Ten years later...

“Your momma and I, we didn’t like each other in the beginning of our relationship.”

“What?! How?” Venous genuinely surprised. “It’s impossible!”

“It is not, baby. It happened, it was real.” Tiffany laughed at the shock expression on the triplets’ faces.

“But momma and mommy are always all over each other it’s almost sickening! I mean it in the nicest way.”

“You guys want to hear about it?”

The three nodded eagerly.

“As old school as it sounds, even in our era, her parents and mine tried to matchmaking us because they thought that we were compatible for each other. We didn’t see anyone at that time. We both busy with our career. Romantic relationship was the last thing that I had in mind, probably the same with her. Around three – four days after our first meeting, I moved in with her to her apartment because it was near to the hospital. She was incredibly annoying–”

“She still is.” Artery said jokingly, earning a nudge from his brother.

“Yes, she still is but that time, it was worse.”

“Then why did you stay?” Venous asked curiously.

“Honestly? I had no idea. It just happened. There were times I felt like giving up. She was really introverted. Sometimes I didn’t know what was in her mind. It was frustrating and tiring to figure out someone you didn’t really know, because you won’t know how to act or what to say. Our story is not like something you watch in the movies or those books. Our love grow, even till now, it has never stopped growing. We learn, we fight, we argue, we make it up, but at the end of the day, we never want to be apart from each other.”

“But momma loves mommy very much.” Aorta commented. “Vice versa.”

“That, we do. We really do.” Tiffany chuckled. “It’s really funny how life turns out for me, especially. Before I met your momma, I never thought that someday I’d sit in the living room with three amazing kids of my own. I thought I’d be spending the rest of my life in the court with law and clients. Momma and the three of you are the real magic and the greatest gifts that ever happened to me.”

Aorta, Artery and Venous blushed at the compliment.

“Who ask who to marry who?”

“What’s with your sentence, Artery?” Venous looked at her brother weirdly.

“What important is mommy’s answer, Venous.”

“Momma did.” Tiffany smiled dreamily remembering that certain night.

“Candle lit dinner? Or somewhere romantic?”

“Really?” Artery rubbed his chin. “Momma is not a romantic.”

“The meaning of romantic depends on the individuals themselves, sweethearts. That night, I thought the way she proposed was not romantic at all. Now, I see it from different point of view. So momma asked me in the middle of the night when we were about to sleep. No make up, no fancy dress, nothing. Out of the blue she asked me ‘where do you see us in the next ten years?’” Tiffany caught her breath. “I said, basically, that we’re together with our kids around doing domestic things together. Then she pulled out a box under her pillow, I swear I heard her heart beat so fast it was audible.” Tiffany laughed wholeheartedly. “She didn’t actually ask, because if it was a question, it should be something like will you marry me, right? But what she said that night was ‘please say yes to forever with me,’ without question mark.”

“Momma had such an outstanding confident.” Artery nodded approvingly. “It would be really awkward if you said no.”

“She knew I wouldn’t say no, baby. We have a same purpose in life. Why wait?”

“How did you know that momma was the one? Like, sure, you guys love each other but to be engaged in this kind of commitment is somehow crazy.”

“Hey, Ve, why do you always have like a thousand questions in your head?” The second born mocked his sister.

“Let her be, Artery.” Aorta defended sister. “You want to hear it, too.”

He only shrugged, earning a pillow landed on his face.

“Venous, don’t throw things.”

“You’re such a big brother.”

“Thank you, baby.” Tiffany gave the boy kiss on his temple. “Do you guys want to hear more?”

“Yes, please, mommy.”

“I felt overwhelming; ecstatic, joy, confuse, afraid, contended, all fused into one. I had seen enough divorce cases for a lifetime. What if we don’t make it? What if in the middle of our journey we become too tired to be with each other? What if we think that we have enough? But then, what if we make it? What if it was she that I’ve been searching all my life? What if it was she that the one who can complete me, who can make me happy for the rest of my life? It was a gut feeling, to say yes, I mean.”

“So you just go with it?”

“Yeah, and here we are.”

“Can I ask another question?”

“Artery…” Aorta warned his brother from making jokes when he saw Artery rolled his eyes subtly.

“What? I didn’t say anything.”

“Go ahead, sweetheart.”

“Being together, just the two of you is easier than to have kids, right? Moreover with us three at the same time, it must be really hard. The question is, why and when did momma and mommy decide to have us?”

“Not long after we’re officially married, actually. We’ve had all except you three. Funny, momma wanted three kids and I only wanted two. Suddenly, we were pregnant with the three of you.”

“Any regret, mommy?”

“None at all.”

“What do you mean with we’ve had all except us? What’s all?”

“Love, career, wealth.”

“You guys want descents for successor or so you won’t be alone when you’re old?”

Aorta and Venous stared at their brother in disbelief.

“What? That’s what my friends told me. They said all parents are the same. Do you know what parents always say when we disobey them? I brought you in to this world, I give you home, food, water, electricity, education, now you want to get out of the house when you’re success? Not on my watch, punks.”

“Have you heard momma and mommy said that?” Aorta spoke disapprovingly.

“No, that’s why I ask, Aorta.” He declared as a matter of fact.

Tiffany watched her children argued in admiration. They really had different
