That night Eunha lay on her bed as she stared deeply towards the ceiling. She tried to absorb whatever she was told just now as her watery eyes looked foward.

She grabbed her phone and turned it back on. The moment it was revived, it started to vibrate rapidly as all her missed calls and messages from Sana pops up on her lockscreen.

[4:50] Hey why did you ditch me after   class?

[5:10] Yah! Jung Eunbi! I’ve been calling you why aren’t you answering!

[5:11] You should at least tell me where you were going...

[5:11] Call back soon. I’m getting worried.

Eunha sighed as she read the messages. She dialed Sana’s number and answered it.

“Eunha!” 

Eunha moved the phone away from her ear as Sana starts shouting as she demanded a reason from her.

“I’m sorry Sana..” Eunha said.

“Are you alright?” Sana asked as she heard the sadnees in Eunha’s voice.

Eunha told Sana that she was actually adopted and that her real family was dead. Obviously leaving out the part about her being a Guardian and almost being killed twice by demons.

“Eunha...You should rest dear. Don’t worry yourself too much. Want me to go over?”

“No. I’m fine. Just thinking. I’ll see you in class tomorrow alright.” 

“See you. Please take care.” Sana said before hanging up.

Eunha placed her phone onto her side table. She saw a framed picture of her trip to the Eiffel Tower a few years back. They took a picture as a family, Eunha looked at the picture and let out a soft chuckle as she recalled the good times.

“It was a fun trip wasn’t it?” Eunha’s dad said as he walked into her room and sat on he edge of her bed. 

Eunha couldn’t face him properly as she hung her head low.

“You know i can still remember the look on you and Yerin’s face when we stood at the top of the Eiffel Tower. You guys were so happy, and that made me happy.” 

He inched closer to Eunha as he her hair and smiled. Eunha looked at him.

“My little girl.”

“I’m not your daughter.” 

“I never said the word ‘daughter’ did i? I said that you were my little girl. And you will always be.”

Those words made Eunha froze. Even though they weren’t biologically related, he always treated her that way. He played with her when she was young, he scolded her when she did wrong and guided her afterwards. He watch her grow and never left her side, he treated her like she was the most important person on the planet.

“How was it like? Being a Guardian?”

Eunha’s father immediately let out a huge smile as he turned to face Eunha.

“Tiring but thrilling. Fought demons alongside my squad, met with many other beings too.”

“Other beings?” Eunha asked.

“Yes my dear. There are more than just demons in this world. I’ve met mermaids, vampires, werewolves, oracles, witches and zombies.” 

Eunha’s father explained as if he was directing a movie as Eunha listened to every word he said. He was enjoying his time while he watched his daughter listen attentively.

“Am i in danger?” Eunha asked.

“Stay with the right company. Keep yourself low. Demons are after you because of what they can achieve, however guardians are also after you to prevent the demons from getting to you first. Apparently it’s an honour to kill a Hellbourne.”

“Is that why my parents tried to kill me?” 

“I’m afraid so.”

“But why did you take me in then?
