Work Of Art
It’s been a week since everything has happened. I was currently at the YG Building waiting in Mr. Yang’s office. He called me and told me that he needed to talk to me about something. It’s been fifteen minutes and he’s still not here yet. I wonder what he needed to talk to me about.
“Minhee you’re here already.” I heard Mr. Yang saying. He sat down at his desk and was smilling at me.
“De.” I answered.
“Don’t be so shy around me.” He told me.
“De. Is there a reason why you called me in?” I asked him.
“Yeah. You see I’m going to debut a new band soon and I want you to be their new stylist from now on.” He told me.
“New band?”
“De. 2ne1. They’re going to consist of Park Bom, Park Dara, Lee Chaerin, and Gong Minji.” He told me.
Great. Dara… she freaking hates me. She made it clear a week ago and now I have to work for her.
“You’ll stop working for Big Bang after 2ne1 debuts. So for now just keep on working with Big Bang but after 2ne1 debuts you’ll be their official stylist.”
“De Mr. Yang.” I told him.
“Do you have any questions?” He asked me.
“No I don’t.” I replied.
“You may leave now.” He smiled at me.
“De.” I smiled at him and bowed and left his office. I walked to the elevator and waited for it to land on this floor. I got in the elevator and the elevator stopped at the 5th floor. The door opened and in walked Jiyong.
“What are you doing here Minhee?” Jiyong asked me.
“Mr. Yang needed to talk to me about something.” I told him.
“What?”
“He said that after 2ne1 debuts I’m going to be their official stylist. I’ll no longer be Big Bang’s.” I told him.
“You can’t do that! You’re forever Big Bang’s.” He whined.
“Yah! You’re acting like I’m an object!” I rolled my eyes.
“You know I don’t think that!” He told me.
“I know. I’m just messing with you.”
“The guys aren’t going to like this.” He told me.
“I can’t do anything. It’s my job and Mr. Yang is my boss.” I told him.
“Well we have to make the best of it then.” He sighed.
The elevator stopped and he motioned for me to go out first. We were walking towards the exit when he pulled my hand and dragged me to the garage.
“Where are you taking me?” I asked him.
“Let’s go back to the dorm. The guys are all there.” He said.
“Fine.” I smiled at him and he lowered his hand from my arm and held my hand. We were walking to his car hand in hand. I felt an electric shock when he was holding my hand. Why the hell did I feel that and why is my heart beating so fast?
We got to his car and he opened the door for me and had a big grin on his face. We drove back to his dorm in silence. I’m still thinking about how I felt when he was holding my hand. We finally arrived and entered the dorm.
“Hyung is that you?” Daesung asked.
“Yeah it’s me.” Jiyong yelled back. “Let’s go in.”
“De.” I said and followed Jiyong into the living room.
“Noona you’re here too?!” Daesung asked.
“Yeah.” I smiled at him.
“Who’s here too?” Youngbae asked while coming out from his room. “Oh Minhee you’re here.”
“De oppa.” I smiled at him.
“That’s not fair.” Jiyong suddenly said.
“What’s not fair?” I asked him.
“You call him oppa but you don’t call me oppa.” He pouted.
“First of all, don’t pout Jiyong. You look really ugly. And second of all, you’re only a day older than I am.” I laughed at him.
“You must’ve been a bully in your other life.” He told me.
“And why is that?” I asked him.
“Because you’re so mean!” He told me.
“I’m not mean. You’re the mean one!” I told him.
“How am I the mean one?! You just called me ugly!” He said.
“You called me fat!”
“I didn’t call you fat! You called yourself fat!” He replied.
“Hyung. Noona. You guys should stop flirting.” Daesung said.
“WE’RE NOT FLIRTING!” We both yelled while blushing.
“You guys are so flirting.” Youngbae smirked at us.
“What’s with all the yelling?” TOP came out from his room.
“Hyung and noona are flirting with each other.” Daesung grinned at him.
“They always flirt. It’s nothing new.” TOP said.
“Are hyung and noona flirting again?” Seungri asked.
