A hello and goodbye are a very common thing that happens in life. But for Jihye, no matter how many times she says it, she can’t ever get accustomed to it. She becomes more afraid to say hello because she knows there will be a goodbye at the end of every hello she says. 

Maybe this will be the hardest goodbye in her life. 

“Sweetie, do you need any help?” Her mom calls out from outside her room. Jihye quickly wipes the forming tears in her eyes and clears . “No mother. Thank you for asking.” She answers. “Okay then sweetie.” 

Jihye smiles bitterly to herself. Ever since she decides to yield and follow her parents' wishes, they become the parents she always dreams of. Her father smiles more and praises her more. Her mother becomes more loving to her. Basically they just finally treat her like her brother; with love and pride. It makes her think, should she just act like an obedient daughter from the start? It will be easier to just live as a marionette doll. All she needs to do is kill her emotion and feeling and just let her parents do whatever they want to her. 

It will be much easier.

A tired sigh escapes her lips. Her eyes feel so sore after crying a lot these past few days. She has been turning off her phone since Sehun and Yoongi stopped by last week. Jihye just doesn’t want to talk to anyone. She deactivates all her social media accounts so she doesn’t need to see any updates from her friends. All in all, she is just withdrawing herself slowly from the world. 

It’s been so mentally exhausting for her. Who won’t be? All her life, she’s been living like a stranger in her own family. When she tries to escape and find her own self and place, she is forced to return to the cell who held her for years. Just like a bird who finally gets a chance to fly out from her cage only to realize that her wings have been broken a long time ago.

Jihye wipes the lone tear that escapes her eyes. She closes her eyes and takes a very deep breath and lets it out slowly; trying to calm herself down. Suddenly, Baekhyun's smiling face flashes in her mind. She gasps in surprise and immediately opens her eyes. “Jihye, please stop it.” 

A sob escapes her lips and soon the damn breaks once again. Jihye buries her face in her pillow; hoping it will muffle her loud cry. She misses him. She just terribly misses him. She knows that Baekhyun has been trying to reach her; it’s one of the reasons why she shuts her phone down. She hates herself so much for being so selfish and leaves him alone. It’s not his fault for being used by his company. Jihye knows how Baekhyun is willing to fight for them but she backs down like a coward.

She is just so afraid that she absorbs so much of his light and ends up leaving him
