"Director Luo..."

He was facing the window of his building. He raised his hand to signal the investigator to start his report. "Ms. Sylvia Wen arrived here two weeks ago. She is currently the General Manager of Qingxin Incorporated, a position she was promoted to after years of running their Japan branch." The investigator said.

Wes furrowed his brows. "Japan?" He asked. "Yes, sir. She had been working there eversince she transferred to Japan. She also graduated at Kaio University under Qingxin's scholarship." The investigator stated. "When did she move to Japan?" Wes asked the investigator. "Seven years ago." the investigator said. Wes closed his eyes as he took a deep breath. "Seven years ago, when she left me..." he thought. 

"Please leave the report on my table. Thank you for your help. I'll send the payment to your account." he told the investigator. As soon as the investigator left, he turned around to face his table. On his table was the report from the investigator. As he opened it, he saw Sylvia's picture on the first page. His fingers ran through it as he gazed at it. "Sylvia... why did you leave me?" he thought.

The moment her alarm sounded, Sunnee immediately sat up from her bed. "Uh oh, I'm late!" she said. She got out of the bed and called for her brother. "Ge! I'm gonna be late!" she shouted. Meanwhile, Aaron couldn't help but laugh. "I knew this is going to happen..." he tought. Sunnee was rushing down the stairs, and Aaron tried to keep a straight face. 

"Aiyo, why didn't you wake me up. Now, I'm gonna be late for work!" she scolded him. "Do you even know what day is it today?" Aaron asked. Sunnee was thinking hard, when she realized it was a Sunday and she doesn't have work. Her realization was shown in her face, and Aaron couldn't help but burst out laughing at her reaction. "Why did my alarm went on?" she asked. "Also, how about you check your forehead?" Aaron said. 

Sunnee felt a post it note stuck on her forehead. She took it, and saw a note written on it. 

"Next time you want to get drunk, call me.

-baby boy"

Her eyes widened upon reading that. "Kai.. that jerk!" she shouted. Then, she glared at her brother. "You're his accomplice in pranking me!" she accused him. Aaron couldn't help but laugh loudly. "Who said you can drink till you pass out? Good thing Kai saw you and took you home." Aaron told her. Sunnee was surprised at what he said. "Kai... saw me? And took me home?" she asked. Aaron nodded his head. "Why do you have to drink? Any problems?" he asked. He knew her sister well. She doesn't go on a drinking spress unless she's broken hearted. 

Sunnee sighed as she sat. "Dylan's got a girlfriend..." she told him. "And it's not you?" Aaron asked. Sunnee nodded her head. "It's Ah Meng..." she said. Aaron was surprised at what she said. "Ah Meng? Your best friend in high school?" Aaron asked. Sunnee nodded her head. "Well, tell Ah Meng not to drag you into a drinking spree!" he scolded her. 

"Ah Meng and Xiao Xiong are now a couple..." she announced sadly. Aaron was surprised. He stood still in his place, just staring at his sister. "How could... she's a snake!" Aaron said. "Ge, she didn't even know I'm carrying a torch for him."

"But why would she take away the guy you like?"

"She didn't know..."

"Why didn't you let her know?"

"Because Xiao Xiong liked her for a long time..."

Aaron felt bad for his sister. He wonders why she always had to sacrifice her heart for other people, especially to her best friend. Yu Meng had everything she wanted, while Sunnee had to work hard for eveything she wants. She didn't have to lift a finger to have everything, while his sister, even if she tries her best, it's no guarantee that she'll have what she's working hard for. 

Aaron let out a sigh. "Seeing this is the situation, do you think it would be more awkward to work in that place?" he asked. Sunnee let out a smile and shook her head. "I still have a contract with them. And I can't be emotional at work. I guess for now, all I can do is keep my distance and be happy for the two of them." Sunnee said. "Then, guard your heart, Sunnee. Don't let them break your heart. I know this would be hard for you, but don't let them hurt you." Aaron adviced her. Sunnee let out a faint smile. "I know, Ge... thank you for reminding me that." she said.