“Yup. This time they’re talking about who’s the mean one.” Daesung filled him in.
“Wow. What flirts.” Seungri said while shaking his head.
“We’re still in the room you know? You’re making it seem like we’re not here at all!” I glared at them.
“Noona why is your face so red?” Seungri teased me.
“It’s not red!” I shouted at him.
“Hyung you should calm your girlfriend.” Seungri told Jiyong.
“Do you want to die?!” Jiyong told him.
“How cute. Jiyong’s protecting Minhee.” Youngbae grinned at us.
“Oppa stop!” I whined.
“Fine we’ll stop for now.” TOP smirked at us.
“What are you doing here anyways noona?” Daesung asked me.
“Your idiot of a leader dragged me here.” I told them which caused them to all laugh except for the idiot himself.
“I’m not an idiot! You said okay to coming here! I didn’t even force you to!” Jiyong said.
“You dragged me here!”
“But then I asked you and you said okay! Stop making things up woman!” He told me.
“Don’t call me woman!” I glared at him.
“Flirting round two’s about to begin.” Seungri said.
“SHUT UP!” We both yelled at him.
“You guys chill. Why are you here Minhee? Besides the fact that Jiyong dragged you here?” Youngbae cut in.
“To visit you guys.” I told him. “And I have some news for you guys.”
“What news noona?” Daesung asked me.
“I’m not going to be your stylist anymore once 2ne1 debuts.” I told them.
“WHAT?!” The four members shouted.
“But that’s in two months. We only have two months left with you?” Seungri pouted
“Yeah. I’m sorry but Mr. Yang wants that and I can’t refuse.” I told them sadly.
“That . We like having you as our stylist.” TOP pouted.
“I’ll still visit you guys! I won’t forget about you guys! You guys are acting like I’m moving far away. I’m only working with 2ne1 now.” I told them.
“But you won’t be by our side anymore.” Daesung pouted.
“I’m sorry.” I told him.
“It’s okay Minhee. Work is work. This won’t affect our friendship.” Youngbae grinned at me.
“De. Thanks oppa.” I smiled at him.
“Let’s order food and watch movies tonight! Noona you should have a sleep over here.” Daesung said excitedly.
“I have no clothes to sleep in.” I told him.
“You can borrow mine if you want to sleep over.” Jiyong said.
“De.” I smiled at him.
“Follow me then. Daesung order some food right now.” Jiyong told him.
I followed Jiyong into his room. It was really neat. Everything was organized… his room was really simple. He had a lot of paper on the floor though… I guess this is where he writes his lyrics sometimes.
“You can sit on my bed. Let me go find you something.” He told me.
“De.” I replied and sat on his bed. I was looking around his room and saw an empty picture frame. “You have an empty picture frame on your table.”
“I know. I just don’t have any photos I want to be in there yet.” He replied.
“I see.”
“Do you want a t-shirt or a tank top?” He asked.
“Just give me a tank.” I replied.
“Okay.” He replied and gave me a tank and shorts. “You can change into these. My bathroom’s over there.”
“Thanks.” I replied and took the clothes from him and walked into the bathroom. His bathroom was really neat too. He had his lotion and cream all lined up. He was too organized for a guy. I saw his cologne bottle and smelled it. It smelled really good… it smells like him. I like the smell. After I was done, I headed back to his room and saw him sitting on his bed playing on his phone.
“You’re done?” He asked me while looking up at me.
“De. Thanks for the clothes.” I smiled at him and he didn’t say anything. He just looked at me. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. You just look good in my clothes.” He grinned and I couldn’t help but blush.
“You’re stupid.” I replied.
“Let’s go in the living room now.” He smiled at me.
“De.” I smiled at him and followed him into the living room.
“Minhee your phone was ringing.” TOP told me.
“Oh did you guys pick it up?”
“No.” Youngbae replied.
“Okay.” I told him and walked over to my bag and saw that I had a missed call from Donghae. What did he want? I dialed his number and waited for him to pick up.
“Did you call?” I asked him.
“Yeah. I just wanted to know if you were busy or not.”
“Why?”
