bedsheets up from the twin-sized bed, she found her treasure.

Kisa leaned down, fingers grazing the half-empty bottles. Some were full and untouched, but that was a scarcity, compared to those that have been tainted by the teenager's bitter lips. Kisa smirked, snagging one to examine closely; she scoffed. The sound of the water running from the shower was loud and clear, for the bathroom was right across the hall from Hannie's room; and it seemed to Kisa that Hannie wasn't planning on coming out anytime soon.

"Nappeun yeoja," Kisa muttered to herself, smirking solemnly. A streak of concern, mixed with disappointment clouded her eyes, hiding behind a mask of anger. "Do you realize what you're doing to yourself?"
Johnnie Walker, Hennessy, Jack Daniel's, Bailey's, Hannie pretty much had a whole stalwart collection. Staunch and stubborn as she was, Kisa misunderstood her donsaeng and perceived her to be just a troubled teen, going through a rebellious stage. She sighed heavily, pushing back the bottles into the respective place before replacing the duvet covers and spread sheets. She kicked away some lint from her foot before erecting her back. And so she turned, satisfied with her discovery; she was ready to exit the small perimeter when all-too familiar figure lingered by the doorway, leaning against the door, a sick smirk lining her full lips.

"Like what you saw?"

Hannie tilted her head curiously, eyes burning with a passion Kisa was unable to decipher. A dampened towel hung around Hannie's neck, her moist hair dripping droplets of water onto the floors and seeping down her warm neck; around her body, she had a loose t-shirt with some basketball shorts draping over her;  typical attire for a kid that has just stepped out of the shower, but after this.. Kisa was sure she would never be able to look at Hannie the same again.

"What are you thinking?" Hannie whispered. The youngster was almost scared to know. There was undecipherable emotions lingering in Kisa's eyes. Maybe it was disappointment, maybe it was anger; shame? Hannie shrugged it off and continued to stare off Kisa, trying to pose with a threatening stance, feigning an intimidating look.
"Don't try to play tough," Kisa scoffed. "It ain't cute."

Hannie narrowed her eyes. "No questions, then?"
Kisa only smirked. To be honest, it wasn't her body that the alcohol was trashing; why would she have to be so worried? Sure, ELiTE was supposed to be a tight group of sisterly girls bonding together, but some groups had their boundaries. And this was one of them. Kisa sighed, crossing her arms cooly across her chest before leaning against the door of the closet beside her. "Only one," she remarked, smiling warmly.
Hannie blinked, taken aback by the unexpected reaction. "What is it, then?" she barked, still shielding her vulnerability behind a facade of masculinity.

"What do you think your doing... drinking without your unnie?" Kisa smiled. She walked over, ruffling Hannie's hair before slipping out of the room entirely. "If you're feeling upset and really need a chug, don't down all that alone, Hannie; it's unsafe and uncool. Don't save all the fun for yourself."
Hannie stared after Kisa, blinking curiously after the older, watching her saunter casually down the hall. "Huh," Hannie breathed, tossing her damp towel into her hamper. "Weird girl."

But still pretty damn amazing.

Haebyeol, ignoring the soft snores emitting from Ava's lips, continued to lounge casually on her bed, her laptop resting comfortably on her thigh. She scrolled past her Facebook page, her Twitter, and soon her Tumblr, unable to find anything entertaining to keep her increasing boredom satisfied. She rested in the dark, the only source of light coming from the night light in the corner of the room and from her illuminating laptop screen coming to life as she twirled her mouse around.

She pouted her lips, her eyes falling upon the clock.

12:00 AM.

"Aish.. Byeollie, why are you still awake?" she mumbled to herself, continuing to shuffle through the forum pages of her fan cafe. In fact, she knew exactly why. She had to keep herself awake; she couldn't fall asleep just yet. She had promised that she would stay away to wait, and she was a girl of her word -- one to never break her promises. "Ah," she hummed to herself humorously, "because you told him you wouldn't sleep till he called." Her voice fell into a hushed whisper. Solemnity masked her clouded vision as she continued to scroll through the mindless comments left by various fans. She anticpiated her phone to ring; as much as she waited, she knew the reason as to why she was still awake, but she still questioned herself: "Why do I even bother?"

They were friends.

Best friends, precisely, but why go through so much trouble just to wait for a phone call? It wasn't like he couldn't call any other time, right? No, that was exactly right. It was because he really didn't have the time to call her during the regular hours of their days. He was too busy, just as she was; and for the sake of their close relationship - as best friends, mind you - they had to go through the trouble of enduring late nights just to make sure that their standing in the relationship was still on the same page -- as best friends.

She skimmed the pages of the site she was on, not even paying attention.

And as if on cue, the slight tune rung through her ears, so soft, so melodious. Customized, the ringtone was; personalized just for him, set just for him, and instructed for her to keep it set like that just by him. Haebyeol smiled, eyeing the Caller ID with much vigor. Flipping open the device, she pressed the phone to her ears, and instantaneously, her eardrum was met with a soft hum. A familiar tune being hummed by his perfect lips; the soft voice emitting his throat as he continued to sing to her softly, gently, as if she would break if he were to increase his volume anymore.

And then, she imagined his face. Doe-like eyes, baby fat hanging on his porcelain-glazed cheeks; bronze-coloured hair sweeping over his lashes with matching-coloured eyebrows to go with it. "Good evening, Byeollie!" He finally greeted her, ending his lulling song abruptly. His voice on the other end chirped happily, despite the ungodly hour. He heaved, pants escaping his plump lips; he just finished practice, she assumed. The smile never left her face -- in fact, it only broadened at the sound of his voice resuming his sweet lullaby. "Yobosaeyo? You still there? Yah, Byeollie, some friend you are, falling asleep on me! You there?!"

"Ne," she smiled, giggling softly into the palm of her hand, "I'm still here, Lu Han oppa."
