Chapter 4

UPCOMING STORM

third person point of view

"who can stay home to take care of jennie?" asked chae as she ate her ramen. jennie tried to glare at her but it ended up looking like a cute gaze from a little kid. her friends could only awe at the cuteness, except lisa of course.

"i told you i'm fine..." and right after that, jennie sneezed. "i can go to school. i have to practice for our performance.." she insisted which made jisoo and chae glare at her stubborn .

"you need to rest jen. atleast don't go to classes this day.." -jisoo stoicly said which made jennie mumble unclear words as she drop her head on their dining table.

"hey! you'll spread bacteria all over the table if you keep doing that. i'll have to sanitize it again!" -lisa scolded and jennie didn't have the energy to argue so she just remained her position. "ugh." lisa whined, completely done of the brunette's hard-headed .

"i wanted to take care of jennie but i have this contest. you know i can ditch it for you if no one's free today.." -chae said which made jisoo and jennie shake their heads in disagreement.

"you can't." -jennie said before dropping her head back down the table.

"i'll just tell my other friends that i couldn't join them on our overwatch game. you have to take that contest and jennie needs someone to take care of her now." -jisoo said, not wanting her girlfriend to sacrifice her big contest as well as leaving jennie sick inside their house. if they have to do anything just to avoid letting down each other, they'd do it even tho it would affect the really much.

right now, jennie's sufferinng from an irritatingly painful headache and she couldn't even lift her head up to face her friends and could only groan at how her friends are being stupid choosing her over the stuffs they should be doing for themselves. she isn't complaining about it, she's eternally grateful but she wouldn't take advantage of her friends' kindness even tho she's really in a bad situation. "guys... i told you i can take care of myself.." -jennie mumbled with a muffled voice. having flu made her cough really hard.

"look jennie, you couldn't even lift your head for pete's sake. stop being stubborn for a minute." -lisa groaned as she tossed her bag on the couch and took off her jacket.

"hey, what are you doing?" -jisoo asked as she got confused of lisa suddenly took of her stuffs when she's already ready to leave for school.

"i'll take care of her. i didn't have much to do at uni but to study the perf with jen and since she's not there, might as well skip classes and slack off." -lisa said as she sat beside jennie and shoo-ed away her other friends. chae shrugged and grabbed her girlfriend's arm. jisoo, on the other hand, looked suspiciously at lisa. she can smell something odd and she really has to know.

"you sure lis? call us if you need anything okay?" -chae said before leaving their house with the bothered raven.

lisa stared at jennie's sleeping form for a while. she had lifted her back to chae's couch and literally watched her the whole time with the television on with it's lowest volume, not wanting  to wake the ill up. as soon as jennie woke up, lisa asked if she should bring her back home and jennie told her to just bring her to lisa's apartment.

lisa didn't have a choice so she brought jennie to her apt since she still isn't familiar with jennie's mom's house. she couldn't leave her in chae's house tho because her parents will come back soon and jennie didn't want them to see her sick because they'd freak out and call her parents.

once they're in front of lisa's flat, the thai guided the brunette towards her bedroom and made her lay there. silence conquered them the whole time and no one ever dared to speak. they didn't know how to start a conversation without having a fight. lisa is guessing that jennie must've been too exhausted to bicker with her so she chose to shut up and the thai is right, it is what exactly jennie had in mind.

lisa turned down the ac and opened her heater so jennie could stay warm. she wrapped her in blankets as well cuz the weather forecast said that later in the afternoon is going to be the first fall of snow.

jennie lay comfortably on lisa's bed as she stare at the latter, she couldn't help but feel fuzzy. loads of questions where left answerless on her mind. why is lisa suddenly being nice to her? and why did she even avoid bickering with her?

"lisa.." she called out which made lisa face her. she stared at jennie for a long time, waiting for jennie to speak her mind. she couldn't think of anything to say and she couldn't muster any words so she said "t-thank you.."

lisa still had her monotone expression which made jennie feel disappointed. she thought lisa is finally acting like a real friend yet she isn't. or atleast that's what jennie thought.

"just to break it up to you, i didn't skip school to take care of you. i did it for jisoo and chae." lisa said which made jennie hurt for a bit. so lisa isn't even treating her as a friend even for a tad bit? why is she even getting hurt? she literally hates lisa.

yet she couldn't help it tho. she treated lisa as a friend, like... a tiny percent, and she also lowered her pride and acknowledged the girl yet lisa has the audacity to be mean to her. "fine. i didn't want you to take care of me anyway." -jennie mumbled on with a shaky voice and forced herself to stand up and walk away from lisa.

"where are you going?" -the thai asked which got totally ignored by jennie who's focused on balancing herself to avoid tripping. lisa had no choice but to follow her, hold her arm, and turn her around so that the both of them can look at each other. "where?"

"home." jennie answered briefly yet coldly. "i don't want you to take care of me." she scoffed which made the thai smirk.

"are you lowkey telling me to care about you?" -lisa said with her cocky little smirk which made jennie groan. it didn't help her headache as it only gotten worse. she couldn't help but lean on the back of the couch because she's getting really weak and dizzy.

"as if." -the brunette managed to scoff. lisa didn't argue with her furthermore which made jennie put up a small forced smile of victory.

"you can't go home. it will snow outside." -the thai said which made jennie look suspisiously at her.

"you want me to stay here longer because you're plotting to kill me, aren't you?" jennie speculated which made lisa's eyebrows twitch.

"i hate you but i'm not a bad person. i'm not like you." -lisa said like she knows all of jennie which made the brunette's blood boil.

"shut up."