“Want to go eat? I’m hungry.” He told me.
“I’m kind of busy today. Maybe another time. Go with your girlfriend.” I told him.
“But I want to eat with you! We haven’t hung out ever since we made up.” He told me.
“I’m sorry. I’ve been really busy.” I told him.
“Can’t you make time for me? What are you even busy with right now?”
“I’m not home. I’m at Big Bang’s dorm right now.”
“Why are you there?”
“They’re having a sleep over so they invited me to stay.”
“YOU’RE GOING TO SPEND THE NIGHT AT A GUY’S DORM. NOT JUST A GUY BUT FIVE GUYS?!” He raised his voice.
“Donghae can you please lower your voice?” I asked him.
“You can’t sleep over! That’s not right!”
“Why is it not right?” I asked him.
“Because you’re the only girl there.”
“You’re acting like they’re going to take advantage of me. I can take care of myself and you know that.” I told him.
“I know that but I just want to hang out with you.” He told me sadly.
“How about this? I’ll hang out with you tomorrow so clear all your schedule and make time for me.” I told him.
“Really?”
“Yes.” I told him.
“Okay. You promise?”
“I promise.” I told him.
“Alright. I’ll see you tomorrow Minhee. Have fun tonight then.” He told me.
“Bye Donghae.” I told him and hung up on him.
“Wait. Donghae as in Super Junior’s Donghae?” Daesung asked me.
“De.” I answered.
“But I thought you didn’t know him.” TOP told me.
“I lied. He’s my best friend.” I told him.
“WHAT?!” The four shouted
“Yeah he’s my best friend.” I told them.
“Then why do you guys act like strangers?” Seungri asked.
“We weren’t really on good terms until the incident when he saved me.” I explained.
“Ah. I see.” Youngbae replied.
“Can we not talk about this anymore? Let’s watch movies and eat now.” I told them.
“Okay. Minhee can you go get plates? We set everything up already.” Youngbae told us the guys walked into the living room. I headed to the kitchen and tried grabbing the plates but couldn’t reach it. I saw two hands grabbing them and I saw Jiyong.
“You’re so short.” He teased me.
“Shut up. You’re the mean one.” I glared at him.
“Whatever you say.” He laughed at me and we both walked into the living room. The only spot that was vacant was the couch that fits for two people. I stared at the guys and they were all smiling. They set us up!
“I’m going to kill you guys.” I warned them and sat down on the couch with Jiyong.
We ended up eating and watching movies after movies. It was getting late and my eyes couldn’t open anymore. I drifted off to dreamland.
Jiyong’s POV
I was watching the movie when I felt something landing on my shoulder. I looked over and saw that Minhee fell asleep already. I couldn’t help but smile… she looked like a little kid when she’s sleeping. I decided to carry her to my room because I didn’t want her to sleep in this position. She would be sore the next day. I carefully placed her to the other side and got up. I carried her towards my room and placed her on my bed. I put a blanket over here. I sat on my bed and just looked at her sleeping face. My heart feels warm whenever I’m around her. I used my hand to brush her bangs away from her face. I don’t know what made me do this but I leaned in and kissed her on her forehead. I felt my face turning hot. I got up of bed and walked towards the living room. I saw the guys with smirks on their faces.
“What’s with the smirks?” I asked them while sitting on the couch.
“Nothing.” TOP said.
“You guys are up to something.” I told them.
“Answer us honestly Ji.” Youngbae said.
“Answer what?” I asked him.
“Do you have feelings for Minhee?” He said.
“You’re crazy. She’s our stylist and why would I like her?” I told them.
“It seems like you guys are together and you’re pretty overprotective of her.” Youngbae said.
“I’m not overprotective of her.” I said.
“Yes you are hyung. You don’t let her do things and you always make sure she has help with the heavy things.” Seungri pointed out.
“I do that with everyone.” I said.
“No you don’t. This is the first time I’ve seen you like this.” TOP said.
“So you’re saying that I like Minhee?” I told them.
“We think you like her hyung. You have some special feelings towards her.” Daaesung said.
