Key rubbed his wrists and walked down the street.

He was a few blocks away from school but suddenly, he didn’t want to go meet up with Onew.

The dance was tomorrow and Key didn’t know if he should ask Onew or he should wait for Onew to ask him.

Key sighed and he kicked a pebble away.

He didn’t like the position he was in at the moment.

He didn’t want to make Onew ask him.

He wanted Onew to make the right decision.

The decision was his.

The ball was in his court and he could choose who the throw it to.

Key walked absentmindedly and suddenly realized that he was standing in front of his school.

He sighed.

He didn’t want to turn back now.

He began to walk into the school campus but then was stopped by a voice.

“Key. Where did you go?”

Key froze.

He didn’t know if he could lie to Onew again.

But he had to.

He had made a vowel that he wouldn’t tell Onew about Sae Young and his agreement.

He turned around, forcing a smile on his face.

“I was with Kyu-“

Kyuhyun stepped out from behind Onew.

Key stopped talking.

Onew folded his arms and walked towards Key.

“You lied Key. You’ve never lied to me before.”

Key gulped and he looked down.

“Where did you go Key.”

It wasn’t a question.

It was more of a statement.

Key didn’t know what to say.

He heard Onew sigh.

“I can never force you to say anything you don’t want to so I’m not going to try. But I hope you never lie to me again okay? Let’s go to class now.”

Onew walked past Key.

Key was about to cry.

He didn’t want to lie to Onew either, but he had to.

Kyuhyun walked up to Key and said,

“Key. Tell me why you lied to Onew.”

Key didn’t say anything.

“Key. You have to tell me. I can help you.”

Key still didn’t say anything.

“Key.”

“She made a bet with me.” Key said quietly.

“What?”

Key looked up at Kyuhyun.

“The girl that likes Onew hyung. She made a bet with me.”

Kyuhyun stared at Key.

“What bet?”

Key didn’t say anything again.

“Key…”

“A bet on who Onew would chose to be his partner in the dance tomorrow night.”

Kyuhyun didn’t reply to that so the two of them just stood there.

“And?”

Key smiled.

Kyuhyun hyung was clever too.

“If I lose…I have to leave Onew hyung.”

Key looked at Kyuhyun.

He didn’t look too surprised.

“How come you’re not surprised?”

Kyuhyun laughed.

“The girl was Sae Young right? And she only made a contract with her winning and you losing? And she told you that she wouldn’t lose?”

Key stared at Kyuhyun.

“How did you know?” Key asked after awhile.

Kyuhyun sighed and he put both hands on Key’s shoulder and said,

“Don’ let her win okay? She’s going to hurt Onew.”

Key didn’t say anything.

“Key?”

Key snapped out of his thoughts.

Kyuhyun let go of Key and began to walk past him.

Key hurriedly turned around to follow him.

“Maybe it’s time I told you me story.”

Key looked at Kyuhyun.

Kyuhyun smiled sadly to himself and his walking pace slowed down.

“Two years ago, when I was in middle school still, I went to a co-ed school, and I really liked another guy. More than a friend at least.”

Key stared at Kyuhyun.

Kyuhyun felt Key look at him.

“You’re not the only one that’s allowed to love another guy.”

Key still didn’t say anything.

“Anyways, that time, Sae Young liked the same guy I did. So, one day I got a call from her and she told me that she wanted to have a chat with me.”

Key knew this situation well.

“She ended up tying me up.”

Key shuddered.

“And she made that agreement with me. I lost. In the end, I transferred out of that middle school and into this school seeing as this is a boy’s school so there will be no large interactions with girls. I really like private schools better.”

Key didn’t say anything.

They were nearly at the school building.

Before they were entering it, Kyuhyun turned around to face Key.

“I’m going to make sure you win. I’ll help you.”

Key looked at Kyuhyun.

He smiled and replied,

“Komawo hyung.”

Kyuhyun smiled.

“I just don’t want to see you and Onew apart. I mean, it really sure to see Ryeowook-“

Kyuhyun covered up his mouth.

Key laughed.

“So you like Ryeowook hyung huh?”

Kyuhyun blushed.

Key just laughed again.

As they walked into the building, the lunch bell rang and people began to swarm out of classrooms like bees.

As Key and Kyuhyun pushed their way through the large crowds in the narrow hallway, Key thought to himself,
