Chapter 20
King's bodyguardJunjin no longer had a high fever, but he still hadn’t woken up. When the king wasn’t practising his magic and preparing to face Jeehoon, he spent those spare moments next to the bed of the man he loved. Andy spoke to him and told him about the newborn prince. Hyesung no longer held grudge on Junjin, realising it had not been his desire to kill Minwoo. Jeehoon was too strong and could wrap the bodyguard around his finger if he wanted to.
“Your majesty,” Eric entered the chambers. “You must come haste.”
Andy looked at the man and nodded. He pecked the forehead of the man who winced a little and moaned in his sleep. Andy smiled, knowing Junjin could feel him. “What is it?” Andy asked once they were walking toward the destination Eric needed him at.
“We don’t know for sure,” The man spoke. “But it doesn’t look good.”
Andy halted. The skies were still purple and dark. The pouring rain had never truly ended. Flowers bloomed for a brief moment until they realised there was never enough light to grow. Andy sighed. During his father’s regime, nothing truly bad had happened. He had been an amazing king. He had been the peoples’ king.
“I want to face him,” Andy said. “I am ready.”
“I know,” Eric responded.
“I want this to be over.” Andy added. “I want my people to be happy.”
Eric placed his hand onto the shoulder of the king. When Andy looked at him, he said, “They are willing to fight with you, your majesty.” Andy tried to smile but he couldn’t. “They love you. You’ve done exceptionally well considering.” Eric also looked out of the window. “Neither of us knew that Jeehoon was going to do something like this.”
Andy snorted.
“Yeah,” he replied. “So, what did you want me to see?”
Eric led the way to where he wanted Andy to go. “There,” Eric gestured. “But let me get inside first, it could be something dangerous.”
Andy wouldn’t have wanted to sacrifice one of his men, but Eric insisted. He stepped to the room. Andy followed. Inside was a purple circle. It glowed. It made a weird sound – a swishing kind. Andy stepped closer. Eric grabbed him, but couldn’t hold him.
“It looks like a portal.” Andy said.
“A what?” Eric was smart enough to know what a portal was, but it seemed too absurd to be what it was.
“A portal.” Andy repeated. “This must lead to Jeehoon.”
“Your majesty!” Eric yelled. “You cannot possibly go inside! It is a trap.”
Andy shrugged. “Or Jeehoon doesn’t know it is here,” he said.
Eric had to admit that the king was also correct. “I do not know how long it has been here as we haven’t walked past this room in days,” he explained. “But it could’ve also grown.”
Andy inspected the portal. He walked around it, hovered his hand on top of it and closed his eyes. He felt how powerful it was. A smirk appeared to his face. “I am stepping inside.” he said. “And you cannot stop me.”
“YOUR MAJESTY!” Eric yelled but Andy was gone and so was the portal.
Eyes flashed open and the pain filled the broad chest. Junjin had woken up. He had no recollection of anything. He didn’t know what had happened when he had suddenly been clogged. He looked around, shock upon his face. How was he back in
