Narrator's POV

*One month later*

It was just a normal dinner at the Choi house that is until Seunghyun noticed something slightly strange.

“Appa, did you cook this?” the food tasted abnormally delicious compared to how his father normally cooked.

His father smiled “So glad you asked Seunghyun because it was actually made by Carole” he smiled to her and she blushed in embarrassment.

Seunghyun chewed slowly then swallowed “So this is what poison taste like” he said before taking another bite.

This made Carole’s eyes grow big he didn’t push it away after knowing I made it instead he’s still eating? It appears she’s the only one who thought that.

“Seunghyun!” Hye Yoon smacked his head “At least you have something to eat now and you’re not starving. Seriously can’t you be a little bit more grateful for the food on your plate?” he rubbed his head and frowned.

“Hye Yoon it’s okay really he does this so much I’m used to it” Carole gave a sad smile trying to calm Hye Yoon down.

“Still you shouldn’t let him treat you like this” she argued.

However, Carole was more focused on Seunghyun as he ate bite by bite until the plate was clean. “It must be one of those poisons that tastes good to trick the victim into eating it but after it digests it slowly kills you from the inside out” he said before putting the dishes away.

“Seunghyun now you’re just being plain rude, appa say something”

“Your noona is right Seunghyun, Carole took a lot of time to make this dinner. Apologize to her right now”

“Now why should I do that, I haven’t don’t anything wrong” Seunghyun left for his room before they could say more.

Carole, however, didn’t think he was being rude and actually agreed that he didn’t do anything wrong because if you think about it, he was, in a roundabout way, complimenting her cooking. After all, he did say that it tastes good but of course only Carole noticed this.

“Hmm… maybe we need another push” His father suggested confidently.

“I don’t know, won’t he get really mad when he finds out you set it up?” asked Hye Yoon.

“The most he ever does is yell and storm off, besides I have a meeting tomorrow and you have to go with your husband for a doctor’s appointment”

“Appa, we’ve never left them alone together if we do that now who knows what he might do. You know most of the time he holds himself back he might not do so when we’re gone”

“…I guess that is going to be a problem” the man then looked over to his dog who was taking a peaceful nap “Charlie~” he cooed petting him slightly causing the dog to open his eyes and have a big yawn.

“Charlie, can you do something for me?” the boy started to wag his tail slightly.

“Can you keep an eye on Seunghyun while we’re away?” the dog let out a single bark in response.

“Good boy!” The older man rubbed his hand on the animal’s head.

“Seriously, he doesn’t even understand what’s going on and you trust a dog to make sure things don’t get out of hand?” Hye Yoon suspected her father must have gone crazy.

“Charlie knows and understands a lot more than you think and of course I trust him he’s been here since he was a pup more so he knows what to do to calm that beast down”

Charlie didn’t do anything more than lay down and wag his tail happily as they talked about him, it was almost as if he understood what was going on. Whereas Carole was thinking that leaving the two of them alone together was a terrible idea because that mean anything could happen, anything.

*The next day*

It was a regular Saturday morning which meant that Seunghyun was oversleeping not that this was a problem for Carole if anything she wished he stayed asleep all day until everyone came back since she was certainly a bit scared to be alone with him. But alas no one in the world always gets what they wish for as a much tried looking Seunghyun came down still in his pyjamas.

“Appa!” he called but there was no answer.

He eventually found Carole and seeing as she was the only other person in the house he asked “Where is everyone?”

“You’re father’s at a meeting and Hye Yoon went to the doctor with her husband” she replied.
