{Chapter 21: Hwang Hyunjin, you..!{

Hani walked away, tears streaming down her face when a tight grip pulled her back as she found herself in the embrace of a huge figure

“Cry” Hyunjin said as Hani sobbed

“Cry, I said!” Hyunjin shouted as small droplets of rain started to fall from the sky – a dark, rainy night.

“Don’t go and cry where I can’t see you. Cry when I am there, cry only where I can see you…please” Hyunjin said softly as Hani cried

“You won’t even call me noona and you’re ordering me not cry?!” Hani cried as Hyunjin sighed, hugging her tighter.

“Uljima, mian…I’m sorry” he said in his low voice.

LATER:

Hyunjin looked at Hani as he walked to her with the cup of hot chocolate

“Here” he said as Hani looked at him, warming herself in front of the heater

“Eomma and appa left for a trip to Jeju-do, so don’t worry about them coming back” Hyunjin smiled as Hani nodded, pulling the warmer closer to her as she made herself comfortable in Hyunjin’s oversized cardigan, all drenched.

“You’ll catch a fever at this rate, otthokaji?” he muttered as Hani looked at the hot chocolate

“Why’d he do that?” Hani asked as droplets of water dripped from her hair

“Drink up” Hyunjin said wiping her hair with a towel

“…I-I’m fine” she said blinking awkwardly

“No you are not. And thus, I, Hwang Hyunjin, will take care of you” Hyunjin smiled cutely as Hani sighed

“…Jin-ah” Hani called as Hyunjin hummed a song

“…I really wish you guys could all debut as 9 members” Hani smiled a bit as Hyunjin paused

“…that’s everything I’d wish for” Hani smiled as Hyunjin leaned to Hani, hugging her from the back

“…Na du” he sadly said as Hani made a sad face

“Why are our worlds so imperfect?” she asked as Hyunjin stayed still

“…If I leave Changbin, will you take good care of him?” Hani asked as Hyunjin shook his head

“Only you could do that” he muttered as Hani sighed nodding

“Of course” she sighed.

“Yah, stop sighing already” Hyunjin said sitting in front of her

“I’m sorry about what happened earlier” Hyunjin said as Hani nodded as the rapper took her hands in his

“..I don’t know why I did that either” he said guiltily as Hani nodded

“Let’s just pretend nothing ever happened then” she said nodding as Hyunjin looked at her

“Can you not cry anymore? Even when I’m around you and even when I can’t see you…can you not cry?” Hyunjin asked as Hani paused

“I don’t know…can I?” she asked blankly as Hyunjin chuckled

“Finish your chocolate” he smiled.

Could I really do it?

Leave all these kids behind?

How do you forget someone and go back to the person you were before you met them?

I can’t remember anymore.

I can’t picture a life without Changbin or Hyunjin in it, my picture will not be complete without Stray Kids or iKON or anyone.

So how do I just get up and leave and not turn back when it was everything at one point of time?

A few days later:

“You really didn’t have to drop me off” Hani chuckled as she walked with Hyunjin towards her classroom

“It’s my duty though” Hyunjin said rulffling her hair

“Fine, don’t wait for me after class today, I don’t want another episode of the kids coming one after the another asking me why I won’t talk with Changbin” Hani sighed as Hyunjin nodded

“I’ll avoid the second thing you told me, just not the first.”

“See you after class” Hyunjin said ruffling her hair as Hani made a face

“Aish this kid, you won’t even call me noona!” Hani shouted as Hyunjin waved at her playfully.

“HANI-YAHHHH” Soohee’s voice called as she came running to her and hugged her, crying

“O-Oh, Soohee-yah, waegurae?” Hani asked hugging her back.

“I’m changing school and moving abroad. I don’t want to go” Soohee called as Hani paused

“M-mwo?” she mutterd.

Everything was slowly going from bad to worse.

When I needed my best friend the most, she was leaving. When my best friend needed someone to comfort her, to tell her to leave and be okay, I was not there.

After class:

Hani and Hyunjin walked together because of a –“I won’t leave without you, you are my best friend, remember?” drama by Hyunjin

“You sure you don’t have any tricks up your sleeve for dragging me like this?” Hani sulked as Hyunjin nodded

“Trust me on this one” he said in a rather serious tone when Hani stopped and stared right in front.

“Seo Changbin” she muttered as Hyunjin stared at Changbin walking straight to his girlfriend

“Hwang Hyunjin, I need a moment alone with Hani” Changbin muttered as Hyunjin looked at Hani who nodded at him, not wanting another drama

Why did I seem like a third wheel for the kids where instead of bringing them together, I was tearing them apart?
Hyunjin and Changbin used to be so close, then what happened?

Was it really because of me?

They say YG blood and JYP blood shouldn’t mingle with each other, it only brings destruction.

So…was I really ruining them without me realizing it?

“You come with me" Changbin said dragging her away as Hyunjin clenched his fist angrily, watching the couple walk away.

“Why haven’t you been taking my calls?” Changbin asked looking down as Hani looked at his fists, tightly clenched

“Why did you not tell me it was bothering you that much?”

“…Why did I have to see you and Hyunjin liked that?” he asked, his voice already cracking as Hani felt herself tearing up.

I wanted to hug him. I wanted to tell him I just wanted him as long as he loved me and wanted me in the same way.

I was craving him for so long, no physically, just the idea of him.

What was I to do in such a situation?

Do I have to face it or run away from it?

“Why do you have to hurt me like this, oh?” Changbin asked as Hani looked at him

“C-Changbin-ah” she called as Changbin pulled her into a hug

…

“Just tell me you won’t leave” Changbin cried.

…but by now, I had already made a decision…a decision I’d regret for the rest of my life.