“How do you feel when you’re around her? Be honest.” Youngbae asked.
“My heart feels warm and she makes me smile but that doesn’t mean that I like her.” I told them.
“You totally like her hyung. Stop being in denial. You’re just afraid of rejection that’s why you keep telling yourself that you don’t like her.” Seungri told me.
“Whatever. I’m crashing in your room Bae.” I told him and walked into Youngbae’s room.
I lied on his bed and just closed my eyes. Is it true that I like Minhee? Is this why I feel the way I do when I’m around her? I’m not like this when I’m around other girls. Stupid guys… why do they have to confuse me? I heard the door opening and I knew it was Youngbae. I opened my eyes and saw that he was on the bed next to me.
“Talk to me. It’s just me now. I’m your best friend Ji and I know when you like someone.” He told me.
“So what if I do like her? I’m not going to do anything. I can’t. She’s already in love with someone else.” I told him.
“So you admit that you like her?”
“Yes I like her. I’ve never really felt this way about any girl before.” I told him.
“Cause she’s special to you.” He grinned at me. “What do you mean she’s in love with someone else?”
“I can’t say who but I know she’s in love with someone else. She told me already.” I told him.
“Is she with this guy?”
“Nope.” I told him.
“Why not?”
“Because he has a girlfriend already.” I told him.
“Then you have a chance with her.” He smiled at me.
“What do you mean?”
“She likes someone who has a girlfriend. So chances are that he only sees her as a friend. This is your chance to show her that she should like you. Court her Ji. Be there for her when she needs you and she’s going to realize her feelings for you.” Bae told me.
“Should I?” I asked him.
“Yes.” He told me. “I think she’s perfect for you.”
“I-I wrote a song for her or she inspired me to write a song.” I confessed.
“What song?” He asked me curiously.
“It’s one of our title track for our new album. Haru Haru.” I told him.
“You did?! Does she know?” Bae asked me.
“Yeah. I showed her the song and she loved it.” I told him.
“You showed her?! So you showed her the beat and music then the lyrics?”
“Ani. I did a recording with just my singing.” I told him.
“You must really like her because you never do this! We didn’t even record the song yet and you already showed her everything.” Bae told me.
“I don’t know what’s wrong with me? I’m never like this. Whenever she’s down I just want to cheer her up.” I told him.
“I’ll say this again… you like her. Just go for it Ji.” Bae told me.
“I’ll think about it. Let’s go to bed now.” I told him and we lied down on the bed and closed our eyes. Maybe Bae’s right… I should just go for it. I’ll show Minhee that she doesn’t need Donghae.
Donghae’s POV
I was getting ready to hang out with Minhee today. Today would be the first day of hanging out with her in two years. I hope today will turn out well. I was excited and happy for this day. I heard a knock on the door and Hyukjae walks in.
“Where are you going? Why do you look so happy and excited?” He asked me. “Going on a date with Yoona?”
“Nope. I’m not hanging out with Yoona.” I grinned at him.
“Then where are you going?!” He asked me.
“I’m hanging out with Minhee.” I told him.
“Minhee your best friend?” He asked me.
“Yup. We’re going to hang out today.” I told him.
“You seem excited to hang out with her.” He told me.
“It’s been two years since I last hung out with her Hyukjae so I am excited.” I told him.
“Well you better be careful because Yoona might get the wrong idea.” He told me.
“What do you mean?” I asked him.
“You’re acting like you’re going on a date with Minhee. You need to realize that Yoona’s your girlfriend and she’s going to misunderstand if you act like this.” He told me.
“I don’t like Minhee though. She’s like a little sister to me.” I told him.
“I know that but Yoona doesn’t and she’s not going to understand. She’s just going to get the wrong idea.” He told me.
“I’ll make sure that she knows.” I told him.
“Good. Have fun with Minhee.” He told me and left the room. I heard my phone ringing and it was Yoona calling.
“Hello?”
“Oppa can we hang out? I know you don’t have a schedule today and I’m free today.” She told me.
“I have plans today.” I told her.
“What plans?” She asked me.
