Hwang Yeji never liked books. She never liked reading anything, she didn't see the point of studying. She was a star player in football and she knew she'd get a full scholarship with no problem as long as she keeps up her performance. Every time she played, her team would always win and it was all thanks to Yeji herself for scoring goals effortlessly. Everything was going just the way she expected it to, she had great friends who stood by her side and loving parents who supports her. And most importantly, football has been going great. Their school just won again against their rival, keeping their title as champions.

But everything went downhill when Yeji suffered a knee injury, her doctor advised her to stop playing sports as it could worsen her condition. With no other choice, Yeji gave up football. A sport she was supposed to pursue and succeed in. 

Yeji was devastated, it was the one thing she was incredible at. The one thing that she was actually confident in but now everything was gone. She couldn't play anymore and didn't have the motivation to do anything else. But she needed to at least graduate high school with a good grade. 

After months of dwelling in her sorrow, Yeji picks herself up and starts catching up on her studies. Since then, Yeji starts to go to the school's library after school to read more. After all, she hasn't been listening in class at all when she was busy with football.

Yeji walked into the library with her backpack hanging from her left shoulder. She looks around the area, it looked empty. Almost no one but the librarian on duty was there, Yeji finally spots another person who was sitting in the corner, queitly reading a book. 

The sun that shone from the window next to the girl made her look like she was on the cover of a movie. She looked ethereal and beautiful, Yeji was intrigued. Yeji slowly walks towards the girl, pretending to be browsing through the shelves of books. She picks out a random book without even looking and stood in front of thr gorgeous girl who was reading a book. 

"Is this seat taken?" Yeji queitly asks, she didn't want to catch the librarian's attention. 

The girl slowly raises her head to look up, Yeji's breath was taken away when she got a good look of the girl. She was stunning,

The girl smiles which left Yeji slightly flustered. 

"No, you can sit." The girl politely said and continued reading her book. Yeji awkwardly says a thanks before taking a seat. 

Yeji places her book on the table and finally takes a look at the title of it, 'Knitting with Dog Hair' Yeji furrows her brows, who the hell would want to knit dog hair? The girl who sat opposite Yeji chuckles,

"You like knitting?" She asks with her lips curved in a sweet smile, a smile that was able to leave a huge impression on Yeji.

"Oh um... Yeah! Yes I do." Yeji was embarassed, her cheeks were burning hot. She knew nothing about knitting yet here she was, lying to the pretty girl she met in a library that she liked knitting.

The girl chuckles again, Yeji found herself smiling. The girl's happiness was contagious, Yeji couldn't help but smile.

"But dog hair?" The girl asks, genuinely curious about it. 

"I uh. I-I just love the feel of it...?" The girl couldn't help but burst out laughing, Yeji looked adorable with her cheeks painted with pink and her stuttering while trying to think of something to explain her bizarre choice of knitting material.

The loud but contagious laughter filled the emptiness of the deserted library, Yeji chuckles with her. She was incredibly embarassed to say the least. The girl's uncontrollable laughter earned a strict warning from the librarian and she finally calmed down after that. 

"Wow. I haven't laughed that hard in ages." The girl says while wiping the stray tear on her cheek from laughing too hard. 

"I'm Lia by the way." Lia introduces herself, taking out her hand to shake Yeji's. 

"I'm Yeji." Yeji takes Lia's hand and shakes it lightly. 

In a blink of an eye, the book was long forgotten instead Yeji was busy chatting with Lia who always managed to make Yeji interested in every little thing she would talk about. Eventually Yeji asked Lia to be her tutor and Lia agreed without much hesitation.

Yeji would meet Lia everyday after school in the library. Lia would tutor her and they'd get a snack right after. It was something Yeji looked forward to, she really likes Lia. The way she talked, the way her eyes would curve into the shape of a moon everytime she smiles, how her laughter never fails to put a smile on Yeji's face. Yeji loved everything.

"Lia?" Lia hums in response, 

"Would you like to go on a date?" Yeji asks shyly but still had a bright smile that easily made Lia's heart skip a beat.

Lia pauses, letting herself think for a moment. She liked Yeji indeed but she didn't know what was holding her back. 

"Please?" Yeji puts on puppy eyes, hoping it'd convince Lia.

"Okay." Lia finally agrees and Yeji starts to throw a party inside her head.

"But only if you pass your upcoming history test." Yeji groans at the requirement, she hates history. But if it was for Lia, she'd study her off for it.

"Deal." Yeji was determined and Lia could see that, she didn't expect much from Yeji.

Lia also didn't expect Yeji running in the library with a huge smile and a paper that had a huge 'B' written in red ink on it. 

"I believe I earned a date?" Yeji proudly shows the paper to Lia and Lia couldn't believe she underestimated Hwang Yeji.

Lia chuckles, "Alright, let's have a date that you worked so hard for." Lia packs up her things and the two left the school with plans to make a day that'd be unforgettable.
