Hyekyo’s POV

My fingers start tap as my senses are activated. My eyes flicker open to a bright white light, I tried to breath but I couldn’t, some kind of tube was in my throat. As my eyes adjusted, the sight of the first person I’ve been longing to see touched me. He was there next to me, sleeping as he holds on to my hand. I smiled and I raised my hand to caress his face. He fidgeted and slowly opened his eyes.

“Hyekyo! You’re awake.”

He caressed my face and I worried for him, he had panda eyes and he seems skinnier. He must have been keeping an eye on me this whole time.

I tried to say something to him but the tube hindered me from making out any words.

“I’ll be right back. I’m calling the doctor so they can take the intubation off of you.”

He hurried out the door and came rushing back in with the doctor.

“All is good. You are luck Mrs. Song, someone up there is looking out for you.” said the doctor as he finished checking me.

“Thank you Doctor Lee.”

He bowed and left my room with the nurses.

“ Hyekyo-eonnie, are you sure you’re okay? Do you need anything? Water? Food? ” asked Yuri who was standing next to me.

“ I’m fine Yul. Water would be good though.”

She quickly handed me a cup of water and I thanked her as she set it down on the table beside me.

“Joongki.”

He hasn’t spoken to me since I woke up, he’s been standing next to the door without saying anything.

“I’ll leave you two alone. I need to call Omma and Appa to tell them you’re awake.” said Yuri.

“Thank you.”

She touched my forearm and smiled, as she left the room she patted her brother’s shoulder.

When the door closed, Joongki came over to me and helped me sit up comfortably by moving my pillows in the right position.

“Joongki, what’s bothering you? Why haven’t you said anything to me?” I asked.

He pulled up a chair beside me and sighed as he sat down and fiddled with my fingers.

“You were in a coma for 3 weeks.”

“Is Ji Won and her baby okay?”

He let go of my fingers and furrowed his eyebrows.

“Why would you be concerned about her? Did you hear what I said Hyekyo? You were in a coma for 3 weeks. Why did you get into that car, what were you thinking?”

I knew he was angry, not at me but at my previous actions. He must feel betrayed.