Sunnee had a ton of work that Monday morning. She was glued to her screen, but she noticed a hand placed a cup of coffee on her desk. She let out a smile. "Chief?" she called. She looked up, and the smile on her face slowly faded. It wasn't Dylan, but Wes. "Good morning, my sweet little pineapple!" Wes said with a smile. "Oh, good morning Director Luo. Chief isn't in yet, I guess." she said. She continued with her work, ignoring him. "I'm not here for Chief. I'm here for you." Wes said. With that, Sunnee paused and looked at him. "You were looking for me? Why?" she asked. "I want to ask you out for a date." Wes said. 

The moment Wes said that, Dylan and Evan entered the office. Dylan heard what his cousin said. Upon hearing that Wes is asking Sunnee out on a date, he felt angry and jealous. "Director Luo, are you annoying my employee again?" he asked as he walked towards them. Wes looked at him, and let out a smirk. "I'm just here to bring her coffee..." he said. Then, he looked at Dylan's hand, and he was carring two coffee. "Oh, Chief... I didn't know you love coffee so much." Wes commented. 

Dylan ignored him, and placed a coffee on Sunnee's desk. "Coffee for you, Sunnee." he said. Sunnee then took the coffee Wes gave her. "I... already have this coffee." she said. Then, she drank it. Dylan felt  little hurt when she chose the coffee Wes gave her. "Oh... but I'll just leave it here in case you need more coffee." Dylan said. Sunnee just nodded her head. 

Then, he turned to face Wes, who had a grin on his face. "Why don't you go back to work, Director Luo?" Dylan said in a serious tone. "Not until my sweet little pineapple gives me an answer." Wes said. Dylan furrowed his brow at him. "I don't care what you were asking her, but you are being a distraction and disruption in this office." Dylan said. "Well then..." Wes said. Then, he turned to Sunnee. "I'll see you later, sweet little  pineapple." he told her. Then, he walked away from them. 

Dylan clenched his fist as the watched him leave. "How dare you, Wes... Sunnee is MY little pineapple..." he thought. He looked around, and noticed everyone was looking at their direction. "Everyone, back to work!" he shouted angrily at them. Sunnee was stunned at what he did. "What's wrong with him?" she thought.

"Let me get this thing straight..." 

Sylvia said as he paced back in front of Kai. "You came back because you had a feeling something's wrong with Sunnee?!" she continued. She could not believe her friend and her boss to just cancel important meetings in the overseas. "What can I do? I'm worried about her..." Kai explained. "Kai..."

"Xiao Fei... you know how close Sunnee and I. I know when something's wrong or not. I just felt it this time...."

"But, to cancel your meetings abroad?"

"I did not. I have my representative."

"I do hope it's not me, Kai."

"Actually I was thinking..."

Sylvia glared at him. She knew Kai would send her away again, but she can't go now that she was still settling back home. "I'll send Derek instead." Kai said. With that, Sylvia smiled. "Good..." she said. Then, she took her seat. "But honestly, This isn't the first time that this happened to you... you know... having an instinct something bad is going to happen to Sunnee..." Sylvia said. Kai knew what she was pertaining to. 

"The first time is not an instinct. It just so happens that I caught that bastard Chun Lin goingin inside the hotel with that Yu Meng." Kai explained. "Easy, Kai. Remember, Yu Meng is still Sunnnee's best friend, and she treats her with high regards..."

"Which is what I don't understand..."

"Do you want to tell her her very first boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend?"

Kai fell silent. "Well, I trust your instinct this time. But please, if you have such instinct in the future, don't cancel client meetings scheduled abroad. Our investors might pull out if you keep doing that." Sylvia adviced him. Kai nodded his head. "How about you? Are you OK?" Kai asked. Sylvia smiled at him. "I'm always OK..." she said. "You didn't happen to chance upon... that person which must not be named, right?" Kai asked. 

Sylvia looked away from him. "I'm... I'm trying to stay away as much as possible to him. Who knows, maybe our paths won't cross again. Now that I'm settled here, I really hope I won't meet him again." she said. She looked at him, and forced a smile. But she knew what she said was a lie. Because deep in her heart, she wished he could see him again.

