She said and was about to continue to talk when Taemin’s dad talked.

 

“But that’s not it is it?”

 

Taemin looked at his dad.

 

“How did you know?”

 

Taemin’s dad gave him a small smile.

 

“I know…I know.”

 

Taemin didn’t know what that meant so he didn’t say anything.

 

“I was like you once. Unsure.”

 

Taemin and Saemin looked at each other confused and then looked back at Taemin’s dad, Saemin’s husband.

 

“I think you’re problem right now, is that you’re unsure whether or not Minho is the right person for you. No, that isn’t it. You’re not sure if you love Minho as a friend or more than a friend. Is that it?”

 

Taemin’s dad asked him.

 

Taemin nodded and his dad smiled.

 

“Then let me ask you some questions.”

 

Saemin sat back down next to Taemin and waited to hear more.

 

“When he talks, do you blush and your heart starts going crazy?”

 

Taemin recalled the time when Minho talked to him in such a low voice outside the club and he blushes.

 

Really badly.

 

“I take that as a yes then.”

 

Taemin began to protest but was stopped by the expression on his dad’s face.

 

“Yes…”

 

He said quietly.

 

“When you’re with him, to you feel safe?”

 

Taemin nodded, not so hesitant this time.

 

“When you see him with other girls, are you jealous?”

 

Taemin didn’t even need to think about this one.

 

“YES!”

 

He nearly screamed.

 

Taemin’s father looked at Taemin.

 

“That’s it.”

 

“What’s it?”

 

Taemin asked confused.

 

“You love Choi Minho.”

 

“What?! No I-“

 

“Taemin, don’t lie. Don’t forget what I did as a living honey.”

 

Saemin suddenly said, putting a hand on each of Taemin’s shoulders and causing him to blush.

 

“Fine…I do love him…”

 

Taemin saw Saemin and his dad exchange knowing glances.

 

Taemin stood up and turned to face his parents.

 

Saemin and Taemin’s dad looked at him.

 

“And you’re okay with it?!”

 

Taemin said incredulously.

 

“Okay with what?”

 

Taemin’s dad said, still sitting on the couch looking up at Taemin.

 

“You’re okay with your son going out with a boy?!”

 

Taemin’s dad and Saemin looked at each other and then laughed.

 

“What?!”

 

Taemin said looking at his parents annoyed.

 

Taemin’s dad stood up and put his hands on Taemin’s shoulders and then dropped his head down to look at Taemin in the eye.

 

“Yes. I’m okay with it. As long as you’re happy, so am I.”

 

Taemin stared at his father, not quite believing what he was hearing.

 

“But isn’t most parents supposed to be worried when their son or daughter is having a relationship with…with…”

 

“With the same ?”

 

Saemin said, standing up from the couch and walked towards Taemin and his dad.

 

“Yeah! I mean…you guys should be worried right?”

 

Taemin looked at his father and his mother again.

 

“You’re…not worried…are you?”

 

Taemin said after awhile.

 

Taemin’s dad stood up to his full height and looked down at Taemin.

 

“No.”

 

“Why not?!”

 

Taemin asked again.

 

“Because, I was like you once.”
