{Chapter 26: Are you okay?{

넌 괜찮니?

Having met you every day and talked with you,

I don’t hear your voice on my phone anymore.

Even with just one call, I’d run to you.

It’s so far away now, I can’t see you anymore.

Hani dragged her feet to and fro from the swing as she smiled looking at the sky – Cotton candy skies.

“Damn” she muttered smiling as she wiped away a tear

“Yah, uljima” her voice said as Hani chuckled

“Molla, what’s happening to me?” she laughed-cried

“it’s already been 4 months, you still miss him?” Soohee asked as Hani nodded

“At least I have you” Hani smiled as Soohee hugged her with an ‘aww’ reaction.

I guess it’s really true when they say that God only takes away things from you but gives you another thing in return so that you’ll be okay…

Here was Yang Soohee who threw a fuss until her dad agreed to let her stay with me, and here she was – building a future for both of us.

It wasn’t until she confessed that one fine June night as I sat alone in the swing as usual, staring at the skies.

“Why do you always keep looking out for me?” Hani chuckled as Soohee smiled

“That’s what best friends do right?” She smiled as Hani nodded

“I’m sorry I didn’t know the pain you were feeling back then” Soohee sighed as Hani made a face

“Not another episode of the friendship drama here okay?” Hani chuckled as Soohee laughed

“The day you left for Ulsan, Hyunjin came to me” Soohee said as Hani paused, turning to her best friend slowly

“Do me a favor” – he said blankly as Soohee turned to the rapper

“Go to Ulsan, be with Hani and take good care of her. She has no one to take care of her”

“N-neh? She’s going away?!”

“Please, I beg you” – he said getting on his knees

“H-Hwang Hyun-jin!” – Soohee ran to him, sitting down

“I will…I promise”

“Make sure you never leave her alone, constantly reassure her that we are doing fine too…”

“B-But w-why?”
“Only then she’ll be happy, even if I may not be. Tell her I’ll always wait for the day she comes back to us” – he smiled.

“You’re so lucky, they love you so much” Soohee smiled as Hani nodded

“I miss them” she muttered as Soohee nodded

"Them or him?" Soohee wiggled her brows making Hani chuckle, surrendering

“I’m proud of you…give him a call, palli palli” Soohee said as Hani turned to her

“NO WAY” she muttered clenching her phone tightly.

How many days have passed? I keep thinking only of you

Today too when I open my eyes, I am depressed since the morning

Looking at the phone in my hand

I wait for your news, just in case.

Changbin lay on his bed as he hummed a tune to their song –District 9 as Chan sat there playing with the guitar

“Hyung, banana milk or strawberry milk?” Jongin asked walking into the room as Chan made a soft face

“Hyung would prefer anyone” he smiled, making Changbin look at the leader and the maknae

“Just one, palli” Jongin said impatiently

“Banana milk” Chan smiled as Jongin nodded excitedly

“Geumawo hyung…JISUNG HYUNG YOU CAN HAVE THE STRAWBERRY MILK, BANANA MILK IS MINE!”Jongin shouted running back into the kitchen as Chan made a face

“Yah I thought that was for me!” he shouted as Changbin smirked

“Chris is hungry?” Changbin chuckled as Chan made a face when Changbin’s phone rang.

“H-Hyung” Changbin muttered as Chan looked at him

“Wae? Wae? Wae? HANI?!” he shouted as Changbin nodded as Chan stole the phone, immediately answering it

“The hell it’s Ryujin!” Chan shouted hanging up as he looked at the caller ID –

“SHIN RYUJIN JYP”

Making Changbin break into laughter as a low pitch laughter came from the top bunk bed

“FELIX WAS HERE TOO?!” Chan shouted

“AISH STOP SHOUTING! DINNER IS READY!” Minho shouted.

After dinner with the boys, Changbin walked with Hyunjin to get some stuff for a midnight “Gonjiam: Haunted asylum” movie night. You know I watched that movie and got the sore throat the next day because I screamed too much.

“Yah Hwang Hyunjin” Changbin called as Hyunjin turned to the elder

“I miss her too but I’m trying my best to get going, she’s my girlfriend and I’m pretending to be okay. You can’t make me look bad by looking like you’re suffering the most” Changbin said as Hyunjin stared at the rapper

“That, that, that. Don’t do that” Changbin said as Hyunjin chuckled

“Mianhae hyung, I know you miss her more than I do…I envy you” Hyunjin smiled as Changbin made a face.

“Go get some drinks, I’ll pick snacks here” Changbin said as Hyunjin nodded obediently.

Watching movies brought back memories as Changbin’s mind clouded with memories of Hani.

“You guys are actually suffocating me”

“Shut up” Hyunjin muttered squeezing Hani tightly as he got ready for another jump scare

“Bin-ah”

“Don’t. force. Me”

“I just hope you’re doing well and are in love with the things that make you happy” – Changbin smiled
