Am’s pov

“Mrs Liu~!” I screamed and woke up panting in a cold sweat. I dreamt of Mrs Liu, my mum again. As I was lifting the blanket to uncover myself, at the corner of my eyes, I saw the red rose petal formed words, “COME, FIND ME.”  on the blanket.

Below was a piece of old photo of a school building. I was astonished about what had happened and slowly approaching it when Jackie flung the door open and jumped on my bed. This resulted the flower petal words to be messed up.  She was checking if I was ok when I was staring at the photo intensely trying to figure out what school was that. Out of sudden, she snatched the photo and exclaimed, “How come you have Mum’s high school photo?”

I asked “Mum’s high school photo? It was not in China? The words seem Korean.”

Jackie passed me back the photo and shared, “Mum was from China, she went Korea to study before she came US, met Dad, married, gave birth to us and stay here for good. Why you have this photo with you in your room?”

I did not wanted to say what I have encountered as I know that she will probably say that it was all because I missed mum too much to imagine these things. I did not answer her but asked her, “What is mum’s school name in korea?”