“I’m going to hang out with Minhee.” I told her.
“Minhee? The girl I met at the hospital?”
“Yeah. It’s been a while since I last hung out with her.” I told her.
“I see oppa. Well have fun then.” She told me sadly.
Maybe Hyukjae’s right. Yoona’s going to misunderstand everything and I don’t want her to misunderstand anything.
“Do you want to come along?” I asked her.
“Can I?” She asked me excitedly.
“Of course. It’s not like I’m going on a date with Minhee. We can all hang out.” I told her.
“Alright. Where do I meet you oppa?”
“We’re meeting at this nice coffee shop. I’ll text you the address.” I told her.
“Alright. I’ll see you soon oppa. I love you.”
“I love you too.” I told her and hung up. I was finally done getting ready and headed towards the coffee shop.
I arrived there and saw that Minhee was already there. She was wearing a white tank top with a blazer over it and she wore skinny jeans with heels on. Her hair was in a bun. She looked beautiful… this is why she was one of the most popular girls in Mokpo. Every guy wanted to be with her. She was sitting on a table sipping on her glass of water. I walked over to her and sat down in front of her.
“Sorry. Did you wait long?” I smiled at her.
“You’re such a girl! What took you so long?” She whined.
“I’m sorry.” I told her.
“Whatever.” She rolled her eyes.
“So what do you want? My treat.” I told her.
“I want a green tea frap with soy milk.” She told me.
“Alright. Let me go get it. You want any bread? I know you love bread.” I grinned at her.
“You still remember.” She smiled at me.
“I remember everything about you Minhee.” I smiled at her.
“You sap. Just surprise me.” She told me.
“Alright.” I told her and headed towards the counter to order our orders. I texted Yoona to ask her what she wanted.
Minhee’s POV
I can’t believe he still remembers things about me. This is why I fell in love with him. I couldn’t help but feel giddy when I’m around him. I’m looking forward to spend this whole day with him. I just want to catch up with him and see how he’s doing. I was sitting at the table waiting for him to come back. I couldn’t see him since the order counter was on the other side of the coffee shop.
“Hi Minhee-ssi.” I heard a voice saying and I turned around and saw Yoona.
“Hi Yoona-ssi. What are you doing here?” I asked her.
“Oppa didn’t tell you? He invited me to come.” She told me. “Can I sit?”
“De. You can sit.” I smiled at her. He invited her to come? I thought today was going to be just me and him. I couldn’t help but feel hurt. The first day that we get to hang out with each other he decides to invite his girlfriend to come along.
“Where’s oppa?” She asked me.
“He’s getting drinks. You should go tell him what you want.” I told her.
“He texted me a while ago to ask what I wanted.” She grinned at me.
“I see.” I smiled at her. This is awkward.
“So how’d you and oppa meet?” She asked me.
“Our parents knew each other so we grew up with each other.” I told her.
“I see. So you guys must’ve been really close.” She told me.
“De. He was like an older brother to me and he was really over protective of me.” I told her.
“Yeah oppa’s like that when it comes to an important girl in his life.” She told me. “So why are you in Seoul again?”
“I got a job at YG Entertainment.” I told her.
“I see. Do you like your job?” She asked me.
“Yeah. I like it. It’s fun working with the boys.” I told her.
“So why are you working as a stylist?”
“I feel that this is a step closer to getting to my dreams.” I told her.
“What’s your dream then?” She asked me.
“I want to create my own line and open up a boutique shop.” I told her.
“That sounds nice. But are you sure you didn’t accept the job at YG Entertainment as an excuse just to see Donghae oppa?” She told me.
“What are you talking about?”
“I know your little secret.” She smirked at me.

“What secret?” I told her.
“I know you’re in love with oppa. I can just see it in your eyes. Are you sure you didn’t take that job because you know that you’ll be able to see him?”
“I’m sorry but I don’t use boys as a factor in making a decisions.” I told her.
“That’s funny because you seem like that type.” She told me.
“What type?” I asked her.