Sunnee was walking through the office hall, when she saw Wes walking towards her direction. "Oh, great! It's him again..." she muttered as she rolled her eyes. "Hello, my sweet little pineapple!" Wes greeted her with a smile. "Oh, please. Stop calling me that." Sunnee said in an annoyed tone. "Why? Because only Chief can call you that?" Wes asked. 

She chose to ignore him, and went past him. "Oh, I do hope Fluffy Bear could still treat Little Pineapple the same way, even if he already got his dream girl..." Wes said. With that, Sunnee paused. It's enough that she's hurting, does he really have to add insult to her injury? "But, from what I can see... he's ignoring you..." he said. "Doesn't matter if he ignores me..." she said.

Wes folded his arms as he smirked. "Are you saying that to convince me, or to convince yourself?" he asked. Sunnee looked back at him. Then, he cornered her by the wall. "What the fu-"

Before she could cuss, he silenced her by putting a finger on her lips. "Look, I am better than him. I can make you a lot happier than him. Now, if you will just be willing..." Wes said. 

Sunnee put his hand away from him. "I don't know what the hell you're talking about..." she said. Wes gave her a mocking look. "You don't know? Ah, let's see... I remember the sad look on your face when we met at the convenience store. Based on my intel, that afternoon, you went with Dylan to plan a photoshoot and proposal to Yu Meng. Then, at the launching event. You may seem busy, but each time you look at him and Yu Meng, you look like you want to cry. And not accepting his coffee today? Seems so fishy to me..." Wes said, scratching his chin. 

"You're just overthinking things..." Sunnee said. "Tell me, Sunnee... why did you work here when you have already established your own studio? You can earn more by doing freelance work, than staying for The Digital Bear. I wonder if it has something to do with... Xiao Xiong?" Wes said. Sunnee looked mortified when he said that. "You want to reconnect with a childhood friend, right? And that childhood friend is Dylan..." Wes continued. 

Sunnee was just silent. "I guess, I will have to tell Dylan about your little crush about him. And about his old childhood friend." Wes said. He let her go, and was about to go back to the office, but she stopped him. "Don't... please..." she pleaded. Wes looked back at him. "You don't want him to know?" Wes asked. "Don't tell him what you know..." Sunnee said. Wes let out a smirk. Wes finally succeeded in getting her attention. 

"About you, having a crush on him? And that you are Xing Xing?" Wes asked. "He's happy now. If... if he found out I have feelings for him, it might make things complicated. And... And about his old memory... as much as I want him to remember me, if it will make things complicated for him too, then I don't want it." Sunnee said. 

Wes pushed her by the wall again. "Well... so you're answer. Will you date me, or not?" Wes asked. "Is that my only option for you to be silent?" Sunnee asked. Wes nodded his head. "Not just a date, Sunnee. Be my girlfriend." he said. "Do... do I have any other choice? Can I call a friend?" she asked. Wes shook his head. She let out a sigh of resignation. "As long... as long as you keep this... and that you won't bother Chief, then, I guess...I accept?" Sunnee said. 

Wes let out another smirk. "How about we seal it with a kiss?" he asked. Sunnee was dumbfounded by what he said. 

Meanwhile, Dylan saw Sunnee and Wes together. He knew is cousin was up to nothing again. Furious with him, he clenched his fist, and walked towards them. He was ready to fight his cousing for harassing Sunnee. But the, he saw Wes leaned on to Sunnee, It looks like he kissed her. He doesn't know why, but he felt like someone dropped his heart upon seeing that. 

Wes leaned to her, his thumb touching Sunnee's lower lip. "What are you -" Sunnee hushed. "Ssshhh... Chief is her. Make him think we're kissing, OK?" Wes said. "But..." Sunnee protested. "One more word, and I'll kiss you for real." Wes whispered to her. 

"Wes Luo! What are you doing?!" Dylan shouted at him. He marched towards them. Wes straightened up, and then pulled Sunnee into an embrace. "Oh, Chief... I'm sorry you have to see us this way. Sunnee just accepted my confession." Wes said. Dylan furrowed his brow in confusion. "What do you mean?" he asked. Wes smiled at him, whil Sunnee was just looking at Wes, not knowing what to do. "Sunnee is now my girlfriend." Wes said proudly. 

And at that moment, Dylan felt the heart he dropped was broken into a million pieces.
