Wonwoo approached SVTea's front door with Mingyu slightly behind and a comforting hand in the curve of his back guiding him forward. His whole body, Wonwoo thinks, was shaking uncontrollably but he wasn't sure and couldn't check since the churning in his stomach was already occupying his thoughts.

"Stop worrying Wonwoo." Mingyu chuckled.

In reply Wonwoo turned away from the door and tried escaping back to the car hoping that that action alone told Mingyu exactly what he was thinking: "Screw this." But unfortunately he wasn't fast enough and Mingyu caught his arms and pulled him into the coffee shop. Judging by the nine pairs of hands being thrown up in the air and the startled looks from other customers Wonwoo had earnt a cheer from the crowd of boys sitting in the corner. Mingyu laughed and lightly pushed his boyfriend towards their table where he sat down at the end and smiled timidly.

Wonwoo nodded as he spotted Chan, Seungcheol, Jihoon, Joshua, Jun and Jeonghan- the six of Mingyu's friends he was already acquainted with. Soonyoung was there too hiding behind Jihoon, Wonwoo managed to avoid his eye contact.

"You never told me your Jun was the same Jun as my Jun." Wonwoo whispered to Mingyu as everyone greeted them.

"What Jun?" Mingyu raised an eyebrow, seriously confused.

"Jun is my colleague."

"Ah."

The first person to greet Wonwoo was an average height man with dyed peach hair (or was it blonde? Wonwoo couldn't tell in the light), he passed a note written on a torn out page of a notepad. It read;

Hello, Wonwoo. My name is Seungkwan. Nice to meet you :)

Wonwoo smiled and wrote a response with a sharpie Seungkwan handed him. As soon as he passed the paper back for Seungkwan to read two other notes came sliding across the table towards him. He laughed a little at the sight of it before he began reading the first one.

Hello. I'm Vernon.

It was short and ever so simple but Wonwoo liked the stick drawing of a person dancing in the corner. He looked up to a pair of smiling hazel eyes and a mop dusty blonde hair he assumed to be Vernon who was sitting beside Seungkwan.

The next note read;

Hi Wonwoo! My names Seokmin. :) :) :) :)

The boy who had wrote it hadn't stopped smiling since he had entered the shop and just seeing his eyes turn the shape of cresent moons everytime he flashed his white teeth made Wonwoo feel a lot calmer.

Another note from Seungcheol was pushed towards him.

Mingyu told us about your hearing. He also said you were really nervous about today

Wonwoo glared at the tall boy beside him before continuing to read

Don't worry! We are all really excited to meet you. We had the idea of adding you to a group chat so you could talk to us and we could talk to you with ease. Is that ok with you?

A sigh of relief was the reaction Wonwoo gave and then an enthusiastic nod. Texting was so much better than lip reading, signing or passing notes. He was so glad everyone at the table considered his struggles.

After pulling his phone from his back pocket he passed it to Mingyu who entered everyones numbers into his phone and created a group chat. He passed it back and Wonwoo raised an eyebrow.

"Who's bighands?" He had to squint to make sure he had read the name right.

"Oh, that's Joshua."

Jihoon sighed from across the table and Joshua covered his smile as he laughed to himself (his hands were pretty large).

"I'm trying to set Joshua up with Jeonghan." Mingyu whispered to Wonwoo as everyone joined the chat.

Jeonghan sent the first text starting the groupchat officially- a mistake waiting to happen.

Mother:
Since all our usernames
are stupid we
should probably all
comment our real
names so Wonwoo knows
who we are. I'm Jeonghan.

Wonwoo switched his phone off and looked up at his hot chocolate. He felt great. His new friends were halarious and had a similar sense of humour to him, he had made up with Soonyoung without any drama, and he felt as comfortable as ever surrounded by eleven smiling faces. Jihoon yelled something across the table at Mingyu (probably an insult on his height) and Seokmin burst into laughter along with Seungkwan and Hansol. Wonwoo smiled too, he didn't need to hear what Jihoon had said to feel happy.

A good hour passed and Wonwoo had finished his hot chocolate and half of Mingyu's cookie. Under the table their hands were intertwined and Mingyu ran his thumb up and down Wonwoo's knuckle giving him a new wave of butterflies with every . A note was pushed towards him by Chan, it read:

So, I've been looking around for more job interviews and I found somewhere that sounds promising.

Wonwoo didn't want another job interview. It was mentally draining and physically tiring and he was done getting rejected continuously. He was about to shake his head and deny the offer but a word in the next sentence caught his eyes so he read on:

I found a company and the manager is actually deaf herself. I figured she would be more understanding so I have already booked an interview. I spoke to her too, told her how good you were. She's excited to meet you :)

Wonwoo grinned wider than the sea and nodded enthusiastically at Chan, "Thank you so much." Another note was passed towards him with the date, time and place of the interview. It was a week from now on a Sunday.

"I'll drive you there and back." Mingyu offered after reading the note over his shoulder.

"Thank you."

Wonwoo saw, from the corner of his eyes, Soonyoung's jaw drop as he watched Mingyu and him converse. Soonyoung had now seen it in action, he had to believe Wonwoo could hear his boyfriend. There was no other excuse.

Closing time caught up with the crowd and interrupted their conversations. After several goodbyes and a few more humorous insults everyone parted ways leaving the table in an utter mess.

"I'm really glad we did that." Wonwoo smiled as he fastened his seatbelt in the passenger seat of Mingyu's car.

"Me too." Mingyu smiled back.

"I like Jihoon. He's funny."

"Are you kidding me? He's evil and scary."

"He's half the size of you. How is he scary?"

"You hardly know him. One time he chased me with a guitar above his head because I ate his last cheeto." The latter shuddered at the memory.

"I think I would do the same if you ate my last cheeto."

"I'm leaving you."

"You wouldn't. You're too deeply in love."

Mingyu turned a corner in the road "Too right."
