Suzy shook her head multiple times, trying to make the once unimportant scene get out of her head.

“I guess I hate tulips now.”

She looked reluctantly at the bin with the bouquet of tulips. Sighing, she walked back, looked around making sure there was no sign of people, and grabbed it back out quickly.

“It won’t hurt, will it?”

She quickly ripped off the tag with Myungsoo’s name and threw that away instead.

Myungsoo couldn’t cry anymore – he had cried so much, he felt empty of tears. If that won’t work, what will? His hand clutched the name tag tightly, as if his life depended on it. He had even made sure it was in perfect calligraphy; it was what she liked, rather than his normal printing font. He thought calligraphy was a pain.

Myungsoo.

Oh how long it took just to write his name. It took a lot of cutting out of extra cardboard, hole-punching and stringing to get it perfect. It was placed near the highest tulip, just to make it noticeable – to let Suzy know it was from him.

The flowers weren’t too hard to find, too be well and perfectly honest. Where can’t you find a bunch of tulips? It was getting into the closed shops that caused him trouble. He was in such a rush to get them; he couldn’t wait for the next day.

“Wait!”

The shop attendant looked at Myungsoo, half asleep. His expression didn’t show any surprise, however.

“Can I just quickly, buy a bouquet?”

“Charging you a dollar a minute.”

“What?!”

“1…2”

Fine. It’s worth it.

He quickly rushed through the store doors, and looked around frantically. Then he could see in the corner of his eyes, the ‘tulip corner’.

“So much?”

“Pay up already. I’m already asleep.”

Myungsoo slapped a few bills into the attendant’s hand grudgingly and walked out of the store scowling. But after seeing the few tulips in his hands, he couldn’t help but smile.

But now, it was of no use. Her actions showed that she had accepted the tulips, but not him. That was what pained Myungsoo the most.

“I really miss you, Suzy.”

Suzy fixed her dress, making sure she looked alright for the coming occasion. She applied her makeup carefully, and looked at the mirror one last time before stepping out of the house. Only then did she realize she had one thing that was important for the coming event – a date.

“ ! How could I forget?”

It was almost like she had forgotten that she had broken up with Myungsoo, even though it seemed so long ago. She wasn’t used to having no Myungsoo next to her. It was almost like…she missed him. But she denied her suspicions of herself.

“I really need to get together with someone.”

She went back inside her house, taking her phone out her bag to call Fei.

“Sorry. Can’t come. Something came up.”

She heard a snigger on the other side.

“Come on, Suzy-ah. I know you. You need a date, right?”

“Oh um…yeah…”

“Told you so. I know you so well, eh?”

“Yes unnie.”

Suzy laughed, trying to hide the nervousness in her voice.

“I’ll set you up with someone, ok? A good friend of mine.”

“Ok…sure.”

“He’ll be at your place in 5!”

Suzy dropped her phone from her ear, slightly suspicious. 5 minutes? Isn’t that a bit…fast? It was like Fei had expected this, but why hadn’t she spoken to her about setting her up earlier?

Fei’s prediction of time was correct. Suzy heard the ring of her doorbell and approached slowly, as if there was someone dangerous on the other side. She opened the door hesitantly, and then relaxed on seeing a handsome person look at her. He bowed on seeing her.

“Hello. I’m Shin Wonho, a friend of Fei. I hope we can be friends too.”

Suzy smiled back, seeing a cheery person in front of her; something she hadn’t seen in a while. Jia was always suspicious on Woohyun cheating on her, Min was just quiet and Fei seemed like a sadist nowadays, although she acted differently on the phone.

“I’m Suzy.”

“I know. Let’s go, shall we?”

He held out his arm and Suzy grabbed it shyly.

She slid into his car, taking in the features.

“Wow. Cool car.”

“Thanks.”

He then smiled at her again, this time reaching his eyes. Suzy couldn’t help but fawn over his cute face, but somehow he oddly resembled someone, and it had a good effect on her.

Because I Look Like Her Bias
