“Nakikinig ka ba Winter? Kanina ka pa sa phone mo ah?”

“Ay, sorry Ning. Ano yun?”

“Bukas, may meeting tayo with the investors para sa updates ng mga activity natin for the past 3 months. Makakapagpresent ka ba?”

“Ah nakita ko na ‘yung presentation mo, andun naman na lahat” sagot ko

“Okay” ang gloomy ng aura ni Ning, parang may mali.

“Okay ka lang?” tanong ko

“Oo, okay lang naman” 

“Sure ka?”

“Yes”

Sa totoo lang gusto ko pa kausapin si Ning sa problema niya kaso naghihintay sa akin si Rina sa condo. May surprise daw siya sa akin, gusto ko na umuwi pero sige kakamustahin ko ng last si Ning. Kapag hindi pa din nagsabi, bukas ko na lang ulit kukulitin.

“Ning, sure kang ayos ka ah? Kapag may gusto ka pag-usapan andito ako ah?“

“Yes, but not now Winter. Pero thank you” 

“Okay buddy, una na ako. Tawag ka lang pag may need ka”

“Yep” pumunta na siya sa office niya after kong nagpaalam.

Sinilip ko ulit ‘yung message ni Rina na hindi ko halos mapigilan ngumiti.

Kahit mirror selfie lang na nakarobe siya ‘yung picture, alam kong y ‘yung nasa loob nung robe. Grabe tease talaga yung baby ko na ‘yun kagigil.

Nagpaalam ako sa mga nakasalubong ko papuntang parking. Ilang beses sinabi sa akin ni Rina na sabihin ko na daw kila Ning, pero parang hindi pa time. Naiintindihan naman daw niya, kaya bahala daw. Ayaw ko pa kasi talaga sabihin sa kanila.

Alam kong marupok ako pero kasi ayaw ko ibigay sa kanila yung satisfaction na ‘I told you so, marupok ka’, ilang buwan din ako nagmatigas na hindi ko babalikan si Rina pero eto ako, kinain ang mga pinagsasabi ko.

Well, worth it naman kaya okay lang. 

Nasa driver’s seat na ako nang makareceive ulit ako ng chat kay Rina.

Nakakakilig tangina, may pa-iloveyou pa. Sa totoo lang, iba yung kislap ngayon kesa sa dati. Grabe kasi yung maturity ngayon ni Rina, it’s a good thing actually kasi it’s nice to see her like this.

I can’t explain yung blissful moments ko with her pero it’s so beautiful. Worth it ‘yung 3 years kong pangungulila sa kanya, talagang bumabawi siya.

Maingat akong nagdrive bago ako nakarating sa condo. Nakangiti akong bumaba ng kotse at nilock ito. Excited ulit ako umuwi sa baby ko kahit araw araw naman ako nauwi sa kanya.

Karina

I’m very excited sa paguwi ni Winter. Sinadya ako na umuwi earlier than her to surprise her sa bago kong bili na lingerie.

I texted her to be careful before ko ulit chineck ang sarili ko sa mirror. I really hope Winter will like my outfit.

I plan to open the door for her habang nakababa sa shoulders ko ‘yung robe. She’ll only see my collarbones and cleavage while my red lingerie is peeking.

Minutes later when our doorbell rang, I specifically told Winter to rang the doorbell and ‘wag ipunch yung doorcode. I said it’s part of the surprise.

So I adjusted my robe before openning the door.

“So bab- Giselle?? What are you doing here?” I immediately pull the robe to completely cover me.

“Wow, what a nice way to greet a guest I must say. Are you expecting someone?” she commented.

“Uhm, yeah pero come in” I let her in kasi baka makasalubong niya si Winter sa labas.

While Giselle is making her way sa condo, I saw Winter from the corridor, walking while hopping. When she saw me, she immediately gave me her widest smile but I signaled her to go away while I’m pointing my finger at Giselle.

She comically made her way sa elevator making me chuckled. Oh God, she’s so cute hopping like that. It’s a shame na may emergency right now. I also signaled her na I’ll call her na lang.

“W-what’s up Giselle? Is everything okay?”

I think she just ignored my weird behavior kanina sa door then I heard her sighed.

“I messed up Karina” 

“What? Why?”

“I-I” she suddenly choked back from her tears kaya naalarm ako

“Hey, hey. What’s wrong?”

“I-I’m thinking of breaking up with Ning”

“What??! Are you insane?”

“I think I am”

“Can you please tell me the reason kung bakit mo naiisip yan?“

“I’m planning to move sa US, I want my career na ituloy sa US. And when I told Ning about it she’s being an na okay naman daw career ko here”

“Tama naman si Ning diba?”

“Yes, but it feels like naging okay ang career ko kasi I’m working for you”

“You’re doing a great job naman Giselle”

“Yes, I know. But naiingit ako sa mga Ate ko, they have their own businesses. How about me? Every reunion, laging pinapamukha sa akin ng mga relatives namin bakit di daw ako kagaya ng mga Ate ko. It’s frustrating but at the same time, may point sila. I know I shouldn’t let them get into my mind but there’s a part of me na I wanted to start my own business. Just like Ning and my Ates.”

“We can be business partner Giselle”

“Easy way for me? I want my own hardwork Karina”

“Can’t you start your business here?”

“Career sa US vs. career sa Pinas, ano mas gusto mo for your company?”

“But, how about Ning? Don’t make the same mistake I did Giselle. You’ll regret big time”

“I know, mahirap pumili sa part ko. If only Ning can support me on this”

“She just can’t give up her company here Giselle don’t you you think?”