“The needy type. The girl who uses her vulnerability to get a guy to feel for her. It’s not going to work with oppa. He’s mine and he told me that he only sees you as a sister and nothing more. Don’t go seducing oppa now.” She warned me.
“I’m sorry but I’m not a home wrecker like you. I don’t have intentions of stealing him away from you. I can’t believe he’s going out with a like you.” I told her.
“Why you little . Don’t you ever call me that. You think you’re the but you’re not. Stay away from oppa or else.” She warned me.
“Or else what? You’re going to cry and get him to go against me? That’s so cliché. Go ahead and see if I care. I’m not going to go and beg him to listen to me. You act like I’m like those other girls but I’m not. I don’t give a . I’m not scared of you. You’re just some low life who thinks she owns the world. You’re a brat.” I told her.
“Hey you’re here Yoona.” I heard Donghae saying.
“Oppa.” She smiled at him. What a two face . I hate her.
“Did you just get here?” He asked and took a seat next to her.
“De.” She told him cutely. She’s so fake that it makes me sick.
“Here’s your green tea frap.” Donghae said and handed me my drink.
“Thanks” I smiled at him.
“Here’s your mocha.” He gave Yoona her drink.
“Thanks oppa. You’re the best.” She said and kissed him on the cheeks. I couldn’t help but roll my eyes and I saw her smirking at me.
“So what do you want to do after this Minhee?” He asked me.
“I actually have to go with Big Bang to their next schedule soon. I can only grab coffee with you.” I told him.
“But you told me last night that you could hang out with me today.”
“I’m sorry but I lied. I just said that so you wouldn’t get mad at me.” I told him.
“Oppa we can go on a date then!” Yoona butted in.
“Yeah you can go on a date with your loving girlfriend.” I told him sarcastically.
“Can’t you bail out on your schedule?” He asked me.
“I’m sorry Donghae but it’s work.” I told him. “Thanks for the coffee. I’ll talk to you later.
“I’ll walk you out.” He said.
“It’s fine. Just stay with Yoona-ssi.” I told him and walked towards the exit.
I freaking hate that girl. I don’t even know why Donghae’s going out with her. He can do better than her! She’s so fake. How dare she calls me needy!!! She’s the needy one! And Donghae’s a stupid for inviting her to hang out with us today! Is that all he cares about… his fake girlfriend?! Why do I get the feeling that Donghae’s going to mess up every time we’re together?
Donghae’s POV
I was bummed that Minhee had to leave already. We didn’t even get to catch up. Why did she leave so suddenly? Why can’t YG give her a break? Stupid YG. On the bright side, I got to go on a date with Yoona. She was really happy and I’m happy that she’s happy. The day finally ended and I finally arrived home. I walked into my room and Hyukjae followed me into the room.
“How’d your day go with Minhee?” He asked.
“She left like thirty minutes into the meeting.” I told him.
“Why?”
“She had a schedule with Big Bang.” I told him.
“That’s weird. Big Bang doesn’t have a schedule today.” He told me.
“How do you know that?” I asked him.
“Seungri and Daesung was hanging out with a few of us today. They told me that they’re on vacation.” He told me.
“Why would she lie to me then?” I asked him.
“I don’t know. Did you say anything to her?”
“Ani. I went to go buy our drinks and when I came back she was sitting there with Yoona.” I told him.
“Yoona was there?” he asked me.
“De. I invited her to come and hang out with us.”
“I see.”
“Why do you think she lied to me?” I asked him.
“I don’t know. I think you should talk to her about it.” He told me. “I’m going to go watch TV now. You should get changed and come out and watch with us.”
“Alright.” I told him and he walked out of the room. Minhee, why did you lie to me? I have to find out now. I took out my phone and texted her.
A/N: I'm sorry for not updating frequently. I've been really busy with my last semester of culinary school. There's a lot of exams coming up and I have to prep for it. On top of that, I have a wedding to plan. Please be patient with me! Thank you for reading my story. I'll try to update it when I'm free. One more thing... I CAN'T BELIEVE BIG BANG'S HAVING A WORLD TOUR! I HOPE THEY COME TO LA! :)
